Disney's Hollywood Studios Orlando Reviews from The Last Year
rude staff, not very "disney friendly".
your job is to be kind and welcoming. i get it, its hot in FL but put a smile on and be kind. or work in retail babe
Disney disappoints again
I’ve been coming to Disney since the very first day the magic kingdom opened in 1971. Disney used to Be a magical place to visit . The past couple of years i have watched the customer service and magic disappear!! We have had family yearly passes on and off for the past couple of years and decided as a family today this will be the last time we will get our passes . We are done with paying exorbitant amounts of money to vacation at Disney and have an experience that’s equal to being in hell… Nothing magical about how we lead the cast members treat you and how they shuttle you through lines like your cattle. i’m sure if Walt Disney was alive today he would be appalled at the way things are run .
A Magical Experience
We went here May 6, 2024. It took Cheryl years to get Erik to attend a Disney theme park. Star Wars is what did it. This review is about the park and attractions. Restaurants will be rated in separate reviews. We had one of the best trip days of our lives, with Erik calling the visit magical. The customer service is amazing, the park is beautiful and spotless. We were able to get on 9 rides on 4 different attractions. Rise of Resistance x1, Smuggler's Run x4, Alien Swirling Saucers x1 and Star Tours x3. The rides were exhilarating and entertaining. We built light sabers at Savi's Workshop which was very neat. We also built droids at the Droid Depot which was fun. Disney shipped all of our items home (4 boxes worth) for a mere $40. The staff at Droid Depot was amazing in getting our items cataloged and boxed. Yes, the lines can be long and yes it is expensive, but to us was worth every penny. Hollywood Studios passes our price to value index with flying colors. We definitely will go back. We give this venue our highest recommendation. Note from Erik: If you are skeptical about what people tell you about Disney magic, you need to believe them. Words cannot describe the feeling you get in the park, you have to experience it.
This park was just ok at best
It was a fun day, but me and my family were expecting so much more. Coming from CA we frequent Disneyland and California Adventure a lot and this park reminded us of CA Adventure. The Star Wars ride(rise of the resistance) and the Hollywood Tower of Terror were fun to ride see that back in CA the HToT is now the Avengers ride and the Star Wars ride are located inside Disneyland. Had it not been for these two rides being at Disney Hollywood, we could have skipped this park totally. Overall it was ok at best, and out of the four parks it was our least favorite.
Great day out....but only if you can pay for extra's
We did Hollywood studios "After Hours" and during the day - highly recommend After Hours - particularly in the Orlando heat in July. We got on most rides within 10-15 mins, other than Rise of the Resistance within the 4 hrs we were there 7-11pm. During the Day session - Genie+ and Lightning Lanes are a MUST. The heat made the 12-4pm portion of the day unbearable, even after deliberately going on the water rides early in the day to cool down. Compared to Disneyland in California (which we did in 2015) we felt Orlando was not as good value - they seemed to spread the same rides over more parks so you have to pay more, created the most confusing Genie+ / Lightning Lanes system EVER and slightly different priviledges at different hotels to compound the confusion (?@&!?&$). Food options also seem limited and less healthy and of course expensive.
Galaxy’s Edge
If you love Star Wars, Galaxy’s Edge is a must!! Could have easily spent all day in there just watching the crowd and the characters. Going to fit in another visit before we leave!
Has gone downhill
I have visited this park 7 times since it first opened and my 8th visit was a huge disappointment. They have replaced some excellent attractions ( The great movie ride and the backlot tour) and instead put a huge emphasis on Star Wars. The balance is now all wrong. If you’re an adult who doesn’t like big drops or Star Wars then there’s nothing here for you anymore. Incredibly disappointed. Disney have dropped the ball on this one. Massively.

2nd time in my life time visiting Hollywood studious, we arrived early in the am. let me tell you go prepared because its soooooo hot. It is nothing like california its more like a show park. When I go back to florida I will not be going back to this park. Only thing I really liked was the toystory land

I spent the last year saving up for a family vacation -- first family vacay in 10 years. I asked my teenage boys where in the US would they like to go. Since they are huge Aerosmith fans, they immediately said Hollywood Studios so they could ride the Rockin Rollercoaster. After paying over $740+ on 4 tickets and waiting in a crazy hot line to enter the park, we soon found out that that ride was not in service. My boys were absolutely devastated. We walked around the park to see what else was available, but not much and all 55min plus wait times. We decided to leave the park. I reached out to WDW and provided my feedback, but they didn't have much to say. I will never visit another Disney park/resort as long as I live.
Not the experience we had hoped for

My review is based solely on the Disney After Dark
My review is based solely on the Disney After Dark experience. My sister, son and I came in June for the Hollywood Studio Disney After Dark. This was our first experience with an after dark event. Let me just start by saying, this probably the only way I'd want to do Disney in Florida unless it was winter and cold out. The after dark tickets were supposed to be from 9pm-12:30am, however you can arrive as early as 7pm to check in. We arrived at about 6:45pm and were let in about 6:55pm. The lines were still very long, most running over an hour so we decided to get familiar with the park (this was our first visit) and then grab dinner. What we didn't realize is due to Fantasmic, most people didn't leave the park until 9:30 or so. However starting at 9pm only after dark ticket holders (wristband) were allowed to go on the rides. There were many check points where our wristbands were checked. At 8:59 the wait time said 70 minutes for Tower of Terror so we were concerned with the wait. At 9pm everything showed closed in the app so we just walked up and asked. To our surprise the ride attendant said there was no wait and it was walk on. Heck yeah! Well sorry to say my son and I do not like drop rides and hated every second of the drops, my sister on the other hand loved it. Next up, since Fantasmic was still going on, we rushed over to Slinky Dog Dash. This one did have a wait of about 20 minutes so we grabbed a cold drink to wait in line. By the way, having many areas for the first 2 hours lined with cold drinks, popcorn, and ice cream with no wait was AMAZING!. I cannot say enough good things about Slinky Dog Dash it was so fun. I found myself yelling in joy and laughing. My son loved it and so did my sister. We are not small people and it was comfortable to ride. (I love Disney for being fat friendly) While in this area we also went on the Alien Swirling Saucers which only had a couple minute wait. This ride was fine, nothing special. Next up was Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run, Rise of the Resistance, and Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. Millenium Falcon was pretty much walk and Rise of the Resitance had a 15-20 minute wait. The Rise of the Resistance is quite the walk/pre show to the ride. We had no desire to go on Star Tours or Toy Story Mania (similar to Buzz Astroblasters) as we've done that plenty at Disneyland. Rock "N" Roller Coaster was closed as well as the Indiana Jones Show. Overall we got to ride everything we wanted and actually left a little early. It was still hot and humid (it's Florida in the summer) but without the sun beating on you it makes for a much more enjoyable time. I would do the After Dark again without hesitation.
Average and Expensive
I went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios FL on July 2nd 2024 and it was a fun experience but extremely average, the roller coasters were good but could improve, for being one of the most expensive parks in the Walt Disney Corporation, there weren’t too many roller coaster, and the wait times were ridiculous. The prices are extremely bad, going up to 10 dollars for water and sodas, but at the end of the day, it’s still a great experience for your friends and family.
AAGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE THIS PARRRJJKKKKKK IT WAS
AAGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE THIS PARRRJJKKKKKK IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. TOWERR OF Terror was PERFECT. THE RISE OF THE RESISTENCE IS PERFECT AGGHHHH. EVEN THE BEAUTY AND BEAST SHOW WAS PERFECT. THE FANTASMIC SHOW AFTER WAS THE CHERRY ON TOP I WOULD LOVE TO GO AGAIN I LOVE IT HERE. I recommend coming in as soon as the park opens and dashing to the rise of the resistance. It was such a beautifully detailed ride and even enjoyable for a non Star Wars fan. The backstory for all the rides were epic and it truly adds to the experience. It's a common misconception that you won't enjoy the ride if you don't like Star Wars but that's not true at all. I loved everything about this park and I would definitely go again. I can't even think of anything I don't love about it. My advice is to definitely stay the whole day so you can enjoy everything about the park. Lastly attend the show at the end of the day it was nothing like I've ever seen before. Disney really knows how to put on a show.
This is one of the best amusement parks I've been to.
From thrilling rides to great shows, I had a great experience walking around the park. The lines were long as expected, but luckily they moved quickly and many lines had fans/air conditioning. Overall, a great park experience and will definitely be coming back!
5/5 stars.
Very good park with lots to do. Food was alright. The ribs in Star Wars land were amazing. Rise of the resistance was a great ride so was tower of terror. Only bad thing is very long wait times. Expect 1-3 hour wait time depending on the time. Food was a little pricy for little portions but that's to be expected at a theme park. Overall would recommend
Hollywood Studios is one of my favorite Disney parks.
I love how it's on the smaller side so it's easy to walk to and from each section of the park. The rides and shows are great at HS, especially Tower of Tower, Rock n Rollercoaster, Slinky Dog Dash, Indiana Jones, Beauty and the Beast, and Frozen Sing along. Wait times can be long, as at any of the parks but because of the size, it's easy to hit a lot of the attractions.
I'm sorry.
This is a really good park. It probably has one of my favorite rides and it's my second favorite. I really like the ride lineup. Oh and tower of terror is my number one opp. Over all My Second favorite Disney park. Why? Cus It has Star Wars and Toy Story. Truly a masterpiece. Good ass park 9/10. This is for their guest relations customer service! This team holds their standards high. Had worse customer service at Animal Kingdom. But Hollywood Studios had no judgment, dealt with the situation as professional as they could. I commend Hollywood Studios Guest Services team for their professionalism.
A good day.
I had a good day there. Love the muppets vision 3d show. Liked meeting mickey and Minnie. One thing I will say about that is make sure the photographer in the mickey area takes a picture of you with mickey and not just a picture of him on his own. I enjoyed toystory land but it could do with being more shaded.
Adrenaline and fun!
My first stop and the most amazing attraction in the park was The Hollywood Tower Hotel (horror hotel), the free fall being so real, recommended!
My family and I went to Hollywood Studios.
It was all of our first times so we didn't really know what to expect. We did purchase Genie plus and we had a few ideas what we wanted to do. The main attraction for us, however, was the Cars exhibit/Lightning McQueen show. We started off in Toy Story land, walked around, there wasn't much for my toddler to ride on, so we moved quickly out of that area to go meet Olaf. That whole process wasn't very long, then when we were heading over to the Cars exhibit, my son was so excited. While we were waiting in line, somebody came out and said they were having technical difficulties and just to keep checking the Disney app to see when they would be back up and running. We were extremely disheartened because we had traveled over 3000 miles for this one as it is my son's favorite. We going to eat at the Hollywood Brown Derby while we passed the time and I psychotically refreshed the app. To our fortune, it was up and running within an hour so when we finished our salads at Hollywood Brown Derby, we headed to the car show which was great and my son loved. They are really missing the mark by not having more Cars, the movie/Lightning McQueen exhibits. They could actually re-create the entire Radiator Springs world, and so many kids, (and adults) would be into it. Just a thought, Disney :-) We did a lot of walking around and taking photos. My husband and I lived in Hollywood for over 15 years so it was really cool to reminisce a little bit and I love that old, Hollywood feel-which they do a great job of recreating. We never made it to the Star Wars exhibit so if ever back at this theme park, that's where we would start. Overall, be prepared for a full day because we were there all day and still didn't get to do everything we wanted. I would definitely recommend going, there is a lot to do. Everything is very fun. It was very busy and very hot day when we went so we tried to do as much as possible with our comfort zone.
Disney's Hollywood theme park is an absolute delight for
Disney's Hollywood theme park is an absolute delight for fans of movies and magic. The original Tower of Terror is a must-visit for thrill-seekers, while the abundance of delicious snacks and shakes adds to the fun-filled atmosphere. Exploring Star Wars land was a highlight, although it's worth noting that it's slightly smaller than its counterpart in Disneyland in California. Nonetheless, the immersive experience is sure to captivate fans of the beloved franchise. Overall, my time at Disney's Hollywood theme park was nothing short of amazing. From the iconic attractions to the delectable treats, it's a place where dreams come true and memories are made. I can't wait to return for another unforgettable adventure!
Hollywood Tower was our favorite ride.
Quite the crowd but was happy one of the rides had a single rider option that had no wait. Fun food and snack options.
Not good assistance for disabled
The park is good, just the guest relations Mrs. Anita is unhelpful, rude and should not be dealing with customers with conditions/special needs.
This is not my favorite Disney park and it's definitely not
This is not my favorite Disney park and it's definitely not worth it without a fast pass. If I loved Star Wars this place would be higher on my list. I do love the Tower of Terror though. It's still a great day though. It just cost a small fortune to get your moneys worth. If that makes sense? It's a place to drop a lot of money but if that's somehow no problem then this is a good place for you.
Disappointed
Disappointed. We went May 4th especially for galaxies edge. The park didn’t promote or celebrate May 4th and atmosphere was lack lustre. Overall the park compared poorly to universal, very limited food options, very limited shopping and food/drinks/stores repetitive. Overall the park seemed tired, no real atmosphere and limited experiences
Great day
Visited hollywood studios to see how the place is after a 5 year wait and what a a diffrence the star wars additions have made as a star war fan this is probably biased but its amazing all the detail is second to none the rides are epic make sure u ride then multiple times as there so much to see cutting edge rides with massive detail with the millennium falcon looking stunning great day which was finished off with classic fantasmic show Long day but well worth it

Had a great time as always! Crowds weren't as bad as my previous visit and had a great time exploring all the different themed areas. My absolute favorite ride of the day was Star Wars, rise of the resistance! It was actually my first time on the ride and I was extremely impressed with the attention to detail and overall experience
Even better now !
This is such an enhanced park with the Star Wars land (SWL) that it's becoming as big an attraction as any ! You must try out the cable car if only to go to Epcot and back. Consider the moments photo pack - photographers are everywhere in all parks. We easily got 50+ photos per day ! AND they include magic photos - all very clever. Toystoryland en route to SWL is the way to go. Plenty of good quality food / drink to be had. A must .....
Good but not great compared to previous years.
We had a good time but noticed a reduction the quality of the experience in some areas compared to our previous visits. We were left sitting with nothing happening for ten minutes, strapped in and ready to go on the Star Tours ride. Also were were most disappointed that The Little Mermaid show was closed and there had been no mention of this online prior to our visit. Also one restaurant had a minimum $63 per person spend for adults and $40 spend for 3-9 year olds! Really?
Terrible
Took my family to hollywood studios and wanted to ride rock n roller coaster which was out. Then went over to tower of terror which closed to mechanical issues. After, we went to indian jones show and they couldn’t finish the whole show due to mechanical issues. Needless to say we left. Definitely threw a wrench in the family vacation in which we don’t know when we can do that again.
Great rides
There are really good rides in this park and the theming is incredible. Toy Story land and Galaxy's Edge are so perfectly themed! Rise of the resistance was well worth the lightning lane as the queues were absolutely horrendous when we visited, which is why I have rated 4/5. Over an hour for alien swirling saucers, the shortest ride ever! 75 mins for toy story mania, 90 mins for slinky etc, the wait times here really limited the amount we could achieve in a day. It's a shame that Rock n rollercoaster was closed but I'm sure that would have had a very long wait too. The shows were amazing, especially Frozen!! I love this park and would love to return when it's less crowded.
Parking used to be free after 6pm, now it's 7:30pm.
Not worth going, there's other area in Orlando Fl where you can tour.
Not what it used to be...
Hollywood studios is a decent place to spend a half day if you enter at the start and are able to get rides. First the stores: The stores lacked a lot of merchandise including any real variety for mouse ears. The keychains have primarily been relegated to Disney Springs. The available shirts and lack of any real star wars merchandise save for the lightsabers and some helmets and stuffed animals, kind of lacked, even with the mech droid shop. Next, the interactive character experiences are very infrequent and short in duration and not advertised very well. The night show is non existent since they dumped the Star Wars night show and not worth staying for at all. There are no more First order marches in the parks daily and the overall feel is rather strange, a park in search of something it has not found. The park was not very crowded and without the Aerosmith coaster feels a little less full for rides. The shining parts are Galaxy's Edge which has a ton to look at, though not many experiences and the star wars rides and slinky Dog coaster. 50's prime time diner is always great fun, but the park was just kind of drab in terms of real offerings. If you go, make this a half park day and go elsewhere.
We enjoy this park.
Lots of Star Wars related attractions & rides. Sometimes you get lucky, short wait to get in Rise of the Resistance - 35 mins vs the usual 75+. Disappointed to see Star Tours falling off. It was high tech in its time but, now an after thought with a short wait time. A definite Hollywood feel, many storefronts look like 30-40s LA. Park hopping for something different try the Skyliner between here and Epcot. Nice view above WDW traffic.
Many attractions were cool as were the rides however my 4
Many attractions were cool as were the rides however my 4 year old balled her eyes out after being denied a chance to see Tiana, yet 3 other girls were allowed to see here after mine got told no. The handler was clearly racist
Amazing for the kids.
And anyone else! Fun themed areas from our favorite Disney movies. Disney character all around to say hello and take photos! A truly magical place!
A nice Disney Park with a lot of shows, movies and good
A nice Disney Park with a lot of shows, movies and good amount of rides. For some reason it feels a lot smaller and has an outdated feel compared to the other Disney Parks. This starts from the entry sign and the area being less impressive than Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Despite this they have a good amount of shows including an Indiana Jones Stuntacular, Beauty and the beast and two night time shows: one is a projector show in the china area and then Fantasmic which was an amazing water stage show. The rides were also fun with my favorites being the Aerosmith one and the Rise of the Resistance. The rise of the resistance ride is perhaps my favorite ride so far in all of Disney as it's super immersive. Overall a really fun experience here.
