Disappointment
Booked 7-10 days in advance for a special occasion with my husband for Tuesday 16th April. I specified in the reservation that it would be a special occasion. I arrive 5 minutes early (the reservation was at 10pm): I head towards the reception manager who immediately asks me if I had booked. The place was very full, there was a considerable number of people in the bar area queuing to order a drink and the background buzz was very confusing. The boy finds the reservation and instead of accompanying us for our special dinner in the dinner room, he gives us a table in the bar area, forced into a corner on one side and by the passage of the waiters and the noise of the people queuing to drink from the other. We try to sit down but we realize that we couldn't even hear each other within a few centimeters, so I go to the guy who had seated us and I remember that the reservation was for a special occasion and that it didn't seem like the right table. The boy replies that since it is the furniture fair, people book even a month and a half in advance. I lean into the intimate room and notice tables filled only and exclusively with foreigners, who I highly doubt bothered to book Giacomo Bistro a month and a half in advance (also considering families with children). Evidently our seat was given to someone who seemed more deserving. I ask the boy if it was possible to wait for a table to become free in the intimate room, as it was an important dinner, but another manager arrives and again starts asking me if I had booked. We leave the place and after a few meters I remember having left the credit card to confirm the booking, so my husband comes back and obviously asks us not to charge us the no-show fee (50 euros each), as we also showed up with in advance and having the restaurant practically relegated to the kitchen for a special occasion, and the staff even turned up their noses at this request. In the end the no show was not credited and the special evening ended with a pizza, thanks to Giacomo Bistrò and his ability to cultivate customer relationships. A real shame because unlike the tourists at the furniture fair I am Milanese, and it wasn't the first time I went to a restaurant in the Giacomo chain, nor would it be the last.

The octopus is good. Too many price increases on wine, as I know. Downsizing would allow you to drink more. Sorry for the frankness. Thank you

We had dinner at the Bistrot on April 7th 2024. What a pleasant evening😊 Very good friendly professional service and great food with focus on meat😊
Be the first to ReplyWe learn the trade and education
Rudeness and disorganization of the director: I book a table for two: I am told that there are 2 services at 8pm and 10pm.. I choose 10pm. I go to the restaurant and find the entrance hall full of people waiting at 9.50pm.. I approach and ask for my table and I was told in an inelegant way that I had to wait... let's have a drink, it's 10.30pm and I notice that there are 2 free tables that have been set for some time... I ask Again and I'm told I have to wait Because there are people who have booked for 9.45pm…. I report that the evening before I was told that there were only 2 services at 8pm and 10pm, here I ask how possible for a different booking... without even looking at me the manager tells me... you have to wait... dear manager I think that you should learn education first and then do a job like this.. but seeing how you acted last night, I advise you to change jobs.. and to be more polite to the people who bring you money in the company where you work.. obviously I left at 10.45pm after this response…NEVER AGAIN!!!! Good job to you pseudo director

Enchanting location, it feels like being in a French restaurant. Much appreciated. The menu does not have a wide choice but the cuisine is excellent to say the least.
Be the first to ReplyBAD SERVICE..
BAD SERVICE Good quality cuisine but limited choice. Interesting French style location. Too bad for the truly unspeakable service. We had to ask for everything several times. The waiters and the room manager are embarrassing. I highly recommend going to Giacomo next door (same property but much higher level)
Be the first to Replythe biggest rip-off in Milan
The Rip off by definition. A friend of our who visited Milan for the day and evening asked me for some recommendation for diner and one was Giacomo where I had not been in ages. I thought the location, season, evening and type of Milanese cuisine was ideal. Well I felt so embrassed for the bad choice. Our bill reached more than €550 in three with one starter and one meat to share + one bottle of wine. My husband ordered the wine, a simple and easy Valpolicella at €50 the bottle but for some reason the waiter wasn't convinced of my husband's choice and rather suggested a Pinot Nero from Trentino at €80. Then my husband's starter, a tiny mini tartar arrived that we shared in one fork each, so we added to that a plate of Cinta di Siena which was dry, baddly cut, and practically only fat. Then since there was not much choice (no tagliata) on the menu if we wanted a small and simple meat, we decided to share a piece of meat, and being in 3, we opted for a Tomahawk steak , after waiter's advise. We finished dinner with a coffee each (anda total of 4 bottles of water). The bill arrived with a shocking 550 EUR. In the bill they indicated two tomahawk steaks since (for some technical reason, the waiter said) when the weight of one piece of meat reaches more that 800gr, the computer cannot take it so they have to bill two pieces of meat (??) . The bill reached more than €550. I felt terribly guilty for the pick of the restaurant, terribly embrassed and ashamed to have suggested such a place in a city that has so such an so great choice and variety of good restaurants. Never again Giacomo !
