Let's start off with Muhammad, he came with great energy
Let's start off with Muhammad, he came with great energy and his recommendations were on point and definitely added to the overall enjoyment of my experience. I wanted more but my stomach couldn't hold anything else. The food was amazing I loved the atmosphere. When I come back I hope to try something different.
It was our friend's anniversary and they invited us.
Their cocktail selection was amazing. The fried Chicken was so good, the Beet Salad was ok, and the Margherita Pizza was nice, The ushroom crostini burrata has different tastes could not say it was a good or bad weird combination, not my favorite. We all loved Braised meatballs, The service was amazing. Great dinner experience, with a classy ambiance.
Met friends who live in DT Vancouver here while we were
Met friends who live in DT Vancouver here while we were visiting from WA. Made reservations for 5pm for a table for 6. Got there our table wasn't ready so we waited about 10min. We were escorted upstairs to be seated. Venue is gorgeous and from the outside you can't tell it had an upstairs. We brought our wine and corkage fee is $65/bottle which worked out well for us. Menu is tapas style, small plates and of course you have pizza which is a good size. Our server looked very annoyed with us and not sure why, we were slow due to our 94 year old grandma who needed additional time to decided. We felt rushed to order so finally got into ordering. They cater for allergies which is a HUGE plus for us. They mark the menu with what you can eat and I was impressed since my son has various allergies. Wish Seattle restaurants had this concept. We ordered a margarita pizza which was yummy. Crust was so good. We ordered pasta, salad, salon, which was spot on. Pork belly definitely was the star of the nite. It impressed everyone on the table. Dessert we had the S'mores which was SO fancy. It has chocolate moose in the middle and was such a yummy combo. In addition the sommelier recommended two local wines which we happily drank two bottles off. Our sever looked happier mid dinner so we all were happy. Not sure if the Greek and Indian loudness combined annoyed her This place I'm definitely coming back to especially knowing they take good care of allergies.
The chorizo pepperoni pizza was probably one of the best
The chorizo pepperoni pizza was probably one of the best pizzas I've had. Service was great and very nice vibes in the restaurant.
Nightingale has one of the best happy hour offering I've
Nightingale has one of the best happy hour offering I've experienced in recent years across several major cities. Apart from the interesting cocktails, the food menu is much more vegetable forward than is typical. Of the ten food items on the HH menu only three had any meat in them. I had the Paperplane, a bourbon based cocktail, that was delicious. My wife had the Portuguese white wine -- also delicious. We then shared the marinated olives, the beet salad, and the margherita pizza. All were superb. The bartender crew were delightful and did their best to provide cheerful, courteous service.
Service was ok.
Something just didn't click. Maybe it was us. We ordered several dishes to share. Some, like the focaccia, were underwhelming while others, like the buttermilk chicken, were really good. It was pretty pricey for the overall experience, so I'm just a maybe on whether to recommend.
The worst experience in my life the staff is the wordt did
The worst experience in my life the staff is the wordt did not even turn to see me at the face and there was no waiting line half was empty they treated us like garbage very disrespectful
Let me start by saying to all the Tik TOK and insta
Let me start by saying to all the Tik TOK and insta influencers raving about the "Must have" fried chicken.. cmon man!.. the infamous fried chx dish that people rave about is exactly what you think it's is, chicken strips with maple syrup and a pickle on top. Honestly truly one of the most overrated dishes ever. The kale salad was very good, I also got the pepperoni pizza which was good, my only (personal) issue was when I got my uneaten half to go the bartender used her bar hands to put the pizza in the to go box, I wish they would have just given me the box.. that's a personal thing cause I'm crazy about germs.. all an all the ambiance of this restaurant is beautiful, the chx OVERRATED! I would perhaps go back to try other things..
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the nightingale on West
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the nightingale on West Hastings street! From the ambiance to the service to the quality of food, everything was a 10/10 and I can't wait to come back again. We came during happy hour (3-5pm) which has a wide selection of snacks. Obviously we tried a bunch of dishes including the beet salad, cauliflower hummus & bread, roasted portobello pizza, rigatoni, seafood spaghetti and the salted caramel cake for dessert. The standouts were the beet salad and the cauliflower hummus. I highly recommend this restaurant as everything we tried was delightful and the decor to service were impeccable.
Yes, yes yes!!! Outstanding ambience-tick! Outstanding
Yes, yes yes!!! Outstanding ambience-tick! Outstanding service-tick! Divine food-tick! First thing, this place oozes class with casual. No pretense, come as you are. Dress up or down you will feel welcome. My companion has a few food allergies. The floor manager went through the menuvto identify what was safe,?put a check mark for all the plates they could eat, then came to the table to review with us. Can't say how much that meant to us. Then the food came and was soooo delicious, I was smiling throughout the meal. We will make this a destination restaurant for future visits to Vancouver. Thank you to everyone at Nightingale that made our experience enjoyable and memorable!
Never again
Terrible service and not great food Very poor quality and snob waiter Kept waiting for my food without any explanation even though my guess were eating
Expensive disappointment.
Really disappointing “dinner” for 2. More like an expensive tapas bar than a restaurant. The fries arrived first on their own and were finished before the first main course came. One main course then came closely followed by the other vegetable. The second main course arrived when most of the vegetables were finished. Won’t be coming here again and would not recommend.
Cool vibe Beautiful restaurant Two
Cool vibe Beautiful restaurant Two story Pros- Location Decor Lovely waitstaff Great for large groups Some intimate corners Drinks - good Beet salad -tasty Fried chicken - tasty Desserts - good Cons- Accommodations Went there for a birthday celebration No acknowledgment w/dessert Initial table very unappealing Requested new table Mushroom Crostini - over salted Focaccia- oily and tough Meatballs - stale Overall under-whelmed
We finally came to try (after countless recommendations).
I am a pizza lover so it is only natural to come to a joint that does pizza rights. We came for happy hour and it was busy!!! The place is located in a gorgeous heritage building, with 2 floors and if you are lucky to sit upstairs, you get to see the pizza ovens and all that action! We started with the Kennebec fries, tomato, malt vinegar aioli. This dish is so unique and tastes just like ketchup chips! The malt dip is unique and such a great pairing. I personally wish the fries were a bit crispier as they were soft but over all, great dish! We also got Cauliflower hummus, chermoula, pickled celery, fife sourdough. The bread is heavenly and the hummus was thick with texture (which I prefer). So much flavor and the oil bath it was in was so flavorful. I wasn't a huge fan of the pickled celery. Than we go their Roasted brussels sprouts, green onion, thai chili vinaigrette. Don't skip this dish. The brussels are bright and perfectly cooked, the sauce is so flavorful and really needed more of it to bathe the brussels! Don't skip this one! We also got the Charred savoy cabbage, miso, soy, honey. I love cabbage but this one was not for me. It was very rich and a bit too salty. Lastly for food, we got the Roasted mushroom, fontina, confit garlic, arugula pesto. Huge chunks of soft and spreadable garlic, the mushrooms are so delicious, and the pesto is such a nice touch. I would have liked more of it because it was so good! That crust is teeth sinkable and so delicious! Great pizza! On recommendation from the server, we got the Salted caramel pot de crème, vanilla breton, butterscotch! Shit this was good! I'm thinking of it right now. Not overly sweet and so many layers of textures. Service is top notch! Decor is stunning. Food is great! I want to go back now!
What I enjoyed most about Nightingale was our
What I enjoyed most about Nightingale was our waitress/server. I'm vegan and she personally marked my menu with all vegan options. She was kind and attentive! Our food was delicious. I am sad I do not live in Vancouver to dine there again. However, when I go back I will be making my way to, Nightingale!
Trendy
Say 4.8 Service was excellent (5.0), food was very good - creative, visually attractive, tasty. Reasonably priced. Decor very nice. Comfortable. Music playing at a not too loud level. Lots of young people. Lots of wines and cocktails available.
Dropped in for post concert drinks and it was ok.
I guess to those who know what they like, their standard signature drinks can be different. We tried a few, Nightingale Martini (listed as 2.5 oz) $18 (2/5) Where to start? So.... a standard martini at a nicer restaurant is usually considered two drinks, so them indicating it is a 2.5 oz in addition with the rest of the other ingredients. This martini unaltered is considered one drink. Unless indicated one wants a double. So to those who usually orders a martini, Nightingale's standard is 1 drink or half a martini to most martini drinkers. Or if you are a regular, you need to order a double. I had to explain this to my American friends multiple times over the years. Espresso Martini (2.5/5) Nothing special BB Old Fashioned (3/5) This was a better concoction Signature Side car (2/5) Too sweet, brandy is already sweet and round, the combo of the cointreau etc... was too much. Positive Description on the menu was clearly visible and honest about what was included. With signatures lean towards the sweet palate. Negative Can't really recommend to those who know what like as it can be too frilly.
If you are looking for a great downtown restaurant this is the place!!
Super fresh, clean, modern flavours with a cool ambiance to match. I had the beet, orange and feta salad followed by the King Salmon. Both dishes were fantastic. The service was fast, professional and as always in Canada, super friendly.
Nightingale can be easily missed from the outside, but once
Nightingale can be easily missed from the outside, but once you step inside, you'll be transformed to rustic meets modern design with a cozy feel. Walls have mounted avian figurines, the bar is adorned with bird cages, and ceilings have hanging wagon wheel style chandeliers. I stopped by on a rainy weekday at 9 PM for a late dinner one hour before closing, and the restaurant was still full of patrons. There was no wait to sit at the bar. I started off with the Bramble cocktail (CA$15), which was gin, blackberry, and lemon. It was a delicious balance of sweet and tart. For a side, I opted for the grilled broccolini with calabrian chili vinaigrette, parmesan, parsley (CA$16), which was tender but not overcooked, had a good amount of char for smokey flavors, and was mildly spicy from the chili. And for the main, I tried the spaghetti with manila clams, jalapeno, scallion, white wine (CA$24), which was really good but a bit on the oily side. Overall great extensive food and drink menu, beautiful ambiance, fast and friendly service. They have late afternoon/early evening happy hour deals too!
Service is great and so is the atmosphere.
Fantastic venue to share meals in a group as most of their meals are for sharing. The steak was cooked to perfection and the potato that comes with it balances out the richness. For 24oz it was $150. Other notable dishes were the fries. It has some sort of magic seasoning that I will definitely come back for.

I had the buttermilk chicken which was tasty but very breaded and extra crispy. Disappointing The Japanese sweet potato app was delightful. Perfect sweet and spicy combo.

Set in an understated older building with a plain facade, understated elegance on the outside and a warm convivial attitude within. A nice find in downtown Toronto. A nice crowd of mostly younger people and a smattering of adventurous older couples. The absolute martini dirty was excellent and the service impeccable. They even had a pickled onion for the martini - a rare occurrence I've found, nowadays. I had focaccia as a starter, asparagus, and the ravioli. The focaccia was good but not typical focaccia. It was home made and very light and fluffy bs the denser version I expected. Not really any herbs in it either. Good but different. Then the ravioli came but no asparagus - each item is served on its own I see. The ravioli was delightful and the asparagus cooked to perfection - not too soft and not too firm. I would have to give a 5 - about as good as it gets....... or very close. Ask for my server Caesar- he was amazing.
Best Food & Drinks in Vancouver! OMG THE PIZZA 🍕😍
The best food and cocktails we had in Vancouver! We went off our waiters recommendations which was the citrus old fashioned, Baobab sour, Sangre margarita, brussle sprouts, maple chicken, Margarita pizza and homemade pasta it was all delicious! The pizza was the best we've ever eaten, such a lovely looking environment as well!
Great ambiance, really solid for date nights.
The charred savoy cabbage was outrageous. One of my favorite bites I've ever had. The fried chicken is also fantastic. I'd consider both absolute must-try if you're dining here. Service was very good. Our waitress checked in with us regularly. Overall it was a 10/10 experience.

Ambiance of this place is amazing! The lighting really sets the vibe of the place as a fancy and elegant restaurant. Food was great! Loved the braised meatballs and the ravioli. Pizza was good too but wasn't anything special. Food also came out relatively quickly. Service could've been better. We arrived exactly on time for our reservation but we were told our table wasn't ready yet and we had to wait. They were very apologetic and kind about it. Our server was nice, however, she really was the type to have a script to read. The food runners were very enthusiastic and we loved to see that!
A Great Restaurant: Fabulous Food and Great Service
This is an amazing restaurant. Super creative, delicious dishes with outstanding service and a beautiful setting. One of the best restaurant's I've eaten in ever! We had the brussel sprouts, ravioli, salmon and pot de creme. All were off the charts. I wish I lived closer; I'd be there always.
Go here
Delish. Lots of lovely choices. Family style everything. Tuna a tiny bit fishy, but still great. Morel crostini would be excellent warm. Amazing meatballs. Great cocktails. Pricey, but quality. Service amazing. Definitely recommend
A great culinary experience
We sat in a corner and found it beautiful, but a little loud. The food family style and was tasty, very high quality, innovative, and interesting. Service was lovely. Would definitely return.
Restaurant which does not facilitate differences.
Food is not bad but they will not make any adjustments and let us face it, today everyone has allergies. I have high cholesterol and I could not find anything on the menu that could support my doctor's recommendations - that is easy on the salt, only use olive oil and as they would not make any changes, well, too bad for me.
Great menu and nice decor
My partner and I went for lunch. The decor is beautiful and the setting is smart casual. We loved the food including pizza, beet salad and mussels. We will definitely go back. The service was prompt and friendly. Nightingale is great for couples, families and large groups too.
Give it a miss
Expensive, poor quality (cheap) cocktail and not much for atmosphere. More like a chain dining experience than a cosy cocktail bar.
Friendly and chill
We sat at the bar for an early dinner of shareables. The service was friendly, attentive, and helpful. My manhattan was a proper cocktail (I’m very picky when it comes to cocktails). The beet salad was fantastic, as was the bison sausage and roasted carrots. The meatballs were just what nonna would make. All in all, a pleasant experience.
Nice Night at Nightingale
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at this restaurant. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming. We were in Vancouver for one night, waiting to board a cruise, and we were delighted to come across this lovely restaurant for dinner. The food was very good, and we appreciated the excellent suggestions offered. The atmosphere is extremely pleasant. We will be back next time we are in Vancouver.
This was a family birthday at one of our favourite Vancouver places
The staff was courteous, helpful and unobtrusive. The serving style was home like and the servings were elegantly presented. All of the plates were delicious.
Birthday beyond birthdays
We sat at the chef's table. 15 of us had the most incredible experience! Service was above and beyond and the food!!!!!! Unbelievable! The dining experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am soooooo glad we chose Nightingale. Cheers
