Must stop for a date night or a large gathering with family/friends! I booked a dinner reservation for 13 girls (bachelorette party) and I was a bit hesitant at first because there are obvious fees associated with it and sometimes things come up! Needless to say we had an exceptional experience from the moment we walked in. We pre ordered Prosecco to the table for a toast which was delicious. They even created menus printed with a title of our choice. ALL the drinks were amazing and our server Sean was knowledgeable, attentive, and funny. Always had a smile on his face. The food courses were dropped on our table in a timely manner. We were never waiting for food or having to ask for the next dish. Stand out items were the falafel (almost didn't order but was amazing) whipped feta, salmon, beef and lamb kefta. Do NOT forget to order the date cake for dessert. The whipped cream and syrup on top was so tasty!!!! Also was hesitant to drop a % for tip pre being served but the service was immaculate and well deserved at 20%. Enjoy and thank you again!
Great ambiance, food was just ok and service was ok too.
I may come back but it will definitely not be my first choice.
Went this weekend and tried their new corn hummus and it
Went this weekend and tried their new corn hummus and it was spectacular - definitely recommend! Also would add the chicken skewers as a tasty and sharable option. Comes with veggies and rice.
This place was PHENOMENAL, from the ambiance and the bar
This place was PHENOMENAL, from the ambiance and the bar service to each bite of food and sip drink. Walking up is even an experience. I believe there are 3 different bars and 3 different dining areas. We started indoors but ended up outdoors at the bar to take advantage of the happy hour menu. You can't get it from the indoor dining room. Great choice because it was also so nice outside. No matter where you sit whether inside or outside it's going to be beautiful. I really wish I remembered or even knew how to spell our bartender/server's name. He was on it and had awesome, honest recommendations based on our interests. From the HH menu we had the hummus and whipped feta served with unlimited WARM FRESH PITA BREAD!! That pita bread can be dangerous. SO GOOD but adds up in case you plan on eating a main entree, lol. Amazing dips!! My cocktails of choice were the Mediterranean Mule and "Aloe! It's me". The aloe had a little more pepper flakes than for my liking. Thanks to the bartender, I was able to order Zeftedes from the HH menu also which was crispy and flavorful Greek lamb meatballs and just the right amount. I was eyeing a lamb/beef kabob on the regular menu, but it came with tons of rice and veggies and prob higher price. After filling up on apps (aka pita bread) this was the perfect solution - just the protein. I'm sure their rice and kababos are also delicious and looked good on other people's tables. We also shared brussel sprouts which were fine. For desserts we tried the basque cheesecake and sticky date cake which is made with whiskey caramel - both so decadent and served with whipped cream! I just didn't have space for more than a couple bites. Aba is an Austin experience I won't forget and highly recommend it to anyone visiting and near South Congress. Whether date night, girlfriend catch-up time, a birthday party or family dinner, make Aba Austin your next stop! You won't regret it.

Had lunch with 2 friends at Aba and everything was absolutely delicious! Our server was so patient and gracious with us, we were dealing with cancelled flights and not ready to order yet. He ended up getting us a free appetizer which was so sweet of him. We had the chicken kabobs and basmati rice, watermelon feta salad, grilled halloumi, and roasted potatoes. The appetizer was the 3 spreads with pita. Everything was delicious, I wish I lived closer to dine again!
FOOD: Spectacular dishes.
Our server gave us quite a few solid recommendations. The one that stood out the most to me was the sweet potato hummus. It's a good mix of sweet and savory. It goes perfect with pts, but it is even better with crudites (get some!) bc it's so refreshing! I also loved the Halibut (tender and not over done) and falafels (crispy!!). AMBIANCE: I really enjoyed the availability of outdoor and indoor seating. There's a bar in the outdoor area available as well. Great for grabbing a drink as you wait for a table. There's mist spraying out on the day I was visiting. Outdoor seating is absolutely beautiful with all the plants. PARKING: The restaurant is right above a parking structure and there's street parking available.
One of the coolest restaurants we have been to in a while!
One of the coolest restaurants we have been to in a while! My wife and I did a staycation in downtown and made dinner reservations at Aba. Make sure you make reservations weeks in advance or it'll be tough to get in. We ordered several small bites during dinner and it was plenty of food! We had crispy short rib hummus with homemade pita (INCREDIBLE!!!), whipped feta (Must try!), and Yellowtail. Each one of these had great flavors and definitely filled us up! The ambience is cool! We sat outside on the patio. Lots of lights, cool trees and plants. The vibe is definitely Austin! We walked back to our hotel after and had a great view of downtown at night. Great experience!
Wonderful first experience at Aba's.
The food was fabulous, the drinks were perfectly crafted and the service was amazing. Our server was Morgan was not only so attentive, she was also very knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations. The dessert was phenomenal. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Austin.

I absolutely adored my first experience at Aba! The waitress was amazing and so was the food. We sat outside and it was a beautiful patio and the service was fantastic. Extremely accommodating to allergies. We tried a few drinks, wine, the spicy lamb ragu and other things and everything was fantastic!! I will be recommending this to everyone and we will return.
Sunday Lunch
From the ambience to the service and the food, highly recommended. Did not expect the quality of the food, but I was totally impressed. Have to try the one they have in Bal Habour hopefully it’s the same service and food.
Yum!!! The food is amazing, but the interior and exterior
Yum!!! The food is amazing, but the interior and exterior also are beautiful and add to the ambiance. It has some of the best hummus I've ever had. The service was great as well. I would recommend coming and trying it if you like Mediterranean food.
Great Atmosphere. Great Food. Great Time.
Such a lovely restaurant tucked back in a corridor along South Congress. This place gets super busy so make a reservation at least a day in advance. We didn't do this and waited about 1 hr and 45 mins but it was worth the wait!! The menu features authentic Mediterranean dishes. Our order was: Drinks - Hill Country Old Fashioned & Aperol Spritz Hummus - Smokey Garlic Hummus Cold Mezze - Marinated Olives & Feta Main - Tamarind Braised Short Ribs Main - Charred Grilled Lamb Chops Dessert - Frozen Greek Yogurt The food was delicious and the atmoshere felt high-end but approachable. Our server was so friendly and we loved our experience here. Great place if your on South Congress!
Aba - Local Favorite Mediterranean
As a long time Austinite, Aba is a local favorite. Not only because the food is so incredibly fresh and delicious, but the vibe is so good. Especially the outdoor seating with the decking built around old, existing trees that are strung with lights. It's beautiful, romantic and such a great place to pass the time by with a loved one or friends and family. Last time I went with friends to catch up, lunch turned to dinner as we were there for over six hours, enjoying the food, vibes and plenty of champagne 🥂🍾❤
SoCo delicious restaurant
This is a great restaurant to spend time with friends and family the atmosphere is nice and the food was delicious. Try the lamb and the chicken but don’t miss the Greek yoghurt dessert with lemon!! And the hummus
Aba Gift Cards are a scam
Do not buy a gift card from Aba. It is a scam. We were gifted a gift card that my mom purchased from Aba's website. The staff acted strange when we told them we had a gift card and suggested we purchased it from a fake discounted website, though it was purchased from Aba's website and we had multiple emails to verify. We've lived in Austin for a long time and were excited about this special experience. It ended up being very embarrassing and we were disappointed that the staff was not more accommodating or willing to help. We will not be back.
Aba is one of the best restaurants in any place anywhere!
Aba is one of the best restaurants in any place anywhere! My bestie and I went for my birthday and enjoyed every second of the experience...The service is 5 stars, the ambiance is 5 starts (beautiful plants, lights, scents and decore are intentionally placed), and the food! Where do I begin? The food is flavorful, fresh, beautiful, light, and absolutely delicious! 10 stars for the food.
Fabulous vibe!!! Indoor or outdoor.
Delicious salads, dips, HOT PITA, great cocktails. Fun and festive! Great service! Loved it!
Love Aba! The food is always great.
I am the whipped feta and the short rib hummus are excellent starts. We also love the yellowtail crudo. I think we have had every main dish on the menu and they have all been delicious. Honey Pie and Greek yogurt ice cream with olive oil are a great way to end the meal. The wine list features wines from Mediterranean countries and we like to try something new every time. The staff and the bartenders really know their stuff. Great Vibe. Super fun girls night out or date night.
Great food and pretty atmosphere.
I like to get a hummus and share some whipped feta. The staff are also great and accommodating. They made me a mock tale that wasn't on the menu.
We traveled to Austin from Indiana last month.
This was by far the best meal we had in Austin. Everything was incredible but the short rib hummus was out of this world. Our service was top notch. Garrett was one of the best severs we've had in ages. Kind, funny, attentive, and full of wonderful recommendations. He also didn't push us to order more than we needed to feel comfortably full. Although after our appetizer I was ready to order the whole menu! I'm counting down the days until our next Chicago trip to check out the Aba there. It will be hard to be the beautiful patio in Austin though.
Best dining experience in Austin.
Food and wine off the hook! Just tricky to get in on short notice for business travel.
Aba is definitely on my list of my top 5 favorite
Aba is definitely on my list of my top 5 favorite restaurants in Austin! So good! The whipped feta.. drooling now. The staff is always so nice and welcoming and the service is always of quality. Not to mention the ambiance.. what a vibe. Still have yet to sit outside though. This place of course is always packed!!
Perfect combination of ambience, food and service.
... Loved everything from the cocktails to the main course.
Every TikTok recommended this place, friends raved about
Every TikTok recommended this place, friends raved about it, and reviews were stellar, so I was very hopeful for some delicious food. However, I was let down. Our waiter, Justin, was the friendliest person ever and was attentive. The food came out quickly, and the restaurant is super pretty, but the food was mediocre, and I wouldn't recommend for people to be spending their money here. My favorite was the muhamarra from the sampler spread platter we got. It was sweet and savory from the roasted peppers, and I'm drooling thinking about it. In addition, the famous brussel sprouts were decent. They were super crispy but soft on the inside, but they were a bit too charred for me. It would've been okay if there was more sweetness or citrus to balance it out, there was some from the harissa honey, just not enough. The two entrees were extremely disappointing. The Crispy Heirloom Chicken Thigh wasn't crispy at all, and the sauce was way too oily to be enjoyable. The Roasted Pork Belly was super soft, tender, and melted in your mouth due to how much fat it had, however, the cider jus didn't taste like much, and the spaghetti squash and honeycrisp apples were just there. The Sticky Date Cake is the best thing this restaurant has, and if you do happen to come here, this is a must order. The cake was soft and a little crispy on the outside, and the whipped cream was so fluffy. At least we ended lunch on a good note.
BETTER THAN THE BEST SELLING GROUP ABBA.
We visited here, for my Boyfriend's birthday, we were on holiday travelling from the UK. When researching where to book for restaurants, this place just kept coming up, so we booked it hoping it would live up to the hype, spoiler... it did! First impressions of the place were amazing, we were sat outside and the temperature was just perfect, we were already transported to a meddeteration vibe before we'd even ordered the food. I hope I rememberer his name correctly, but we were served by Joseph who gave us next level service, I'm not sure if this was because of my boyfriends birthday, but nevertheless, we couldn't fault him, he was so good at taking us through the menu and explaining everything, he was so much fun. We ordered the Lamb and Beef Kefta, The truffle baked orzo (A MUST!), and the whipped feta spread, paired perfectly with the fresh bread basket. We also ordered an Espresso Martini and a Carajillo, which were delicious, and were a life saver with the jet lag we had. Our server also organised a surprise little birthday cake with a candle, (we think it was the sticky date cake) which went down a treat. (a note to any soho house members, Soho House Austin is just next door for a cheeky pre-dinner cocktail!) All in all, we would love to go back, and this was such a special romantic dinner for my boyfriends birthday, worth the hype!
Aba is just incredible.
It's the best Mediterranean food in Austin (and dare I say the best in the US) everytime I am just blown away by how good the food is. It is pricey, but the experience is well worth it. We go ham on the apps to share everything family style. We ordered the Japanese Sweet Potato hummus, the truffle baked orzo, the potatoes, the green falafels, their heirloom salad and the Chicken Kabab. This was plenty of food for 3 people and we had enough leftovers for the next day. Every single dish is a 10/10. You must get the sticky Date Cake because it's so good. Every time someone is coming in from out of town I make sure to take them here!

What a wonderful surprise! Not gonna lie, we needed the restroom so we decided to have a drink at the outside bar. The bartender was friendly and made the most amazing Hill Country Old Fashioned. Amazing. It was a perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy a drink.
Super chic and cute spot to get a drink when it's hot! I
Super chic and cute spot to get a drink when it's hot! I loved everything about the service the space and the drinks. For happy hour they have some great deals. The patio area is so great and covered from the sun and the bar is so modern.
Awful service
The service has been consistently bad our last few visits and last night was the final straw. It’s a pity as the food is good but bad service is turn off and not worth the trouble. I spoke to manager and received a polite, but highly vacuous response. We were so relieved to leave the restaurant (the delays to the food were so long that we almost felt trapped) and will not be returning, ever.
A “raw” experience
Crowded and noisy to start. Great menu and the roasted potatoes are clearly the best dish on the menu. Stick to those veggie options to share. The salmon was dry, tasty but dry. The lamb chops, though ordered medium, were raw inside; not rare. Not an inexpensive meal and maybe a place to forget.
The Hype is REAL!
I had HIGH expectations for Aba after all the hype I heard and I’m happy to say that it still blew me away with immaculate ambiance, delicious food, and stellar service! Be prepared to eat your body weight in pita bread if you order any of the hummus or spreads because once you have one bite, you can’t stop… it’s that amazing (and unlimited)! Definitely try to book a reservation pretty far in advance if you can (and consider making a second reservation while you’re at it because you’ll immediately want to come back). SERVICE - The hostesses were very welcoming and pleasant… we got a text 15 minutes before our reservation time saying our table was ready and we got seated as soon as we arrived. Morgan was a fantastic waitress… she was super personable, checked on us frequently to make sure we had what we needed, and gave her opinion on food options when we asked (we ordered the Sticky Date Cake for dessert at her recommendation and it was just as amazing as she described). PRICE - I went into this meal thinking the menu seemed a little pricey BUT after seeing the portion sizes and tasting the items we ordered, I think the price point is extremely reasonable! WHIPPED FETA (10/10) - I couldn’t help but smile after every single bite of this! It has almost a cream cheese texture but a strong feta taste and the crushed pistachio on top pairs with it perfectly! Plus, the pita bread that comes with it is bottomless and is PHENOMENAL! The seasoning on the pita bread has almost a pizza flavor and the overall thickness and texture of the bread was exactly what I love for pita. This is a must order! CRISPY SHORT RIB W/ HUMMUS (10/10) - We had heard great things about this hummus but weren’t sure if we wanted to get it in addition to the whipped feta but I’m SO glad we got both! This is my favorite hummus I’ve ever had… the sherry and beef jus smack you in the mouth with flavor and there was tons of short rib! “Crispy” is the perfect description because it was tender and easy to pull apart into small pieces but still maintained a crispy texture on the outside. Just like the whipped feta, it comes with bottomless pita bread and is a must order! LAMB & BEEF KEFTA KEBAB (5/10) - This was the one disappointment… the kefta were pretty dry and lacking flavor. Especially after taking a bite of the short rib hummus and then taking a bite of this, it was night and day. The basmati rice and veggies on the side (cucumber, tomato, and red onion) were food but nothing special. The highlight was the small side of tzatziki, but overall my mouth was pretty sad while eating this. I wouldn’t get it again. GREEN FALAFEL (7/10) - I love falafel and these had a great level of spice and seasoning. They were super crispy on the outside without being oily and the tzatziki and tahini underneath added some great flavor as well. No specific complaints, it just didn’t knock my socks off. BRUSSELS SPROUTS (8/10) - I get Brussels sprouts pretty often at restaurants and these were very good! The harissa honey added a nice sweetness but there wasn’t any heat and the almond and cashew dukkah added a nice textural element throughout. Looking at them, I expected a little more crunch… they looked crispy but were on the softer side. If these were a little more crispy and had a slight heat, I’d give them a 10/10. STICKY DATE CAKE (10/10) - I almost always go for chocolate desserts but we asked our waitress for her preference between the Sticky Date Cake and the Chocolate Chocolate Cake and she immediately replied that the Sticky Date Cake was one of her favorite desserts ever so we followed her recommendation. After taking one bite, my thoughts were “chocolate, who?”… my tastebuds were doing a big happy dance because this was INCREDIBLE! The actual texture of the date cake was perfect… caramelized and crispy on top but then soft underneath. The whipped cream on the side was super light and had a great level of sweetness while the whisky caramel sauce made me want to lick the plate clean. I will order this every time I come! It’s hard for a hyped-up restaurant to impress me but Aba nailed it from start to finish! As soon as I got home, I was looking at the brunch menu and planning my next trip!
No more shrimp ?! What
Race cocktail was fun today .. but we were seated in the breezeway.. when I make a reservation, seat me under the tree please.. my very favorite dish in all of Austin is the shrimp from Aba. I adore this dish and they have gotten rid of it in the last month!! ..gosh.. I just don’t know why that would happen. I bring anyone who visits here.. of course the mezze and the kabobs and yellowtail , Greek salad.. all good..but that shrimp scampi served in an escargot type plate w breadcrumbs and butter ..it’s amazing. I may boycott for a while just for this .sorry Aba but that just not ok. Tried the crab dip..nope not even close . So I will chicken carage at Loro and panzanella salad at Red ash when they re open.. and even get shrimp scampi from North Italia and soup dumpling at Lin and Wi, oyster at Perla’s and Clarkes while I consider if I can forgive the chef at Aba .tear
Great special occasion spot
This was a fun, special occasion, ladies lunch spot - a little pricier than I'd normally choose & love. The atmosphere & service were great. The food was fantastic. We enjoyed the lunch dip sampler appetizer and got two kabobs to share amongst 3 adults. The chicken kabob in particular was flaky and absolutely delicious.
Fantastic restaurant on South Congress
The food is amazing with a fantastic atmosphere, both indoor and outdoor. Celebrated my birthday here with girlfriends, and everything was simply delicious. Don't miss the unique yogurt dessert!
Worth the Wait … Great Dining Experience …
Ate dinner here last night with my wife. Well worth the wait of an hour, having put our name on the waiting list at 5 PM. It has taken us a year to get here, and wow, really special place and meal! Had drinks while we waited. Great people watching! Drinks were pricey, but typical Austin upscale prices really, and delicious. One of the best martinis I’ve had in years. Seated outside for dinner by a beautiful oak tree. Even though Austin is oppressively hot right now, it was pleasantly cool enough while we ate dinner. Our server, KJ, see picture, was excellent. Made excellent recommendations, was friendly and attentive, and definitely added to an altogether. Fantastic dining experience. We had the brisket hummus with crudités and gluten-free chips. I hesitate to use the word outstanding, but it’s accurate. The sashimi yellowtail was world-class. Fresh tasting with a little citrus kick Delicious and refreshing. Brussels sprouts were way up the list of best in Austin. For the entree, had the salmon kebab, which was an aA+ plus dish, nice portion of salmon, which was perfectly grilled and moist. Also had some type of cheese kebab that was grilled. The cheese was delicious in terms of the first bite, but you need to eat it while it’s still (delivery) hot or it becomes pretty ordinary. A truly great meal. This restaurant should have a higher rating in my opinion The ambience, service and, food were all top-notch. Not inexpensive, but well worth it! We will definitely be back. Soon. Thanks KJ, for a great dining experience! The underground parking is challenging, overly crowded, and $20 by the time you’re done with dinner. Don’t let that be a buzz kill, although it is an added expense.
Great casual restaurant with delicious food and amazing service
We went to Aba restaurant for our wedding anniversary lunch and absolutely loved it. Everything from the exterior decor, to friendly welcoming hostess ( we had a reservation for 2 pm, but came earlier around 12 pm and even though they were supper busy they sat us at a table immediately no questions asked). The food was delicious, we had the lunch special platter as well as the lamb/beef kofta kabobs followed by a halva desert. The food is fresh and makes you want more. The cocktails from the bar were right on point as well. The waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. We truly enjoyed eating at Aba, highly recommend it and will come back for sure!
Happy 4th lunch ..shrimp and kebab and orzo yum
We never miss Aba when we are in town .. love the shrimp and yellowtail and mezze Trio ..tried lamb kebab and new tomato orzo today.. delish. Wonderful sitting outdoors before too hot ..only negative was a terrible rude inconsiderate couple w 2 poor dog citizens who barked whole time. Spoiled a perfect environment for everyone else there . Management should have reseated them or excused them …not fair to everyone else enjoying such a beautiful Time . There were 3 other dogs there who were perfect/silent . We often bring our pup to outside venues because he is well trained. Like children…well behaved dogs and littles should come along and enjoy .. poorly behaved ones should stay home so mom and dad can enjoy themselves w other adults doing the same . We all work too hard to go out and enjoy ourselves to have to endure your poor manners
All round, top notch! Had the brisket hummus and the crispy
All round, top notch! Had the brisket hummus and the crispy pork belly, both delicious. Great attentive service as well.

Food was fantastic but especially the smoky garlic hummus and Brussels sprouts. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and had great recommendations. Would definitely come back.
Amazing service, food is beyond! I recommend the crispy
Amazing service, food is beyond! I recommend the crispy pork belly!!! Also the potatoes are to die for. The whipped feta is out of this world! Our server was 10/10. Her name is Molly! She is the best!
One of the chicest Mediterranean restaurants in town, right
One of the chicest Mediterranean restaurants in town, right near Soho House. They have the most beautiful decor. The dips are great, the Salmon Kebab was divine. We didn't love the crispy potatoes, super fried but if that's your thing.. Everyone loved the Sticky Date Cake to end the night.
Aba is a must see spot in Austin.
Make sure you grab a reservation at least a month in advance to secure your spot. The Mediterranean food really hits the spot! The naan bread and the hummus is an amazing appetizer. The chicken kebabs still live on in my dreams. Plus the ambiance is amazing as well. Beautiful scenery right in the heart of South Congress! If you don't make a reservation, at least you'll have some shopping to keep you entertained while you wait!
Waited almost 2 months to get a decent reservation at this
Waited almost 2 months to get a decent reservation at this hot Mediterranean restaurant on South Congress. It's definitely a vibe - beautiful interior and lovely outdoor patio dining space. Service was friendly and attentive. The menu has some great shareables. My friend and i started with the mushroom hummus which is delicious and comes with warm pita. I'm gluten free and was pleased that offer both crudités and gluten free crackers. Most of the main courses just consist of the proteins so sides are a la carte. Had the brussels which were delish. For my entree I had the salmon kabob which was good, not great. They have an extensive wine and cocktail list. I love that they have some great zero proof cocktails as well. Overall, I enjoyed the experience though I'm not sure it lived up to my high expectations given the 2-month wait!

One of the cutest brunch spots in Austin! Aba is one of the restaurants that I keep coming back in ATX and it's also a great place to introduce to your friends who are visiting Austin from other cities. Located in the heart of South Congress, ABA is beautiful inside out. I love their interior seatings as much as the outdoor patio. Perhaps try outdoors during the winter and indoors during the summer. It's a cute spot to hangout and their Mediterranean cuisines and cocktails are just delicious!! Of all the staff we met, they've been pretty friendly and nice. One time we requested to change table to the outdoor patio and they were pretty accommodating. The only thing is, since this place is so popular, make sure you make reservations in advance before you go to avoid the long wait. But even if you decide to walk-in, there are so many cute shops in the hood where you could walk around and kill the wait time :)
Amazing.
I was left speechless. Immediately, the ambiance drew me in. Very cute tapas-style place. Our server, Morgan, was incredibly helpful. She recommended 3-4 dishes for a party of two to share. We got the wild mushroom hummus, crispy potatoes, green falafel, and chocolate chocolate cake. Everything was exceptional. Easily the best restaurant I've been to in Austin.
One of the best and cutest brunch places I have been too.
The esthetics of the place is on point. I was glad I was able to try this place out after not making it to my reservations on Saturday because I was waiting in line for texas bbq. Lol. I was lucky that there was reservations for the next day at 1045. The hostess was very kind and sweet and asked if we want to sit inside or outside, which the outside was very cute too but I wanted to sit inside. To start we orders a couple brunch drinks which I can't remember what I got but it was really good and not too sweet. To order we had mushroom hummus, strawberry biscuits, citrus shrimp, whipped feta, shashouka, potatoes and salmon rice plate. Everything was so good! They only thing we didn't care for was the citrus shrimp and should have switched the potatoes for Brussels but the potatoes were good and crispy. Our favorites were the whipped feta, strawberry biscuits and the salmon plate. Whipped feta was delicious with the warm pita bread and I enjoyed the crunch pistachios. Biscuits were one of my favorites. It was crunchy on the inside and soft inside and loved the cream and strawberry's it came with. Salmon was tender, loved the green sauce and the rice was nice and fluffy.Definitely a must try while visiting Austin and will have to come back to try more dishes.
Aba is perhaps the only place I'll confidently pair frozé
Aba is perhaps the only place I'll confidently pair frozé with charred eggplant dip. The bread? Manna from heaven. The orzo? Baked to perfection. The ambience? Weirdly clubby, but we Shazammed at least 4 songs. And no rez no problemo! We only waited 30 minutes (finesse) and the cherry on top was Le labo soaps in the gender neutral restroom. Ily Aba see u soon baby girl
Delicious food but make a reservation! We stopped in for
Delicious food but make a reservation! We stopped in for lunch without a reservation and sat at the bar. Hummus - amazing and pita yummy. The salad with tomato was so so to skipable. But the chicken skewers and rice were the best meal I've had in Austin. Seriously tender and perfectly flavored chicken and the rice had interesting and yummy flavors. It was a chilly day so it was freezing since they keep the massive window open. That's the only con but worth it to eat the yummy food.
I was visiting Austin for work and came here for a birthday
I was visiting Austin for work and came here for a birthday dinner. The food was delicious, and the service was great. We orders hummus, whipped feta, and the lamb and beef kefta. They were kind enough to offer a birthday dessert and recommend the sticky date cake and it was absolutely wonderful. I will be back next time I'm in town!!
I wanted to love Aba: The ambience is incredible.
But the food is just not worth the hype nor the price. My mom's chicken thighs could and do run circles around these; seasoning is your friend, Aba. The whipped feta is magnificent, though: Ate it plain with a spoon.
