I try to limit myself to eating here once a month since
I try to limit myself to eating here once a month since Palm Springs is filled with great restaurants, but since this place really is my favorite Italian restaurant anywhere, I end up here more often. I love their cocktails, especially their cosmopolitans, and enjoy it with their fresh baked focaccia bread served with chopped garlic and fresh tomatoes to start. I have a hard time deciding between the aglia and olio, their salmon rigatoni, or their pesto, or their caprese. I love it when you can choose between rigatoni, or spaghetti, or fettuccine, no matter which sauce you order. Tonight, I opted for the delicious creamy salmon rigatoni, which the chef personally served to me. Bon appetit! Service is always professional and friendly. I enjoy sitting on the patio even in the summer heat since it is shady and they have excellent misters. In winter, their heaters work great, or thAppรฉtit! booths and tables are cozy, encircling their bar.

Talk about service, these folks have it figured out! We stopped in because we had never been there before so why not? Good idea! The food is lovely. We had the daily soup special, zucchini which was delicious and a great beet arugula salad. Next was pesto pasta and veggie pasta.. outstanding. We of course enjoyed wine too but the service was amazing. We'll definitely be back.

The food quality was so bad :( I felt extremely sad I had spent so much of my hard earned money on low quality food. Meatballs were 100% grey inside and outside...no sear on them at all. Bread tasted like store bought white bread. The veal was SO chewy. We left and got food to go somewhere else to salvage date night. Sorry, I hate leaving bad reviews but I also really hate when a business charges SO much for their food and serves food with absolutely no love.
Be the first to ReplyWow! What an incredible dining experience.
Fast welcome, quick seating, an awesome menu that truly delivered. They made celebrating my birthday quite special. I look forward to returning soon to further explore the menu.

Great outdoor seating with friendly staff serving delicious Italian food. What's not to like? Hard to go wrong with what you pick here. I went safe with the steak+aglio e olio, but I also recommend anything with their famous "pink sauce."

For my first time in Palm Springs and not having a single clue of where to eat, ending up at Al dente Trattoria was the best decision made. The service was on point and the atmosphere was amazing. The food was absolutely amazing. Best italian food I've ever had.

Be the first to ReplyMy husband and I went to Aldente Trattoria for New Year's
My husband and I went to Aldente Trattoria for New Year's Eve dinner. We had an 8pm reservation and got there early. The hostess was kind enough to seat us early. By no means was the restaurant crowded and it looked like it was well staffed. When we got to our table, I have to say nobody came to us to greet us and ask us if we wanted a drink. The hostess then stopped by and asked if our drink order was taken and we said no, she immediately took care of that for us. When the waiter came by, he did apologize and used the excuse, if we have had one more person working, we would be more on top of things (paraphrased). I ordered a ceaser salad for an appetizer and the grilled shrimp for my main course. My husband just ordered an entree of Veal Cutlet Parmesan but wanted it to be modified by not putting any tomato sauce on the cutlets and pasta. He wanted it on the side so he could put a little on. The ceaser salad arrived and it was pretty good. When the entrees arrived, my grilled shimp looked good however, I noticed the shells and feet were attached. There is no way you can eat that with a fork and knife. I had to eat it caveman style with my hands. Please note I do it think it was seasoned with salt and pepper, it was quite bland. It was accompanied by 1 small quartered potato and some veggies that were definetly frozen. It was not special or memorable. I did manage to eat it all since I was hungry. When my husband received his meal, there was cheese and sauce all over the cutlets so we had to send it back and repeated to the server what we wanted. He said he told the chef but it fell upon deaf ears. The sad part is I had to eat my meal separate from my husband which was quite annoying. When his meal was returned, he notice the cutlet was breaded only on one side, which was quite strange. He managed to each everything and at this point, our special NYE dinner was over and we both said, it was nothing special. We skipped desert but I had a delish cappuccino. ( that was the only thing that made me smile) We are locals of Palm Springs and based on this experience at Aldente, we will not be going back or recommending it to anyone we know.
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance inside and out is charming.
We are from San Diego and we're expecting it to be expensive. It is reasonable and the quality of service and food is awesome!Gonzalo and all staff were attentive and took pride in their work. The food was a 10. The Cesar salad was the best! My risotto was the best I have ever had. 4/4 of us loved our food and dining experience.Must go!

Service was ok. Felt rushed but ok. Did not enjoy my meal, it was so so spicy that I couldn't even eat it at all. Cesar salad was a couple pieces of lettuce with 2 crotons on it. Extremely disappointed and won't be back.

The staff is all wonderful and gracious, the food magnifico, and I loved my waiter, Scott! Intelligent, charming, well read, and might I add, very handsome... He's married but he and I shared more in common in one hour than my husband and I in twenty years together. I didn't think a 30% tip did him justice but I have to save up for a trip.

The team at this intimate and colorful Palm Springs staple was great, our server Scott was personable, engaging; all our food was fabulous and it's in a convenient location. Great place, could see making this a first stop in PS, and then repeating often.- "The bunch versus several" team
Be the first to ReplyI would give this place 3.
5 stars overall- I had just landed in Palm Springs after a series of delayed flights and needed something delicious and filling, my normal Palm Springs spot was full, so my boyfriend and I decided to give this place a go. It's a pretty small, semi casual Italian restaurant. We were sat at a table in the back of the mostly empty restaurant, which we quickly noticed was directly under a bathroom vent. Yup, you guessed it, it smelled horrendous and was noticed immediately by both of us. We're not normally ones to complain to restaurant staff, so we dealt with it for a while until the smell dissipated. By the time our main courses got there, the smell was gone and the food was good, nothing crazy special, but definitely satisfying after a long day of travel. We decided to order some tiramisu & gelato for desert, and the tiramisu was fantastic! Unfortunately, about halfway through our desert, the smell from the bathroom vent returned in full force, causing both of us to completely lose our appetite. We struggled to finish our delicious desert until the smell was so unbearable that we had to leave. I would consider getting food to go if I were to eat there again, but I don't think I'd be able to stomach sitting anywhere in the general vicinity of the vent. There is also outdoor seating, unfortunately the weather simply didn't allow it that night. Moral of the story, if you choose to eat here, just be wary of where you are placed, it has potential to be delicious!

Amazing service and food! The entire staff was very accommodating and efficient. They knew what we wanted before we did! The food was delicious, more than adequate portions, and affordable. Fast and well balanced drinks. Best tiramisu!

On the quiet end of Palm Canyon with a lovely patio and dining room. Service was excellent as was the food. For a Saturday evening the place was about 1/4 full from the time we were seated at 5:30 until we left 90 minutes later. One small hiccup. The guy at the host station really needs to up his customer service skills. When your dining room is 1/4 full and it's 5:30, the first thing you do is welcome the guests. Don't start with "do you have a reservation?" Dude you should be grateful you scored a 2 top. After welcoming guests, casually ask "Did you call ahead". But at no time should the guests feel " did we walk all this way, pastDozens of restaurants only to be turned away ?" It didn't make the restaurant feel exclusive, only that the host was a jerk.

This may be my favorite Italian place in the whole desert! Drove past this place many times and finally decided to try it. First of all, THE SERVICE. It is so refreshing to have staff so attentive to every little detail. They began to gang up when the bill arrived LOL we got warm bread, fresh tomato garlic Bruschetta and bottles of olive oil & balsamic vinegar all for the table without request. Fresh ground black pepper, parmesan, wine selection all on point. Can't wait to try the pesto next time!
Be the first to ReplyMy friend and I showed up without a reservation, an hour
My friend and I showed up without a reservation, an hour before closing. We were seated promptly on the patio and had a heater nearby for warmth. The customer service was top notch from beginning to end, the waiters took care of our every need, & even brought us a tasting before purchasing a glass of malbec wine. We had just driven an hour for dinner and all our friends had cancelled for dinner, but Al Dente turned our night around, with their delicious food, we indulged in a salad, wine, primivera con pollo, and tiramisu. This was my girlfriend's first time at Al Dente and now she can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyIt was a near miss for us.
ย Our salad was the special and it was great, fresh and tasty. ย The bread was stale. ย Reheated rolls and focaccia that was tasteless. ย The veal special was common place. ย The steak was over cooked and no one came back to check. ย Refills of tap water were warm and without ice. ย Lost sale on 2nd glass of wine. ย We waited and tried to flag down waiter. ย From the looks of the patio and blackboard specials we feel it should have and could have been way better. ย Wanted to try dessert but decided not to risk it. ย Staff was friendly so that gives it a plus... but too busy to check back on us. ย Wish it were a higher review.

Four of us celebrated a birthday at Al Dente this past Sunday. All of our entree's were very good and service was spot on. The lobster ravioli was delicious as well as the lasagna special. Give it a try and hopefully you won't be disappointed, we weren't.
Be the first to ReplyPLEASE avoid this place.
.. we went here on Valentine's Day, had a pre fixed dinner and it was a disaster. The wait for our server was taking forever. We get it , it's Busy but he could Atleast be more attentive. Finally our drinks arrived then followed by their ย 'Bread' which was already a sign to get out..I ordered meatballs and Mare e monti which was simply ย .... " I do not know why would they even serve this to customers " - Horrible!!! ... the food was cold and tbh inedible and tasted really overcooked, the seafood the pasta! and Finally! The Cheesecake arrived for dessert.. and it was still hard and Frozen! Unbelievable. Will definitely recommend to Please avoid and look somewhere else.
Be the first to ReplyI received a message from the manager/owner.
I let my husband deal with it. We got one refund for the double charge, they offered a gift card, and an apology. My husband felt a little better and that's all I want. It was nice of them to also add half off the original meal since I ate 2 meatballs, part of a martini and took my dessert home. I'm gonna consider going back because they confirmed the asparagus wasn't suppose to be cold so maybe they just had a really off night. We'll see. Thank for them reaching out.
