Al Ristoro del Moro Ravello Reviews from The Last Year
Rude and unrefined
Rude staff especially the boy, who while I went to the bathroom wanted to know at all costs who I was and what I was doing in line in front of the bathroom door... mediocre food anyway. It is saved for the stupendous view
It could be better
Pros Amazing view Limoncello at the end for free And dessert was good Cons Below average food. Everything needed salt The small fish for $25 euros no worth it
Among tasteless dishes passed off as haute cuisine and chefs who swear
The only positive thing about this restaurant is the view, truly breathtaking. For the rest a terrible experience. The fundamental problem lies in the fact that the restaurant presents itself as sophisticated and refined (elaborate descriptions of the dishes on the menu, service that tries to imitate high-level restaurants, especially very high prices, and so on), but in fact it is not and the dishes are absolutely banal and certainly not of quality. Before talking about the dishes, however, I cannot help but mention that, for the entire duration of lunch, as the kitchen was very close to our table and with the door open, we could clearly hear the chef shouting and swearing with his his colleagues. Now, the situation was so comical that sometimes we even laughed, but it is clear that this is unacceptable in any establishment, let alone in a (self-styled) quality restaurant like this. Returning to the dishes, I find it absurd how one can even think of charging 18 euros for a "peasant starter" consisting of three slices of mozzarella (tasteless, probably bought at the supermarket), a round slice of provola thrown in like a pizza block on a couple of badly toasted lemon leaves (provola which is also tasteless), and a block of anonymous aubergine parmigiana. I attach a photo of the dish in question to give you an idea. We then have, again at 18 euros, a "Hot seafood appetizer" consisting of a salad of calamari, mussels etc. I had serious doubts about the freshness of which (the calamari in particular was rubbery and, again, tasteless). The most ridiculous dish, however, is certainly the "Spaghetti with clams and bay leaves": it is almost impossible for such a dish to have no flavour, and yet they managed it, it literally tasted like nothing and I'm not exaggerating (ah, obviously, the bay leaf wasn't there, it was a very banal pasta and clams, poorly made to boot, at the modest price of €22). Ah, let's spread a merciful veil over the bread: hard and difficult to eat, not even that they managed to do decently. Between one blasphemy and another from the chef, the bill finally arrives, a good €172 for having eaten literally nothing, or rather, we ate something but evidently the flavors of the ingredients were not included in the price. Literally a scam. In conclusion, if you want to watch an overpriced cabaret show from the kitchen staff (evidently too busy doing this rather than preparing the dishes) while gazing at the magnificent panorama of the Amalfi Coast, this is the place for you. Otherwise, forget it.
Great view!
Very good restaurant with an amazing view of the Costa Amalfitana. The food was delicious and the waiters were very kind. I do recommend!

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
