Fantastic translation of their Rome and Florence locations.
Be prepared to be in line for at least an hour at peak times. I went at 3pm and it was only 15 mins. There are 5-8 people making sandwiches behind the counter to meet demand. The interior is VERY narrow so it becomes very hectic. There is a line on the left for delivery pickups and on the right for standard pickup. It is tight. The servers seemed overworked so weren't friendly and just asked for my order and didn't acknowledge they heard me. They went on to make the sandwich but it just felt a bit nasty.I can't fault the food. I got the Boss and it is exactly the same high quality sandwich I got in Italy. I love that truffle cream - it is deep and earthy. They pack it full of pecorino and meat. The bread is soft and crusty. Just wonderful.
Be the first to ReplyService was good and everyone was pleasant.
There was a line but nothing crazy. I ordered the paradiso and del boss. Between the two, I preferred the paradiso. It has a different flavor profile with the nutty sweetness from the pistachio cream mixed with the saltiness from the mortadella. All in all not bad but I don't think it's worth the hype or price. There was barely any meats in either sandwich and everything seemed ever so slightly stale. I got the end pieces of both meats on the slicer and my bread was not warm or crunchy/soft anymore. The ingredients also seemed to be left out too long. Could be the random time I went--got there around 3:40pm on a Friday. I'd try it again earlier in the day but then probably have to deal with a larger crowd...

Italian sandwich here is insanely good! You can order something entirely savoury, or something savoury with a little sweetness in it. The toscana and dolcezze d'autunno (not pictured) are both on the sweeter side, but the second one is a lot more fatty. That second one goes really well with the schiacciata del boss (not pictured) since they kinda balance each other out. I also like putting it in the air fryer for a minute or two so the bread is warm and the cheese is melted.

Passed by this very famous spot in Florence on my last trip to Italy, but the line was always long so I never made it in. Same deal in NYC, but I have more time to wait here! I got in line at 12:30 on a Saturday and it was out the door, but I had sandwiches in hand within 20 minutes. I ordered:+ La Schiacciata Del Boss - Prosciutto toscano, pecorino toscano, and truffle cream - this was the ofc the best sandwich, I mean that truffle...+ La Summer - Prosciutto toscano, mozzarella, tomato, basil - also worthy! The sandwiches are pricey, but huge - definitely shareable. Ask them to cut them in half if you're sharing! They also have some rotating specials, so check the chalkboard while you're in line.

Direct from Italy to New York, All'Antico Vinaio brings us the very best sandwiches you are ever going to eat. Not the jumbo sized ones or crazy combinations you see on TV or on Instagram, these are simply high quality, well made combinations that are delicious. Nothing fancy, just a simple sandwich that relies on the best ingredients. The storefront is basic and service is good.
Be the first to ReplyTried the La Schiacciata Del Boss sandwich and loved it!
Tried the La Schiacciata Del Boss sandwich and loved it! The sandwiches are large, definitely a lunch portion meal or even shareable if you're not that hungry. The sandwich was $20, so a little on the pricey side but it tasted great. I would go back. There was no wait when we went on a Sunday around 5pm.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered a La Summer yesterday and it taste so good.
It has a good filling. Very fresh meat and veggies. Its pleasantly good and so satisfying. Wonderful selection of food and everything was freshly made. Nice staff and great service.

I got La Summer sandwhich, which is, prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, and basil. There is way too much bread for this sandwhich first off. Secondly the sandwhich was very dry needed some oil or balsamic glaze on the bread to make the sandwhich better. Ingredients howevwr tasted good, and tomato and basil were fresh. Not enough prosciutto and mozzarella on this sandwhich for $20, also could have used more basil. Definitely not worth $20, maybe $12 at most. This place does not live up to the hype and will not go back. There are way better italian sandwhich places in the city and other boroughs. Tourist trap here definitely. But for a nyc born and raised italian, this is subpar!

I have been dreaming about this sandwich since I first jwdI went to the original location in Florence and was so happy to hear that the NYC pop up shop was here to stay. We ordered the Del Boss and La Paradiso (and preferred the Del Boss) The prosciutto is perfectly sliced and salty and the spreads make the sandwiches. And everything is so fresh especially the bread which comes out piping hot. There can be a line outside because the shop is small but it moves quickly and is worth any wait time. Such an amazing addition in midtown!

Line out the door for lunch! They were quick on getting everyone through the line. We got sandwiches and walked over to Central Park to eat. Had the Del Boss and loved the truffle on it! I also got one of their Italian lemon sodas - it was refreshing! Great lunch spot!

My son and I stumbled upon this place on our way to the gelato place two shops down. We shared a La Dante and we're absolutely speechless. Hands down the best sandwich we have ever eaten. Bread was freshly baked, and every topping in the sandwich was to die for. Absolutely going back again on our next trip to the city.

3.5all from my brother who came here cause he had them in florence and "this is good, but ain't it." porchetta sandwich in florence uses this fresh roasted porchetta + crispy shards of the skin/fat and this was just very cold and a bit too greasy. la favolosa didn't taste right either (just too rich?? too cold??? idk the proportions were off). loved their pistachio cream though on one of the sandwiches I got. they are HUGE so if you're near bryant park and want a good (still very solid sandwich!!) to eat while you're chilling in the park, stop by. no seating inside, just tables by the window for standing.
Be the first to ReplySmall sandwich shop with traditional Italian sandwiches
Small sandwich shop with traditional Italian sandwiches that were unique and delicious! The sandwiches come in a square shape, which I thought was fun and the bread was really good. I got the La Schiacciata di Manolo, which I really enjoyed because they gave so much truffle oil and meat. The spicy eggplant inside was a nice touch as well. I'll be coming back for sandwiches here!
Be the first to ReplyI haven't tried the original sandwiches from Florence, but
I haven't tried the original sandwiches from Florence, but I thought that the sandwich was good, but nothing mind blowing. I got the L'inferno and the portion size was big, but the sandwich itself was just decent. The grilled vegetables felt a little slimy, and the bread felt cold and chewy. I felt like overall, you can find better sandwiches in NYC for that price point. Part of me wants to try a different sandwich from the place since I had heard such good things about the original sandwiches, but not sure if I will find myself going back anytime too soon.

The ingredients in the paninis were very high quality and the crunchiness from the bread made a very good panini. However the paninis were very expensive.

I studied abroad in Florence as an undergrad, so when I heard there was an All' Antico Vinaio in NYC, I HAD to go, for old time's sake!It was just as I remembered- with amazing focaccia and a lovely artichoke cream, spicy eggplant, schiacciata, and pecorino cream, it was packed with immense flavor and just wonderful!I will say that it is quite pricey - almost $20 for the sandwich but the portions are quite generous and one sandwich can definitely be split by two people!

Amazing sandwiches! Many of my Italian friends recommended All'Antico when I was in Florence, but the line was so long so I didn't get to try it. I was so happy when I found out they were going to open a location in NYC. I was debating between the Favolosa and Inferno, but I decided to go with the Inferno. It was great. The bread was Chef Kiss! Highly recommend!

Good food for the price! Wish there was a place where you could eat. There's nowhere to really go in the immediate area to eat, especially when it's cold out, and one really should be eating it right away, before the bread gets soggy.

Good enough? Finally made it out to the west side to try this place. ย Got L'inferno. ย It's huge. ย They're generous enough with the meat. ย But as a sandwich it fails like other oversized and overstuffed creations. ย The fillings squish around so bites are uneven. ย The meat is basically unseasoned so it's all rather mild. ย Yet somehow the quality of the ingredients make me think I'll find something else on the menu. ย I'll be back for another shot at that porchetta and probably the roast beef.

Hands down the best sandwich I've ever had in this city and is well worth the price. Let's be honest, all the famous deli sandwiches are on the pricier side anyway. The focaccia bread is soft and fresh and the toppings are so flavourful. I tried both the Schiacciata Del Boss and the Schiacciata di Manolo. You can really taste the truffle in the sandwiches and ย the cold cuts were top notch! Well worth the money.

Could have been way better if they would not overdue to give so much as the sandwiches look like a sloppy joe from Philadelphia. truly. truck driver food quality. not even close to the Florentine spot. $17 focaccia a disgrace.
Be the first to ReplyI just had a doctors appointment in the area and am always
I just had a doctors appointment in the area and am always on the look out for new sandwich places, especially in neighborhoods that aren't my own. There are a few options around, but this one looked new and impressive, claiming to have the "best" sandwiches in Italy. Anything claiming to be the best in NYC I regard with an appropriate amount of skepticism, but I was willing to give it a shot. This place is small/cozy, with only enough barstool seating for maybe 6 people max. There is a QR code you can scan which details what is on the sandwiches. I asked the employees what they recommended, which is how I ended up with La Schiacciata di Manolo. Side note -- the employees were SUPER friendly and cute also, hi helloooo. But I digress. I got my sandwich (and a Diet Coke) to go, total cost about $17. When I got home and took a bite of this baby... holy friggin cow, absolutely delicious. The bread is crunchy/crusty on the outside, but not overly like in the rubs the roof of your mouth raw sorta way, and inside has that perfect chew... it just tastes like butter. That actually could have been the whole sandwich just tasting like general decadence. The cheese and meat were bright and fresh, didn't taste like there were preservatives or weird marinades, just good clean ingredients. And that truffle cream, daaaannggg. The portion is also large; I ate half and felt reasonably full. I honestly cannot wait to go back (hi boys) and try the other sandwiches!

I hate truffles and I found the bread to be hard and unappetizing. Also there is a lot of meat and pork. Not the sandwich place for me.
