Allora Fifth Ave New York Reviews from The Last Year
Food is great! Nice environment! Fully recommend! Will
Food is great! Nice environment! Fully recommend! Will introduce to all my friends! And will go there this Wednesday too. Love it.
First of all I ordered the cacao de Pepe and my first order
First of all I ordered the cacao de Pepe and my first order came out cold with noodles slightly over cooked. I asked to get my plate warmed and they returned with a new plate that was warm however the noodles were very tough and even worse than the first order. Would highly recommend going somewhere else. Not worth the money
Understaffed, overrated
Very bland place. Slow service. Understaffed restaurant. Not good value for money either. The main dishes were nice but the amuse bouche was inedible. All in all, a disappointing experience

Tens, tens, tens across the board! Well, since this is Yelp and five stars is the highest rating, change that to fives across the board. I had actually wanted to go to another Italian place nearby and couldn't get a reservation and with a 4.4 rating on Yelp, this looked like a good substitute. I'm happy to say I'm glad I didn't go to the other place because Allora is outstanding. From the second we walked in (to the hotel lobby because we didn't see the outside door to the restaurant) the service was exceptional. We were made to feel so welcome and we were treated like valued guests by everyone. The pace of the service was great and allowed us time to chat and catch up as I was having dinner with cousins from Pittsburgh and we hadn't seen each other in a year. The guy who led the service team for our table went over all the wonderful sounding specials and then took our drink orders. My barrel aged old fashioned was so good I had two! My husband and I started with a Caesar salad- with anchovies- that was prepared tableside and it was absolute bliss. He had the branzino for his main course, which was also prepared tableside. He said it was outstanding. I had something called dentice Mediterranean. According to the menu it's a filet of red snapper with shrimp, scallions, parsley, cherry tomatoes and white wine lemon sauce. All I know is that it was absolutely terrific and I would order it again in a heartbeat. My cousins had pastas which they both adored. For dessert, three of us had the amazing chocolate mousse and one of us had the creme brulee. Suffice it to say, there wasn't a scrap of anything left. I honestly can't recall the last time I had such an exceptional dining experience. The team working there is perfection. I can't say enough good things about Allora. Food, service, atmosphere....it has it all. 100% recommend.
Allora is amazing, service was outstanding! We ordered
Allora is amazing, service was outstanding! We ordered Chicken dishes, mashed potatoes, and asparagus, all was outstanding. Finished off dinner with ricotta cheesecake which was so delicious! Definitely will visit this restaurant again. The ambiance was so relaxing, they play Italian music. Waiters were attentive to our needs, very friendly.
Needed a great option before a show at MSG.
This place was such a class act. The food was great. The ambiance was lovely. The service was exceptional. I wrote a note indicating some special needs required (one guest with hearing problems, another with vision problems) and they did every single thing possible to accommodate us in a less noisy and well lit area. We were lucky that they weren't super crowded yet (5:30 reservation) and so they were able to give us attention and made the night most pleasant and comfortable, it was really special. We ate and loved the Caesar salad, special salad with burrata and avocado and pistachio dust, veal parm, chicken scarpariello, and pesto gnocchi. All delish, and ranked in that order, favorite first. The espresso martini was to die for. Yum. Thanks to Dmitri and to the lovely hostess who made the night so perfect. Can't wait to return and highly recommend! Cheers!
Excellent service.
The staff was super helpful and friendly. I had a delicious mushroom risotto, and my daughter had the gnocchi pesto, which we thought was a bit basil-heavy, but otherwise good. Excellent desserts. The red velvet cake was amazing.

We had a private section just for our group, with four servers just buzzing around us. They were insanely attentive. The moment we put down our forks, they were there with new plates and cutlery - it felt like VIP treatment! The food was next level. We had the filet mignon that was so tender, lamb chops and the the branzino. Not only did everything taste amazing, but it all looked so good too. They really know how to present a dish. They suggested some wine pairings, and each one was spot-on, making the meal even more enjoyable.Honestly, it was an amazing night. Everything from the ambiance, the service, to the food was just spot on. Highly recommend! Ps. Their lamb chops were prepared table-side which was awesome.
Italian cuisine as it should be
Somewhat upper-class version of an Italian restaurant. No pizzas, but different types of pasta, and various "secondi" such as veal, fish, chicken and steaks, each with an Italian touch. The restaurant is located on 5th avenue and is located in the Méridien hotel. The tables are nicely cared for, with linen. For lunch we had 2 pastas (the seafood is highly recommended!) and 1 meat and 1 fish dish, with 1 glass of wine and only water (bottle, no tap). The bill including tax and tips (20%) was $237, which is reasonable for this class of restaurant, especially if located near 5th av. 200 m. from the Empire State Building. The food was excellent, the service was ordinary and our waiter showed little interest.
This is a restaurant within a hotel.
It serves authentic and delicious Italian food. The bar is tiny and packed usually but they will serve dinner. The bartender is great, makes great drinks and is a good conversationalist. When I stay near here, I will always stop in for a drink or a meal.
Came here for a large party of 20+ people.
It felt like it was a private party because it was empty on a Saturday afternoon. The service was not as good as I thought it would be being that there were multiple servers and were practically the only ones there. I arrived at 12:45pm for the 1pm reservation and all but 2 of the other guests were already there. The waiters were waiting until the 2 other guests came to do anything. I asked to start us off with water and bread for the table. Everyone was pretty hungry but they went around and gave one piece of bread to each person. After everyone asking for more bread they finally agreed to putting plates of bread along the table. I'm not sure if the waiters were new or spoke English. I picked up the pitcher of water myself to refill our glasses. There were 5 kids and the 3 year old got his meal last. I enjoyed my salmon but my tricolore as well as everyone else's did not have walnuts despite the menu saying it came with walnuts. The people who ordered the chicken Marsala were very upset on how overcooked it was. It was very tough for them to cut it. My mom asked if it came with steamed vegetables and the waiter said no. I pointed out that the menu stated it would be accompanied with steamed vegetables in which the waiter responded he'd check then came out with broccoli that was partly cooked. Overall it seemed very disorganized. We ordered from the prefixe menu which we had the option to pick an appetizer, entree and dessert. But for dessert everyone received a piece of cheesecake. We were really confused when the cheesecake came out and when we asked about the other dessert one of the waiters said we were wrong and everyone gets cheesecake. When speaking to another employee he asked which dessert I wanted then he brought out the chocolate cake I asked for and tiramisu someone else ordered in the beginning when they took orders. My cousin, who organized it said there were children and wanted a kids menu for them and that was agreed upon however when she received the bill the children were charged for full adult meals (they ordered butter pasta, spaghetti and meatballs, etc). I know that having large parties can be difficult but the restaurant really struggled with our group. We thought it was going to go smoother being that they have prefixe menus and assumed they were used to having large parties but that was not the case for us.
Best Restaurant Experience in a Long Time
Could not have asked for a better experience or food. People running this restaurant know food and how to treat customers. A great place to eat and enjoy friends and family
Fun experience and engaging staff but a little
Fun experience and engaging staff but a little disappointing. I want to start by saying that the staff was super flexible and was able to accommodate our group of 12 when we realized we made a reservation at the wrong Allora. They were also great with considering allergies and dietary restrictions for our group. The staff was also very interactive and making jokes with our table. However, some may find this fun, but I felt it was making me a little uncomfortable especially since this was a work dinner and they were making a lot of awkward jokes which I didn't love. The food was not terrible but not out of this world considering the price point. We started with appetizers which came on personalized plates. The appetizers were not very shellfish allergy friendly so warning there (I only was able to enjoy the burrata and tomato). The pesto gnocchi pasta was great but didn't feel like the flavors were phenomenal (the roasted pine nuts were a great touch though). The chocolate soufflé was delicious and they even had gluten free options.

We had an amazing experience! Ben, our server, was exceptional and made our meal even more enjoyable. The service was top-notch and the food was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. Wah waah.
Excellent Italian restaurant in the Big Apple
Excellent Italian restaurant on Fifth Avenue. Very attentive staff. Delicious pastas and unmissable desserts. We will return to this place.
The food and service is second to none.
Anytime I am in New York this is a mandatory requirement for treating myself! The Branzino and Broccoli along with house made Chips are super delicious. Amazing service from the moment I arrived to the time of my departure.
I recommend it
This is a wonderful place to enjoy a delicious and satisfying snack. The service is exceptional, with polite and friendly waitstaff. I highly recommend this establishment and give it a 5-star rating!
Excellent Service For A Tired Group
We made a last-minute reservation after finishing our Empire State Building tour. Our kids were gassed, adults were cold, and we were not dressed for a nice dinner. The maitre d’ Elio met us at the front and tossed a few jokes towards the kids, putting our edgy group at ease. Next came a couple of Shirley Temples followed by zucchini chips and a salami/cheese plate on the house. Having already performed a minor miracle, the staff followed it up by making some excellent wine and food recommendations. The entire staff was in on the act.
I will be your ‘regular customer
Best breakfast spot Friendly and welcoming waiter was a plus as well as you have your delicious breakfast with a view We highly reccommend this

Ask a Question |
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue? |
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
