Creative and unassuming
Dined with business associates and had the chef's tasting menu. Every dish was extremely well prepared and creative. Excellent presentation and service. The atmosphere is relaxed so you can enjoy your company and be inspired by the food. The tasting menu was outstanding value.

Yes 3 stars. Had the Chefs tasting menu. The food was amazing but their 3 item that took off stars. #1 - We felt rushed thru the beginning of the menu. Eating one with another brought out and set on the table for us. #2 - On our menu was a dish with Oishii shrimp in which the shrimp was clearly undercooked (lighting was dim so had already eaten a piece before realizing). Pointed it out to our server (Michael) who took it back to the kitchen. Came back to tell us that Oishii shrimp is Japanese shrimp and that the he was told by the chef it should only be cooked for 15 seconds. (A). Oishii shirmp shrimp is not necessarily “Japanese” shrimp. Only the word “Oishii” is. Oishii shrimp is farm raised, sustainable shrimp. (B) Cooking shrimp for 15 seconds is never acceptable even in Japan. (C) If it, as the chef stated, cooked perfectly why didn’t the server bring our food back. Just because you put a disclaimer on the menu does not mean you should undercook the food (as I sit in my bathroom at 430am writing this). #3 - The final dish of Washugyu Hanger Streak was a total disappointment given how amazing most of the food was. Very bland. On the PLUS side - Our server was attentive, made great wine recommendations, and kept the place moving since it seemed like he was the only “waiter” on the floor. I wont personally be returning to Edo Tapas (Anima yes) but thats just me.

Dinner last evening was excellent. We did the chef's tasting menu. Every course was unique, each with it's own flavor and exquisitely prepared. Service was great. Over the years, we have had many wonderful meals at all types of restaurants. This has to rank in the top 5. Highly recommend!

Inspired by Catalonian traditions, Chef Oscar Amador Edo’s upbringing in Barcelona gifting him with a respect for diverse Ingredients and an ability to craft poignant bites that highlight rather than hide them, it was as a party of eight that guests were accommodated near the back, GM Roberto Liendo charged with creating a Menu Degustacion including both regularly offered items and nightly inspirations. An acronym for “Extra Day Off,” though EDO itself is open from 5pm until 9pm daily, it was with most of the Restaurant’s other 32 seats full by 6:00 on Monday that things were underway quickly with others enjoying Wine alongside vibrant Gazpacho as well as Oysters in assertive Ponzu. Seafood-centric early, Kaluga Caviar Eggs and Baby Scallops with curls of Butter equally indulgent, Hamachi next found itself as Tartare served in crystal before a treasure chest offering Wagyu Tarts kissed by Mint. Using housemade Catalan Olive Oil Bread next for two types of Pintxos, the better between imported Ibérico and Boquerones a toss-up, Bluefin Tuna Tartare topped with Caviar was indeed special prior to off-menu “Tarte Flambee” marrying Ham and Onions to Manchego Cheese with Jalapeño Oil. Weaving traditional to modern in a manner not dissimilar from Jose Andres or even the Adria brothers, grilled Artichokes with shaved Duck Liver and stuffed Squid with Lovage Pesto each making the most of seasonal produce, Octopus arrived charred atop creamy Potatoes while Langoustines shined with little more than a hint of Salt from the Bowfin Roe. Scallops once more with U10s from Hokkaido amidst Romanesco and Truffle-Coconut Beurre Blanc, a whole greater than the sum of its parts, Ricotta Ravioli is as comforting as it is luxurious while Lamb picks up a ton of flavor from its Coffee Rub and accompanying Saffron-Aji Amarillo Yogurt.
Be the first to ReplyAll-time amazing meal at unmissable Spanish gem
Simply put, one of the top 5 meals I’ve ever had at a restaurant. It’s a spot off the beaten path of the strip, but worth the 5-10 minute drive through Chinatown to get to. A small, intimate atmosphere decorated in dark and warm colors, light music and moderately upscale fixtures. I went in early on a Friday night, around 5:15 p.m., with a reservation and it wasn’t hard getting in, but was filled up by the time I finished. The food can only be described as exquisite. It’s Spanish tapas style and I was alone and got four dishes (including a dessert). They offer a massive but fairly priced tasting menu but I went a la carte - and please note, I did not try any of the wine or other alcoholic offerings but people at the table next to me were raving about the sangria. I started off with the pan con tomate, which consisted of warmly toasted Catalan Olive Oil Bread, fresh tomato, and olive oil. I’m not much of a raw tomato fan but the balance of the dish made it incredibly delicious even for the non-tomato lover. Next I had what I can only describe as a top 5 dish I’ve ever had - the braves potatoes. Expertly described by my server, these crunchy delights consist of nearly a dozen layers of incredibly thinly sliced potatoes, stuck together, baked and then friend into sticks around 7” in length. The serving comes with four sticks and comes with a Brava sauce that steals the show and should be bottled and sold. Every bite was crispy on the outside and just the right about of softness inside, with a perfect amount of salt to not overwhelm the pallet. Simply perfect. For a main course I went with the plume Iberia. This dish is based with tender sliced pieces of choice pork, then littered with more braves potatoes, garlic chips and Campari tomato confit. The dish looked and tasted like a 9.5, but the smells coming off of it were a 10. A good sized portion as well. I finished this epic meal off with a dessert of chocolate cremoso - basically a chocolate ganache sprinkled with sea salt, dried with olive oil and served with some crostinis to spread on like butter on bread. It was small but rich and tasty. Overall, I can’t say enough good things. The service was impeccable - there were no less than three servers/chefs/owners who came to the table at one point or another to check on me and each of the dishes was comprehensively described by the server when delivered to the table. The price of the meal with tax and tip was around $100 - as stated before I did not have any alcohol but I also got four filling dishes. There may be bigger and more famous Spanish restaurants in Las Vegas, but I guarantee you, none can top Edo Gastro Tapas and Wine. I already can’t wait to try it again on my next visit to Sin City. 5/5.
Be the first to ReplyThe Best Tapas Anywhere—-including Spain
Airchef and I were surprised when invited to this spot by a local Vegas friend. It is very unassuming and hidden in a strip mall. Once through the doors, you are wafted with the aromas of Catalonia…almost as if stepping into the doors of Lasarte in Barcelona. Our friend had arrange a chef’s tasting menu of extraordinary tapas…each dish as exceptional as the next from a frothy quail egg topped with caviar, to a melt-in-your-mouth Washugyu hanger steak finale. Airchef’s favorite was the granita, a dessert of finely shaved strawberry ice accompanied by a cloud of popcorn-flavored mousse. For me it was the lovely enchilada of blue crab and sofrito topped with just the perfect amount of heat from some jalapeño slivers. From the greeting to the wine service through all the courses, the friendliness and the professionalism of the servers took our dining to the next level. I truly felt as if I had been magically transported to Spain. Skip Nobu, Robuchon, and Puck and head for South Jones Blvd where Chef Edo has truly created a gem in Las Vegas.

Edo is for serious foodies. We had the tasting menu and several items where the best example of the item I had ever had and in most cases there take on it amazed us away. Our server did a fantastic job and explained how we should eat each item. Some of the tastes just blew us away.

This restaurant is close Chinatown. It was a last-minute selection and WOW the food was amazing. The entrance is simple and easy to miss. It's located in a strip mall. The cozy interior decor has a very Spanish favor which compliments the menu. Michael was our server. He knew the menu front and back. He added some very strong and accurate suggestions. Thank you, Michael. The food was cooked to perfection. I had the octopus and shared several items with my S/O. All were tasty.

We had ten people, had to call for reservations (not Open Table). Owner was very accommodating as we celebrated our 25th anniversary. Table was ready at the Right time, no waiting. Delicious chefs menu! Started a bit small and quick but the pace settled nicely. Wonderful variety, plenty of food, everyone left full. Great drinks, full selection from a small bar cart. Great service from the manager to the servers - very friendly and willing to explain each course. Will return!

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local friend. While our house is literally 2 miles away, we had no idea about this restaurant (or actually the mini district of restaurants at the same location - probably a dozen of them - we will sure try some of the others, too). We tried to make a reservation through OpenTable a number of times, but they never had anything on the weekend days we could go, for couple of weeks into the future, so we gave up for a while. I tried again, for a special date - my wife and I celebrate anniversaries of our fist date each year, at a special place. So I booked a date night last night (10/1/2022) in advance, this time successfully. The experience was absolutely phenomenal. As it turns out, my wife is not exactly into tapas, especially cold ones + she has allergy to caviar (which I forgot), so some of the dishes she did not enjoy - but I most certainly did - this is the best cuisine I can ask for - tiny dishes/tapas, many of them :) I did study in Andalúzia (in Granada), so I was very much into the tapas culture and gaspacho soup. The offerings had a number of unique, interesting creations, and we also had a nice bottle of sparkling wine (cuvee), along with amazing service. It is a small restaurant, with cozy, intimate atmosphere, including art, which all clicks together with the friendly service and attention to detail. While my rating is a resounding 5 stars without any doubt, I just wanted to point out a couple of minor glitches or areas that could be improved, only to help toward perfection - but even if not addressing these, I'd surely be back often. 1. Parking. We had an 8 PM reservation on a Saturday, probably the busiest time possible, and as I mentioned there are several other restaurants in the same area, for a rather limited parking. I am not sure if valet parking is even feasible for a relatively small restaurant like EDO Gastro, but perhaps teaming up with other neighboring restaurants they could make it happen. Another idea is to alert guests by email or at the time of reservation that parking is choppy around peak times and consider ride share (we could have easily done that). We ended up going around in circles over and over around the lot, along with many other cars trying to find a car getting out - and when someone did in fact was pulling out, usually 2-3 cars clashed to grab the spot. We ended up parking in the strip mall right next to it, with a reasonably short walk, which was not a big deal. Next time we will use ride share. 2. The wait time between dishes was variable. At times, there was considerable amount of time passing between serving of tapas. Perhaps a chess timer to give the restaurant service team an idea, reset each time between deliveries, could help them to get an idea how they are doing. 3. I noticed that the amount of information about these unique dishes was variable. Different tapas were delivered by different people. Some were engaging, knowledgeable, informative, while others were perhaps less extroverted. This could be just due to some of the dishes/tapas having more to talk about than others, but we personally would prefer to err on the side of giving us more information than less. (Having said that, every member of the service personnel acted highly professionally, with a very kind, friendly demeanor throughout.) As I mentioned my wife (which I did not necessarily realize myself before this experience) dislikes cold tapas - and we could have made different choices - for example ordering a la carte from the menu, as opposed to going with the prix-fix option. Considering how unique the tapas each are and how they may be completely unfamiliar to the inexperienced tapas enthusiast, it would be perhaps worth considering detailed photo descriptions - either printed or available through at the online menu. In summary, we had a great night - truly unique restaurant, excellent food, impeccable service.

We were recommended to this restaurant by the hotel concierge and it turns out to be our best meal in Vegas during our 5 days' stay in Vegas in late July. After the meal, I checked reviews of this restaurant from Trip Adviser, all I can say is they were all so true! Go there to try if you have time, you won't regret it!

Don't let the location scare you off. This is a wonderful place to eat. It's in a strip mall and the signage is plain but inside, you are greeted by smiling folks that want to make sure your meal is memorable. Because the small plates are small portions (duh!) you can try many items and not get filled up. Everything we ate was a delight. A nice blend of different layers of flavors and textures. The baby scallops came in scallop shells. They had a wonderful, salty, savory liquid which elevated the natural flavor of the scallops. Do try the Bravas Potatoes, which are thinly sliced potatoes, layered with olive oil and baked under a weighted plate. They cut the dish into long square tubes and deep fry them for a bit of crispness - heaven. Tempura Squash Blossoms were a rare treat as squash blossoms are very seasonal. The filling was to die for. The best dish was something called Txangurro, which is served is a large wine glass looking thing. It contains a pureed potato mixture, sherry and a blue crab sofrito. The mixture of those 3 things was unbelievable. Even though you may not think you have room for dessert, do it anyway, mostly because you know it's going to be special. We did the Chocolate Tart. No need to detail its ingredients. Suffice it to say it was a wonderful end to a wonderful meal. The staff at EDO are wonderfully attentive but not "in your face". They are clearly wanting you to have a fine meal and they attend to the small details to make sure that happens. They have a wonderful restaurant and seem anxious to share it with everyone. I'm stingy with my 5-star ratings so don't let the "only" 4-stars mislead you. EDO serves some of the very best food anywhere and the small surroundings are intimate but not very upscale. With a little more atmosphere, I would give it 5 stars. I gave the place 5 stars each for food, service and value because it's that good. But TripAdvisor doesn't provide individual ratings for other aspects of the restaurant and thus my reason for an overall rating of 4. Still, I want to be clear. If I return to Vegas, I will absolutely visit this place again. No question. I think anyone would have a wonderful experience here.

Hidden gem in the big horizon of the restoration of Las Vegas. The crew really make you feel like to be in a family. Have the chance to dine many times and the menu change with the specials very often. The wine list is excellent considering the dimension of the restaurant. Many hidden gems inside. Strongly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyThank you for the vegan menu options!
There were five of us - two vegan, one vegetarian, and two who eat a standard American diet - in our party and everyone agreed to give the plant-based option of the tasting menu a try. There were zero complaints with nothing but compliments around the table. The courses came out at a fairly rapid pace which was fine with me, but one member of our party desired a bit of a break between courses which the waitstaff and back of house were quick to respond to by slowing down the prep and delivery. Everything was amazing and I recommend highly!

Such a wonderful dinner experinece!! We did the tasting menu and it was amazing. The service is impeccable as well. We loved all the dishes, but in particular the cavier and the short ribs at the end. Oh and the dessert was amazing as well! Definitely worth a trip off the strip!

When we pulled up to the strip mall I thought we were at the wrong place. Inside, the mural was stunning. The food choices were unique and delicious. Five of us tried 12 different items, loved each one and left full. Make reservations.

We had the 9 course tasting menu. Upgraded 1 item to the risotto for $10 additional per person. All the dishes were very good except the risotto that was overly salty. So 4.5* Very good service.

Be the first to ReplyLas Vegas most exciting place to eat!
FIVE STARS: In a city where dining “critic” or “expert” gets liberally applied to folks who’ve never eaten in a Michelin 3* Restaurant or traveled overseas it is hard to take any claim of “best” serious. Every steakhouse has an “amazing” tartare. Every off-strip spot opened by a former strip Chef is “incredible.” Fact of the matter is that not one of them has the skill, daringness or unintentional excellence of EDO. This isn’t food for the #gram. It is not a redundant Caviar cart or GM willing to monkey dance for influencers. The bathroom is *awful* for selfies. This is just pure, heartfelt cuisine from a Chef who understands flavor. It is Las Vegas most exciting restaurant every day and probably the best most nights of the week for anyone who truly values great Food.

Another fantastic dinner at EDO. By far my favorite play to eat out in Las Vegas. The food is unlike anything you’ll get in the strip.
