Antiquity Restaurant Albuquerque Reviews from The Last Year
I came into town on business and heard great things about
I came into town on business and heard great things about this restaurant so I decided to bring my colleague and business partner here for a business dinner. The restaurant's website stated all seating was by reservation and wanted patrons to call for reservations. The phone was appeared to be off of the hook as it busy and never ranged. Since it was a rainy Thursday evening, we decided to stop in and see if we could be accommodated. The host had his back turned to the front door. I asked if we have a table for three. He looked me up and down and said in a very abrasive tone, "In 15-30 minutes!" I replied okay. I wanted to explain that I tried calling to alert him that their phone maybe off the hook because it ranged busy. He cut me off and yelled 15-30 minutes and proceeded to turn his back on me. I was not only embarrassed for him but also myself and my colleagues. We immediately left as I am not in the business of supporting a business that is rude. I will spend my money elsewhere.
Antiquity Albuquerque
GOOD LUCK WITH THIS! We are in town only for the day - wanted reservations but they only open at 5 and have no other means to reserve except call. All other restaurants were filling up so couldn't chance waiting. If you've got the time probably fine, .... But seriously, this is the 21 century - update your systems 🙄
I heard from multiple sources that Antiquity Restaurant is
I heard from multiple sources that Antiquity Restaurant is unquestionabley on the short list of candidates for best restaurant in Albuquerque. Armed with these trusted recommendations, I made a dinner reservation a month in advance, and then we dined here. Antiquity did NOT disappoint! Located in the touristy portion of Old Town, when we arrived and saw the exterior for the 1st time I didn't have high hopes for the interior, but it turned out to be all good; the inside is dark, cozy, and almost dripping with Old World charm. We were seated at a small, semi-private wooden booth, and we could smell and hear them cooking steaks on the charcoal grill inside their brick and stone oven; you can actually see the oven when you walk in the door. We started off with a soup, made with chicken, cream, and green chilis; it was delicious, and the salad they served with it was even better :-) We both ordered ribeye steaks as our entree. The steaks were perfectly seasoned, wonderfully marbled, and beautifully presented, with fresh vegetables and broccoli and cheddar mashed potatoes. Service was informative, attentive, and friendly - the owner even stopped by toward the end of the meal to make sure we were receiving good care (a very nice touch!). All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant, and look forward to returning!
A perfect dinner
From the warm and accommodating welcome at the door, to the perfect service, to the wonderful cuisine, I had a wonderful dinner, will return whenever I am back in Albuquerque, and will recommend this place to anyone who is interested. Thank you, Antiquity Restaurant!
We had dinner here our first night in Albuquerque.
The building and its history are worth a visit on their own. Service was wonderful, and the food did not disappoint. I loved that our table felt very private. We started with an oyster dish and salads. I had the spiced shrimp, and he had lobster. We had the dessert trio, which was perfectly sized. Everything was delicious!!
Great for dinner and a bit of history

A must eat at restaurant.
We did not have a reservation for this restaurant, However, the owner managed to find us a table albeit with a one hour forty-five window to finish our meal, yes it was packed. Make a reservation. to be sure you do not miss a great restaurant. They have as a starter a special salad which is divine, the Lamb Chops are outstanding.
Fantastic.
Service was great, almost a little much, but generally good. . Reservations were a little tough to get but I can see why. Best steak I had in Albuquerque
We were able to get a table here for our anniversary.
The parking is ample and paid at a lot that is a very short across the street and half way down the block. This is old town Albuquerque so the buildings are charming examples of original architecture. We arrived a little early and waited in a comfortable waiting area just inside the front door. Our table was ready right on time. I'm in a power chair and am happy to report handicap parking at the paid lot and I was able to easily navigate rite up to the table without incident. The staff were professional and attentive. The fine dining atmosphere matches their demeanor and excellent service. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and beverage choices. The wine list is vast and full of all stars and old favorites. The food and service from the kitchen was impeccable. At the waiters behest I ordered the lamb and was not disappointed in any way. The lamb was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Sarah's salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The proteins are roasted over a wood fired hearth/grill just behind the front entry counter. The dishes are pricey but are so because you are getting the very best ingredients prepared in ways that'll blow your mind. The lamb chops were tender and perfectly crispy at the same time. They were served on a bed of the best risotto ever. The three cheese crepe with flambéed cherries on top was transcendent. The salads that the waiter recommended had sliced fruit and baked Brie cheese with a dressing that tied it all together beautifully. If it seems like I'm gushing the reason is clear. This place is an awesome place to enjoy a special meal. Cheers
There was a time when I had a thesarus in my home library.
I wish I had it handy today, so that I could add words of accolade for this fine establishment. First time visit for me; was invited to a birthday dinner gathering. This is higher end dining in Albuquerque. From the street, looks understated, but once inside, a quiet elegance. Fantastic staff, very accomodating and friendly, and service through the meal and desert was a wonderful "invisible but you know they are there" approach. We were a party of six, I had a rib eye that was sumptuous and perfectly cooked. I learned about a dish that a king preferred, Henry the IV; artichoke on a steak. Lamb chops looked perfect. Another big plus: the tables are partitioned so that you have a sense of quiet privacy. And the prices? Very reasonable, in fact considering the quality of the food I would say prices are low. No doubt this is one of ABQ's top ten restaurants.
I walk in for a party of one.
No greeting so I walk up to the host. He says I don't have it right now. And I said all night and he said I don't have it. I honestly feel like for 1 person and when they close at 10 to refuse service was purely racial. It's 7:44pm. As a black woman it's disheartening to be refused service. He could have gave me a time frame but to just shut me down is as if he were saying. You are not welcomed. He was friendly to the white people but since I'm not white I guess I don't get the same treatment. all I wanted was a good meal, but oh well.
Excellent. Accommodating. Take Pride
In town for one night. Worked us in last minute. Two hour wait, late, but was grateful. Worth every minute. Everything exquisite. Treated us like royalty. Owner came around. Don't get on a high horse. They do all they can do to accommodate. Best Restaurant in Old Town. Make RESERVATIONS!
Had dinner specials.
Beef short ribs were top and really amazing; well marinated, lean. Crab cakes were great quality. Fish barramundi was tasty however not worth $50. Sides of Risotto and vegetables (asparagus and carrots) were too oily and buttery that they were not enjoyable. You can even see from the pic how "shiny" everything was and not surprising that we all had diarrhea all morning next day. Service is very good though the host could be more welcoming and hospitable (for a supposedly fancy restaurant).
The food is amazing, the wait staff have the perfect
The food is amazing, the wait staff have the perfect balance of being helpful without being intrusive, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy.
You can't even make a reservation for this place.
I don't know how many days I called trying to get through. Tonight I called 60 times and the phone was always busy. When I did get through the person I spoke said they don't have enough people to answer the phone and run a restaurant at the same time. How rude was that!!! I also tried previous days and no one answers their phones. They seriously need to have more than one phone line. Horrible!!! Don't they believe in call waiting???
Ridicuous
This place is ridiculous ! They refuse to answer the phone and the gentleman (I use the term loosely) at the is so rude and grouchy he destroys any chance of a fun experiance ! DON'T BOTHER !!!
Enchanting Dining Experience!
Antiquity came up in all my search results including my accomodation as one of the top restaurants to dine; naturally we had to visit for our first dinner date during our visit. We admired the rustic look and feel of the interior with its dim lighting for ambiance! Reservation is strongly recommended assuming due to limited seating and yours meals are prepared to order while you dine. Our waiter was pleasant and treated us with exceptional service the entire time. Highly recommend for cozy and enjoyable meal in a quiet environment so you may engage in light banter while dining. Suggestion to try: - We had the stuffed mushrooms that wet cooked to perfection. - The pumpkin cheesecake may have been specially for Thanksgiving but it was decadent. Note: Their menu offers an extended wine offerings but no spirits due to limited space for a bar.
Just f’ing good food
Albuquerque locals. Been her a dozen times. Always s favorite. It has always been a go-to of ours for a romantic night out. Perfectly cooked steaks. Fresh produce .If you call early can get the oysters or appetizer you want reserved. The manager is very helpful. I wonder about the one star reviews . It has always been an excellent restaurant with excellent service. Is it Michelin 3 star ? No but it also isn’t a $1500 dinner. One reviewers comment about dennys is just absurd. He should dine at Taco Bell and keep his it hers opinion to themselves. I get that a cancelled night can be frustrating but if the or manager is sick it’s hard to serve food. Get over yourself. It’s post Covid. Hard to find good help. Bottom line is that in highly recommend this spot for dining and continue to patronize this establishment.
Tremendous
Came with my wife to Albuquerque and was lucky enough to get a seat on a Friday evening at this amazing establishment. The staff is very friendly and respectful to everyone. With the food it was quite a triumph. We started with the Escargot, and while I dislike mushrooms, and was iffy on if I’d like snails this dish blew my expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed the tenderness of the dish and the freshness. The cream of tomato soup was excellent which I had with my entree as did my wife. It was truly unlike any tomato soup I’d had, peppery, nutty but also very delicate. Lastly, the main courses. We both ordered specials for the night: the veal and the rack of lamb. Simply tremendous. I’ve never had lamb that was as tender, and not gamey as this dish. Tried my wife’s lamb exceptionally good. I can’t rave about this place enough. It’s my first review of anything but they deserve the praise and I can’t wait to visit again one day.
Only One Meal Out? Eat Here
I have to say this is one of the best meals I have had the pleasure to enjoy in a very long time. I ordered the Scallops Jalapeno. I don't think words could do this dish justice. You could tell they were as fresh as possible and were cooked to perfection. I also enjoyed the soup of the day. And to top off this meal I had the Polyczenta for dessert. If you only go our for one meal make this your destination. I wish I didn't live in the Philadelphia area, otherwise I would eat here on a regular basis. Just a suggestion, make a reservation. And one more thing, the ambience is perfect.
