Dang good!!
Dang I can't believe a restaurant that is this good is actually walking distance from my house which is a good thing because I need to walk after I eat here! The food is so good that you will have a hard time stopping yourself from cleaning your plate! Last time I was here I had the Autumn Omelet and I know you must be thinking "omelet? what's so special about an omelet?" but i am not exaggerating when I say it was without a doubt the best omelet I have ever had and it only got better when I ordered a side order of their bacon gravy because come on people how can you go to Bacon and Butter and not get their bacon gravy!!! You will wait to eat here, there is always a line, so prepare yourself but come hungry and be prepared to be woo'd by how good everything single thing you taste! Enjoy!

We started our visit by receiving a very unfriendly scolding by the hostess about not following directions. Not being familiar with this place, we made the terrible error of walking in directly. No one was waiting in line and multiple open tables. Not real hospitable way to be greeted. I ordered the bacon biscuit egg and gravy dish. The components of this meal were all fine, but the presentation was just bizarre. A soup bowl level of gravy had a biscuit, bacon and egg submerged in the gravy. Perhaps this is the way a dish like this is served in N Cal, but it was off putting. Gravy soup. Companions omelet was standard issue and fine. Her fried potatoes had no seasoning at all which is odd for breakfast taters. Cinnamon roll had odd โfriedโ texture to it. Not great. Waitress was very friendly and the restaurant itself has a very cool vibe. Clearly many people love this place as when we left there was a large outdoor line properly obeying the rules! Maybe we just visited on a bad day but I would not return here if I am ever in Sacramento again.

The wait time was 1 hour and 30 minutes . The host told us the bar was not available, but the bar was empty. The hos let other people to sit at the bar 10 minutes after we had arrived. We ask to sit inside because it was lots of flies and 85 degrees outside. Host told us that we would have to wait another hour if we wanted to sit inside. We decided to still order and set outside in the heat and witness a few people who were not on the waitlist get a table inside Once the food came, the food looked like it had been sitting out for a while and didn't taste that good. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The host was not professional and very mean, however the waiter was nice. The host was short with other guest and did not appear to like her job. Before making this review, I asked a few friends about how they felt about Bacon and Butter, they said they would not be returning to this restaurant because they had similar experience as mine.
Be the first to ReplyHidden Fees
I only looked at the menu. In the fine print, it said that they added a 5% fee to cover the increasing cost of having a business in California. So, instead of honestly raising the prices by 5% per item, they charge an additional 5% that you may or may not notice. I won't be going.

Delicious Breakfast Location! Ample parking, but then again we arrived 20 minutes before opening. Even then there was multiple people parked already, waiting for the doors to open. Promptly at 8:00 am on a Friday morning, the doors opened to accept its guests. We were seated fairly quickly despite a line forming outside. QR codes but also regular menus are available. Our party of two ordered coffee, chicken and waffles, and their infamous grilled cheese Benedict (side of potatoes). It only took roughly 10 minutes before our breakfast orders were delivered. Water and coffee were refilled multiple times and the servers always had a friendly smile on their faces even though it's super early in the morning and the restaurant busy.
Be the first to ReplyCHANGE YOUR HOURS OF OPERATION, PLEASE!!!!!!!
My hubby and I navigated over to your establishment, today (TUESDAY, 3/29) and were met with a "we are NOT opened" vibe... :-( I specifically checked with Tripadvisor before we left, as I wanted to choose a place that was OPENED...!!! And I understand things are still wonky, as we exit COVID... Boooooooooooo!! Guess I chose the wrong social platform... SO DISAPPOINTED!!!! Off to Meet and Eat we went - delish!!!

Iโve been a fan of bacon and butter since they first opened in Midtown. Their last location shared space with a lesbian late night dance club. To say that it wasnโt easy on their staff to do clean up in the morning is understatement.
But consistently, since my very first visit, the food is exceptional.
The staff are spectacular.
Their daily special pastries are a sensory overload level joy.
Their cocktails always contain inventive, fresh local ingredients.
Havenโt been here? Jump in the car and burn rubber.
Only open until mid-afternoon, I think.

Nice place for brunch, Friendly Staff, and Decent Food
The food here is decent. My favorite french toast place is currently not open for breakfast or brunch currently, but this place is a very nice substitute for that. Couple things I noticed during my first time here
1)The way they do things, it looks like a good place to eat at even if you are concerned about Covid.
2)The staff does try to things in a way that does not inconvenience the customers.
Great brunch spot (even during COVID)
Quaint cafe serving breakfast foods. Bacon and lardon are in most dishes, but can be easily substituted. Organized pick up at the front. Call when you arrive and they will come out to your vehicle. Food was great! The Cali Burrito was delicious, loved the potatoes. The pasilla creama is great, ask for extra!! Tough for the brussels dish to pass as breakfast, but a nice break from the greasy spoon signatures. Will return when back in Sacramento. Order extra biscuits!!

I'll start off by saying, get here as early as possible on the weekend. The wait can easily be over a hour and I was lucky when I came as it was cold and no one wanted to eat outside, so we dined on the patio. I came for the breakfast burrito. Covered with grilled cheese. So much anticipation... And while is presentation is great, and its one of their big sellers, it was about 90% potato filled and I barely got a taste of the chorizo inside. The guacamole dipping sauce was tasty tho.
Besides that, everything was great. The biscuits and gravy are on point and my friend liked the Chile verde hash. The Guavosa mimosa is awesome as well, and can be gotten by glass or carafe.
'THE' BEST BISCUITS!
It has a Great Family and/or Friends "Hang-out-and-Eat-vibe!" The servings are large... especially the biscuits, which are my FAVORITES! If you're in to thick pancakes, theirs are the thickest I have ever seen!

We stopped for brunch on Super Bowl Sunday...this was our third attempt to overcome the crowds and eat brunch here. We figured with the big game maybe we could get in and VOILA!!! We made it. Had to sit at the counter to start, but later moved to a table. The menu was very diverse and making a selection was difficult. The portions were very generous...we took half of our servings home for the next days breakfast. We really enjoyed a carafe of mimosa along with our food!

We ate at the J Street location. My friend lives in the area. She says there is a line on the weekends. We went on Thursday morning about 9. Walked in and we were seated, many open tables. Great decor, clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff. The food! Large portions and so good you want to eat it all. My friend had the waffle and said it was the best. Fresh fruit on top and Maple syrup. I had the Pear and Pecan French Toast. Unbelievable, melt in my mouth good! I will have to force myself to try something different. I am looking forward to my next visit.

This has become a favorite stop for food on long haul inventory pickups for our business. Most likely a wait to get in, but well worth it. Have eaten through the menu and enjoyed every item. If you go, plan extra time to get in. Plan to savor the food. Itโs all in the
name.
Breakfast at Bacon & Butter
Visited last weekend and was impressed with the breakfast dishes. I had the Kitchen Sink which included bacon, potatoes, onions, mushrooms, cheese, spinach, and topped with a pair of eggs. The flavors together really worked. Portions were large and the dish was filling. Had a side of homemade Challah bread and fruit spread, which was delicious too. Coffee was strong, which is the way I prefer. Relatively a small place so there is a wait during prime time, but weโll worth it.
