Do not waste your time in NYC at this establishment.
Was visiting from Chicago and had seen photos of this beautiful cafe, so it was at the top of our list to visit for a morning coffee. The atmosphere was stunning, so like any tourist, my friend and I took photos to document the experience. The waiter was super nice at the start, but then came over to us and said in a condescending manner "is the photoshoot over?" We apologized profusely and said that we were unaware that photos were not allowed (there are no rules against it actually). He was insanely rude and proceeded to bring over the check for us to pay even though we didn't ask for it, basically forcing us to leave. There are way too many amazing coffee shops in NYC with wonderful staff to have to waste your time at this establishment. I will never recommend this place and will never visit again. This seems to be the overall sentiment for this place, so I were management, I'd make some changes. This is my 10th time visiting this city and never have I been made to feel like a terrible person for wanting to document my trip.

I visited Bar Pisellino on Sat, March 9, 2024 in the afternoon and had an extremely disappointing experience due to the behavior of the HOST, a short-haired woman. Firstly, upon entering the busy bar, there was no host present at the entrance, leading to confusion and a disorganized queue. When I attempted to inform the host that I was first in line, she rudely dismissed me, accused me of being challenging, and proceeded to seat others who arrived after me. Despite finally being seated, the host continued to be disrespectful and condescending. She made unnecessary remarks about my behavior and treated me as if I were a child, which was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. Furthermore, when I attempted to inquire about potentially joining friends, the host again refused to listen and accused me of causing trouble, demonstrating a complete lack of hospitality and customer service. Adding to the frustration, I had confirmed with the waiter that ordering two drinks was acceptable, only for the host to later use this as an excuse to accuse me of disobeying the bar's rules. She then took away my drinks and forcibly ejected me from the establishment, despite my attempts to calmly address the situation. Throughout the interaction, I couldn't help but feel DISCRIMINATED against, particularly as the only Asian woman in the line. The host's behavior from the outset, coupled with her unjustified actions, leads me to believe that her conduct may have been influenced by RACIAL PREJUDICE. Overall, my experience at Bar Pisellino was marred by the unacceptable behavior of the host. I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment due to its lack of respect for customers and potential discriminatory practices.
Be the first to ReplyNegroni was decent, Boulevardier was decent.
The cafe is small-ish but can accommodate both cafe goers and drinkers a-like. The Negronis are all preblended so you don't get a show, if that's what you're into. Nothing special about the Negroni though, it is a Negroni and there are plenty of them around in West Village.

Had the absolute best time sipping Espresso Martinis in the sun and plan to do just that for many weekends to come. The place is tiny but super cute and has a patio. The pastries looked SCRUMPTIOUS and I'm determined to try them next time. At $20 a pop the Espresso Martinis aren't cheap but they're hands down the best I've had! They're perfection. Go try them or miss out

Mediocre drinks and food but service is really what lets this place down. You can find something better by doing an online search.

This spot is a gem!!! It is quite small and oddly shaped, so expect to be in close proximity with your neighbors. It feels like you're in Europe at Bar Pisellino. The seating is a combination of booths and stools - so while not the most comfortable, the vibe makes up for it. The cocktails are wonderful, especially with so many varieties of espresso related cocktails. It's a little chaotic on a busy weekend night on how/when you get seated and getting your order in but the hosts seem very efficient so no complaints on that front!
Be the first to ReplyThis bar is a must visit every time we are in the City.
It's such a gem, and takes me to the streets of Paris. The service is always wonderful, the beverages are delicious and I love the little lite bites they offer throughout the day. It's also a great spot to relax for hours with a book or people watch with a delicious Aperol spritz.
Be the first to ReplyThe service is very bad.
The waiter treated us terrible. We ordered tea, and We'd like to add more water,he didn't want to. He rolled his eyes. Very inpatient. We spent like 30 dollars for tea, we can't even add more hot water?
Be the first to ReplyAgree with the comment that this is a Tik tok trap.
Extremely over priced for premade food staff was also not the greatest. Pulled my computer told me I couldn't which was fine then acted annoyed after I asked to take it to go then. Tiny place with minimal tables and not worth an $11 coffee.
Be the first to ReplyI have to update my review.
The first time I came here, I absolutely loved the hot chocolate. It was a very thick melty amazing chocolate! You can see a good picture with two cups of what I first had in 2022. The second photo is going in Jan 2024 and boy was it different. Still adequate but it had more milk and definitely was a let down. I'm not sure if they've changed the recipe or they have inconsistencies.

Came here for Negronis with coworkers and it was a very cute vibe! Perfect for warmer days. I just wish there was more seating.

Atmosphere: We came here after a movie night at IFC in Wets Village because we heard it was a cute place with non-alcoholic drinks. It has a very nice vibe: classy, and European-inspired. However, it's rather small, and the seating options are limited. It would be nice if they had couches facing each other or bigger tables. I had to sit side-by-side my date and share a tiny table, the other option was for me to sit across and sit on a stool. We did go at nighttime and during the winter, so we didn't want to eat at the outdoor seating. The best time to visit this place would probably be brunch in the summer or springtime.Food: The food was really tasty! We didn't order much, and yet I left really satisfied. We didn't order any alcoholic drinks, but we got the Gasossa Aranciata (which is basically orange flavored soda/sparkling water) and that went well with the Chips I ordered. The chips were neither oily nor too salty; they were light (which is plus). The best item we got was the Apricot Cornetti (basically a croissant filled with apricot jelly). That was an amazingly sweet and slightly savory dessert. Definitely recommend that.Service: Service was a mixed bag experience. The bartender was very nice and patient. He took the time to show me which drinks were non-alcoholic and recommended some food for us to order. However, one of the other servers took a short while to come to our table. And when I asked them to explain the difference between two kinds of drinks, they mumbled and when I asked them to repeat they answered with something that didn't really answer my question. It wasn't until I ordered the drink did they clarify I had to pick one of two flavors; that server seemed a bit more impatient. Overall it's passable service.
Be the first to ReplyA true highlight of our first night in NYC.
We were in the neighborhood checking out John's on Bleeker and Blind Tiger and wanted to find a place for a night cap. Bar Pisellino was the PERFECT end to our night out. It is not a huge space and does a great job of utilizing as much as then can of their unique layout being on a sharp corner. We were not able to snag a table but they had a belly bar towards the back right of the bar and it was perfect for us. My wife got a pistacchio cocktail and it was truly one of the best drinks I've had in recent memory. A great balance of salty, creamy, and sweet with just a hint of gin.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a couple of Negroni's which were good.
Our only complaint was that they tasted different from each other. And my friend commented on how much ice there was in the glass. It was really really packed with ice so we didn't get so much Negroni we ordered a little bitty something to eat which was good it's mostly for people watching and talking and great location in the village. It's just a cute place to hang out.
Be the first to ReplyLooks great.
The service is amazing. The place is very ascetically pleasing with their fancy trays. But we went head because it was voted the best hot chocolate in NYC. It was not good. The parities were delicious.
Be the first to ReplyJust had the best cocoa and egg salad sandwich ever.
Small servings are perfect and plenty and so yummy. When we visit NYC again, I will be coming back more than once. And the staff are Italians! What a fun relaxing time.

Came here for drink after dinner as a recommendation from our friends who live in nyc. I walked in and felt like I was back in Italy. The drinks were fantastic. I had a great aperol spritz. My friend had a delicious pistachio drink. The Negroni was also very good. It was busy so we stood at the side bar which worked perfect. I don't understand why it only has 3.5 stars. Definitely recommend for great cocktails.

waited about 20 minutes to get a table had some cocktails and some snacks. lovely place to sit and watch west village walk by. Very Italian caffe like here.
Be the first to ReplyBest hot chocolate (called cioccolato caldo on the menu)
Best hot chocolate (called cioccolato caldo on the menu) I've ever had and this place is definitely one I will try to come back to when I'm in NYC next. I highly recommend ordering the cioccolato caldo; I hesitate calling it hot chocolate because that makes you think of a very milky drink that has some cocoa powder. This is more thick hot "drinking" chocolate with potentially a splash of milk that I needed a tiny spoon to help drink it. This drink has made me change how I plan to make "hot chocolate" moving forward.

I was on a mission to find a nice hot chocolate that would satisfy the picture of the tradition winter drinking hot chocolate from my childhood memories. Every list online listed Bar Pisellino as a must try for this type of thick hot chocolate. I think it was totally a fine product, enjoyable even but not what I would want to go back for. There were some good things like the whip cream they put on top. But the taste of the chocolate itself was fairly one note and the texture was so thick I couldn't get the remaining third out of the cup. This was also the most expensive hot chocolate I've tried this season for a fairly small product. The ambiance was nice-exactly like a cafe in Italy.

The hot chocolate is literally a dessert! It is super thick and rich. The drink is absolutely delicious. I had it in the dead of winter and it warmed me up instantly. You are definitely in for a treat! We sat outside because seating was full inside. It's a very small space but inside is beautiful. The bar is elegant and the staff as well. This is a very unique and worthy sweet moment!

Food is great, Drinks are great, Ambiance is great, however, STAFF rudeness means it cannot get a 5-star rating. The few times I have been there, the staff just don't want to bond. It is as if you are a nuisance, particularly when it gets busy. And when my friend asked for a second glass of wine, while her glass still had some left of the first order, only half a glass was added. You tell me - should I ding them even more for staff attitude, and go down to 3 stars?
Be the first to ReplyPricy coffee.
Friendly staff. Beautiful aesthetically pleasing Italian cafe shop vibes. Wish they had more items on the menu! I did not get the chance to try their alcoholic drinks but the shakerato was great!

Insane vibes, insane drinks. Great location. Good for pre dinner
Be the first to Replythis place is ok.
the only good thing was the lemonade! i'm gonna have dreams about it lol. it hits the spot on a hot day. the bathrooms are clean. the tables inside r tiny and are bolted to the floor. so good luck getting out if you have bags and more than one person with you. had a long wait to sit inside too. very tiny inside. i think they are known for outdoor seating but i don't like sitting outside.
