My friends and I arrived hours before to Oslo, Norway and we found Bass Oslo and had the best conversation with Martien and Elise who were running everything that evening along with the chef who made us a spectacular meal. Oh my goodness it was a cultural experience. I'm used to restaurants being busy but in Bass Oslo everyone was not busy... They were enjoying themselves. I've never experienced that before.

I celebrated my 29th birthday at Bass Oslo with a large group of friends last night. We enjoyed ourselves immensely! The food was good, the wine was good, and the service was superb. They accommodated all 15 of us, including those with special dietary requirements. They even played Stevie Wonder's "Happy Birthday" on the stereo system in honor of my birthday. Thank you for helping make my special day a memorable evening, we will be coming back!

Wow what an experience! Loved the ambience, loved the food and loved the service. Would definitely go back when they change their menu. The food is like Scandinavian tapas, very interesting combinations with fresh and very high quality ingredients. Everything was very yummy and lots to choose from even if you don't eat meat. I loved the style of the place, the slightly rough edge industrial feeling to it. To top that they had good wines and a very good margharita!

Overrated, overpriced, uninteresting food with a boring ambiance! This restaurant is out to skim you as much money as possible with very simple and uninteresting food. First the wine list, wine by the glass all start from 100kr & above and most wine by the bottle are from 500kr onwards... As for the menu, guess what, its the "sharing concept" thing which has been such popular for the past 2 years in Oslo. They offer very limited 7 choices that changes whenever... On my visit, there were 3 meat, 3 seafood and 2 vegetables. We were recommended to share at least 5 dishes between 2 person. So, we had the following:1) fritert kylling (similar to chicken karaage) 65kr: salty & boring2) Rå kveite (halibut ceviche) 110kr: overpowering oyster sause that make it more fishy3) Skorsonnerot (some kind of root vege) 80kr: gruyere sauce was good but just boring4) Rå ytrefilet (carpaccio sirloin) 150kr: very balanced & one of the best5) Torsk (cod) 110kr: one of the worst & a waste of a good piece of cod due to the bad mushroom sauce.Overall, the food were mainly salty drenched in heavy sauces (some are reuse in other dishes) to cover up their mediocre food. Here's something for the owner to consider... If you are charging so high with such limited menu and putting so much sauce in your dishes, why dont you even offer some bread on the table so we can at least wipe off those sauces from the plate and at the same time fill up our tummy with the bread??? Extra Note: The interior seems unfinished with minimal ecstatic with bright light throughout the restaurant with no ambiance, thus, not a place for romantic dinner. You will find some random and unrelated portraits like Jerry Seinfeld & wheelchair bound Christopher Reese in the bathroom which i thought it's a bit morbid and bad taste for a restaurant...
