The service was exceptional and so was the food.
Mash potatoes with truffle and filet mignon. And I can't forget the Brussels sprouts.

Delicious food! I would highly recommend the steakhouse, it is expensive, but worth it for the ambience, service and quality of food!
Be the first to ReplyGreat steak place in midtown.
Came here while visiting for work with my fiancé. The interior was nicely done for a modern looking steakhouse. We ordered the porterhouse for two and it came out perfectly cooked and juicy. We then ordered the bacon and Mac n cheese for our sides. Both were amazing. I love getting bacon at NYC steakhouses since they are alway thick slab. Cocktails are perfectly crafted and they do pour heavy so you get your moneys worth. Servers came out and spoke often to us and with so many servers running around you always had someone available to help if you needed somethingOverall this is a great place to enjoy a steak and cocktails. I will 100% come back when visiting the city again.

Wanted to like it but steaks were charcoal burnt on the outside and not cooked on the inside. I love medium rare but it was way too uncooked. Was unfortunately not worth the price tag.
Be the first to ReplyI recently visited Benjamin's on Valentine's Day.
It was an absolute great experience. Great service from the staff! The place was full of people and so lively. Would definitely recommend ! Awesome job Benjamin's!
Be the first to ReplyI went here for Valentine's Day I was seated got my drinks
I went here for Valentine's Day I was seated got my drinks quickly. Then we ordered off the pre-fixe menu so the waiter knows are entire order. I order a lobster bisque (which wasn't hot/warm) I told the waiter I was done with my appetizer he told me "Sir you're not done keep eating I will be back" I didn't see this waiter for the next 20mins he refused to knowledge my table until he felt I was done eating my food. He took our plates now we are waiting for the main dish which took 45mins. Other guests sitting next to me was asking me "How come your food is taking this long you was here before me and I'm getting dessert already" I watched guests that was seated after me get their food and leave the restaurant. I finally got my dish my girlfriend ordered a medium ribeye which was cooked well done. The manager came over took out his phone use the flashlight on the steak to see how it was cooked and said he would get her a medium steak. So she had to watch me eat my food while her other steak is being prepared. The manager asks her to cut this steak with his flashlight so he could see if this was cooked medium. It was good after that. Now here comes the bill V-day menu was $125pp my bill said $350. The waiter charged me 2x for $30 mash which was included in the pre fixe so after reading my receipt I knew something was wrong after paying. He came back and said my card declined because they was in the back swipe the card so it locked it for fraud. Now the manager sees my receipt and tells them to void the $350 charge and tells him the mash is included in the pre fixe menu and gives me 40% discount on my bill. So I had to call my bank outside answer all the fraud questions so they can unlock my card and I swiped my own card. That was the worst waiter ever I wish I got his name because he overcharged my card got it locked and the manager had to be my new waiter for the night. I arrived at Benjamin for 8pm reservations I left 11:30. WORST EXPERIENCE AT A NYC STEAKHOUSE
Be the first to ReplyWe had a reservation but got there about 30 minutes early.
Sat at the bar and ordered a couple of drinks before our table was ready. Went there to celebrate a birthday and they gave us a great table. We had a great time. Food was terrific. Ambiance was upbeat throughout. A little more festive on the lower level and a bit tamer on the top level. My appetizer was the fried calamari and it was very good. I had the filet mignon with mashed potato and spinach on the side as my main entree. My steak was cooked medium and to perfection. The spinach was one of the best I've ever had. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. Definitely looking forward to coming back next time I'm in the Big Apple.

I went here for dinner on a Friday night during restaurant week which I was unaware that they were participating in. Everything was excellent- martini with blue cheese olives, tomato and cheese plate, prime NY steak and dessert. Service was excellent with the waiter, runners and bus-people. The bonus was they had a fixed menu with good portions at a significantly reduce price. Overall great experience and a bonus for eating here during NYC restaurant week.

Excellent very good service great food and ambience our waiter was attentive but did not crowd us. The steak was delicious I would highly recommend this fine establishment. Thank you for the quick seating since we did not have a reservation.

Come here during Restaurant Week - $60 gets you a filet mignon, appetizer, and a dessert! Can't beat that!I didn't do that. I splurged and got a ribeye, a wedge salad with creamy garlic dressing (subbed out the blue cheese dressing because I'm not a fan of blue cheese personally - TEAM RANCH baby!), and the creamless spinach. Delicious! Very nice meal, very good service, and overall experience. Would come back for sure! Give'em a try if you're looking for a steak in the city.

I had been really itching to try this place for a while, based solely on its location. I've walked by here so many times and never stopped in until now. I didn't have time to make a reservation, so I went in expecting to have to wait. The entrance is pretty dark, you walk straight in to the desk, the bar is to the left. I was seated pretty quickly but wow the place was packed! Clearly this is a place to go after work if you're in the area. And WOW it was so LOUD! Not the place for a quiet or romantic meal. After I was seated I was given a menu, which was pretty decent but small. I ordered a glass of red wine. I had the French onion soup which was super gooey with cheese and seasoned very well. I was also given a bread basket and some butter/olive oil. For dinner I had the NY strip medium which was cooked to perfection for me. It was bone in and cut for me. No steak sauce ever required!! I was too full for a side or dessert. Service was wonderful and he was very attentive without being overbearing. The biggest downfall was how loud it was.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for restaurant week with a large group of friends.
A really nice intimate spot, ideal for a date. You get that old school steakhouse feel. I had the sirloin steak which was cooked exactly how I wanted it, medium and had the grilled calamari. Great attention and service by the staff. If you have never been to this steakhouse I recommend it.

This steakhouse is so good from service to the food big thumbs up. The steaks I order were cooked to a prefect medium just the way I like it and seasoned well. The staffs are nice and friendly. Atmosphere feels cozy and comfortable. Overall great steakhouse.

The general manager was amazing and so pleasant. I will definitely be back again
Be the first to ReplyBenjamin's follows the traditional steakhouse formula --
Benjamin's follows the traditional steakhouse formula -- low light, dark paneling, potato / cream(less) spinach. Service is friendly. I ordered the lobster bisque for an appetizer. Tasty, creamy, definitely a fair amount of actual lobster. Next came their "signature steak," which according to my server was the bone-in ribeye. It arrived cooked to order, well salted, juicy and very flavorful. It comes on the bone rather than carved. Sides -- Brussels Sprouts and home fries -- were NYC steakhouse industry standards. The only real drawback is the wine list, which is extensive but not particularly approachable for reasonably priced wines. I didn't recognize anything under $200. But, this is a NYC Steakhouse steps away from Grand Central, so the huge markup on wine should surprise nobody.
Be the first to ReplyA good steakhouseA flawless service and great wine list.
We took porterhouse for 4 and the tomahawk, And started with the amazing thick bacon, we were 6 and it was great
Be the first to ReplyI enjoyed my experience.
It was very hectic in there on Valentine's Day! I'm giving 4 stars because they mixed up our orders but it's very minor, everything tastes amazing here. Literally Everything.

After our first time here, hands down one of our favorite steak houses. Great food and customer service especially at the bar with G and I forget the lovely woman's name - she has short blond hair and a great sense of humor. Coming back, highly recommend! The porter house and Mashed potatoes are a must. The drinks were excellent as well- not too sweet, strong but balanced in taste

Really impressed by the vibes, high ceiling, decorated in a classic steakhouse styles. We came here for the restaurant week deals $59 per pax (including tax + tip) less than $80. We got appetizers, fried calamari was really crispy from the outside but soft inside. Imported buffalo mozzarella was really refreshing. For the entree, we got New York Sirloin and grilled salmon, both are cooked perfectly as you ordered.Sides we selected Benjamin house fried and creamy spinach, I love the fried while thinking that spinach is too salty. We also got desserts for this deal, we selected chocolate mousse and new york cheesecake, both are on point. For this price, I gave it 5 star review.
Be the first to ReplyWill never come back again and the worst steak experience
Will never come back again and the worst steak experience ever had in NYC. Before seated: We appeared at 7:30 as our reservation time, however the restaurant told us to wait to be seated, and at the same time there were around at least another 8 groups of people who made the reservation were waiting to be seated. And we eventually was seated at 8:10, which was 40 mins later. Then what's the point of making reservation?!Steak and food: We came here for the steak, but the filet mignon tastes blank and looks like burnt outside. The NY sirloin was just eatable. The spinach side was too salty and not tasty at all. Speaking of the desserts, chocolate mousse tasted like made by sugar only, I only had one bite and barely could eat. The cheesecake even did not taste fresh. It's overpriced and overrated place. Terrible experience.
