Big Sur Bakery has been a gem for may years and it's truly sad what happened on May 3 of this year. I usually got my Avacado toast and a coconut pineapple tea au lait ( my favorite ) Their variety of pastries were always on point and my kids alw
Don’t Go
This place was highly recommended in various travel blogs we’d researched. Travelled a while to get there and it had simply vanished! The petrol pump assistant said he thought it had burnt down last week ….. Noted other equally bemused visitors

Ordered some lovely pastries while down in Big Sur on
Ordered some lovely pastries while down in Big Sur on vacation. Our favorite had to be the Maple Bacon Bow so yummy. The location is gorgeous with beautiful landscaping and the staff kind as well. But beware the wild turkeys are no joke. They will
I still think about the maple bacon pastry.
Go early, expect a line and items to run out. Worth it.
Did I really spend $50+ at this little bakery off the road
Did I really spend $50+ at this little bakery off the road in Big Sur? Yes, and I don't regret it. We hopped in line Monday late morning after checking out of our camp site. The line was already out the door. After placing your order at the cou
Can't accommodate a walk-in party of ONE with 2 full hours
Can't accommodate a walk-in party of ONE with 2 full hours of service remaining and less than a dozen people in the restaurant? Embarrassing. Was looking forward to this meal, but I will not bother trying again.
Crazy Expensive
Very, very expensive! The food was good, but considering I had a salad and a bowl of soup, not sure $50 is a good value. Also, the waitress seemed taken aback when I walked in, solo, and asked for a table. She said she had to check the reservation
Great coffee
Italian style caffè, great. Next to a friendly art gallery and a nice, laid back giftshop. Clean outhouses. Nice ladies, one of whom actually spoke some ( good!) French.

Much more than a bakery!
Don’t let the name throw you off. This is also a great dinner restaurant. We recently celebrated our anniversary here and had an outstanding dinner!!! Everything from the appetizers, the main course and the dessert was outstanding. The service was
Outrageous prices for completely ordinary coffee
A completely ordinary cappuccino costs the best part of ten dollars here. Frankly there's something wrong with us for paying it.
Great coffee. Even better dinner
We visited the bakery 3 mornings. It was good. Wry good actually. However, the big surprise was the dinner we had at the restaurant one night. We didn’t know they served dinner but saw a hand painted signs that said “dinner tonight. 5:00”. I p
Great roadside stop!
We stopped in for fuel and refreshments. The bakery is fun and delicious. Great little wayside stop where you can fuel, use the restroom, shop a little, and get some coffee to go.
Amazing
Phenomenal dinner worthy of Michelin stars on Californias Central Coast. Starters included oysters with pear mignonette, local Tuna with Persimmon and a velvety squash bisque. The main course was a beautifully cooked ribeye with lingonberry’s and t
Connect with users posting reservations for Big Sur Bakery
AppointmentTrader is a community-driven platform where users can exchange their reservations or leverage their personal relationships with Big Sur Bakery. Buyers can make informed decisions using automated seller ratings, which reflect past transactions and reliability.
Each posting on AppointmentTrader shows you which user submitted it and along with that provides a trackrecord of that user which indicates how much experience
the user has and how many percent of their transactions resulted in them issuing a refund.
If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.
Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Big Sur Bakery at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Big Sur Bakery page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* FluffyStar64, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* FluffyStar64 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to FluffyStar64 for any questions Peter may have as FluffyStar64 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* FluffyStar64 now uses their connections at Big Sur Bakery to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If FluffyStar64 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, FluffyStar64 receives the $200 reward which is credited to FluffyStar64's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Big Sur Bakery!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
