Went for lunch meal was good service was terrible the
Went for lunch meal was good service was terrible the waiter asked my husband how his meal was not once did he ask the female we where in before 4 other tables he served all of them before us and when I complained he said it was because they where busy. We were then waiting on our coffee and again he served the other tables before us and when they came again he asked my husband if he needed sugar but never asked myself again and just walked away from the table. But before the coffee came they where quick at bringing the card machine to pay for lunch. How one bad waiter ruins a business never be back lol
Be the first to ReplyFoods normally always nice.
..However, I would warn you.DONT TIP.... It does not go to the waiting staff, it will go to the owner!!! This is gospel, from at least 2 ex staff.

Used to go here when I lived in Hamilton many many years ago. Had the pleasure of coming again last week. It was absolutely fabulous. Best curry & pakora I've had in years. Biggest naan bread I've ever seen! Only complaint was the waiter took my food away without asking me if I wanted to take the leftovers home. Otherwise service & food was great. Couldn't believe the place had to make a table for us on a Wednesday, that's how busy it was at lunch time!!

Do not tip they only keep for themselves they do not give to the workers , I know On another point ,.my friend and I went there for lunch a while back we used to go a lot on this occasion my friend left and was walking to her car when the manager original owners son chased after her and told her she had left something he handed her 10 pence she said oh thank you but you didn't come after me last week when I left you £5 ? So thank you for 10 pence I will save them in future and buy a car just like yours (he had a brand new one) we do not go there anymore we I have extra I give it I spend my money at another one it's not like you can't find others 10 a penny and just as good Amran tandoori was best in Hamilton I still use their take always since they closed the restaurant years ago

Be the first to ReplySuperb Indian restaurant.
They do pre theatre menu for £12.95 for 3 course and right across road from townhouse so great prior to events. Varied menu and lovely meal. Will go back when not in a rush to get to the theatre

Food outstanding. I have to recommend the huge peshwari naan breads they are to die for!
Be the first to ReplyI'm like a moth.
Every time I've driven past this restaurant, I've noticed the nice bright green neon lights that line all the outside windows, and, tonight I travelled ten miles to try it. I booked a table for eight-thirty and was given a nice big booth with plenty of room for two.I'm not the hardest of rednecks and feel that I have a more sensitive palate than some of my peers. I like spicy, but not 'burny' food. I didn't want to fill myself up with a huge starter and leave no room for my main course, so I had spiced onions, poppadoms and a prawn poori to share between two. The poori was in a sweet 'n' sour patia sauce and was delicious. The spiced onions were just perfect; not too spicy and very tasty. The poppadoms were just poppadoms.I like a chicken tikka cooked in a tandoori oven, so I thought I'd try it in here. I was not let down at all. It came to me on an iron plate, sizzling loudly, and when I could bear the heat, I tasted it and just closed my eyes in ecstasy. It really was the most delicious of all the tastes I've ever had in an Indian/tandoori restaurant. The plate had too many pieces on it for me to finish, so I got them to put the rest in a doggy bag for me, (I reckoned that the chicken would still be lovely even when it was cold). The service was impeccable and the restaurant had a nice ambience to it. The music was real popular hits from all the years with original artists.I cannot this fault this restaurant and would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality place to eat. It's not the cheapest, so don't go on a budget. ( I suppose it keeps the riff-raff out.). My meal for two cost just over £40
Be the first to ReplyBombay Cottage has a good rep.
I went to school in the area, and the owners son also went to my school and all I ever heard kids and parents alike was how fantastic it was. I have been a few times myself, and on each they waiters have given me a rose on leaving! How lovely, I knew I always liked this place. So between the bf and I we had korma and madras (extra spicey). Yes the madras was mine, I have extremely high tolerance for spicey food and never become victim of tummy troubles afterwards, thank god. My dish was really good, and so was the slices of nan in a basket. The rice was infised with herds and tasty tasy, which means it must have been good because I don't usually eat rice which isn't brown. The drinks are so expensive though so I politely ask for a jug of tap water to start and then never request anything further. I am cheap, and I love it.
Be the first to ReplyI would go out on a limb here and say that you will find it
I would go out on a limb here and say that you will find it incredibly hard to say a bad word about the Bombay Cottage. The staff are very professional and polite, the restaurant itself is cosy and comfortable, and tastefully decorated and the food is worthy of my five star rating. My boyfriend and I went here at the weekend with his family for dinner. It was a Friday night and really busy. As we stepped in the door, the waiter greeted us, took our jackets and led us to our seats, even placing my napkin over my knee! The waiters could not have been more attentive and made sure we had drinks and menus. We ordered the sharing platter which was 12.99 and meant for two people. It came on a silver platter and was more than enough for the 4 of us! The chicken tikka was tender and moist, probably the best I have ever tasted. The platter also came with a selection of pakoras including chicken and fish, which I loved. The mango chutney was sweet and thick with huge chunks of mango in it and the poppadoms were crispy and delicious. We were all full to the brim before the main meals arrived!I had ordered a Chicken Tikka Garam Masala and we had rice and nann to share. When it arrived it didn't look like a lot of food but it was! It had a lovely rich, spicy sauce and tasted just on the right side of burnt, which was the chicken tikka cooked on charcoal coming through. Delicious. We didn't even bother looking at the sweet menu! We were all so full we just needed a lie down!As we were leaving, the waiter brought over a red rose for me and the other woman at the table, which was a lovely touch! The best Indian I have ever been to! Not the cheapest, but then you don't mind paying extra when you get value for money, and this place definitely delivers.
