I love this restaurant. The staff is lovely and the food is SO good! There is a dessert that they are famous for. Do yourself a favor and try it!

Been going here for a few years now, and the food and service have always been consistent and great. The owner is such a friendly man who made my family and I drinks as we waited for our table. They were made in such an artistic fashion and not only were they aesthetically pleasing, but also delicious! The food was amazing as always, and at the end of our meal we had some wonderful dessert shots on the house (forgot to ask what it was, but they were delicious!)
Be the first to Replyfood was so good, it was my first time trying mediterranean.
the restaurant has a cozy feel to it with dim lighting and the staff are very nice. :)

I really liked having dinner here and it has a really good reputation with our friends as well. Both the service and food were really good. The menu has a lot of great choices, it was hard narrowing it down to what we selected. For a lot of people it might be out of their way to get to but it's worth the driveOnly negative is their parking lot, not enough spots and kind of tight

Great food and service would definitely recommend eating here!Definitely nice to eat outside if possible

The food is always fresh and delicious. Service is excellent. One of our favorite restaurants. We highly recommend!

This is a great addition to the Port Washington culinary scene! We didn't do the outdoor dining but did takeout instead. The outdoor dining looked nice though and very popular. For the food, my favorites were the hummus and the baklava, so good! I wish the hummus came with pita instead of the bread but the bread was good. For the entrees we tried the salmon and shrimp. I liked how the shrimp came with grilled vegetables and were well seasoned. The salmon was a little dry and over cooked, and came with a sizeable salad. I wish they had more of a lemon garlic sauce option, as that is usually my go to at Mediterranean restaurants. Overall though it was very good! Will be back to try the chocolate baklava.
Be the first to ReplyThe decor and the food is extraordinary.
Ordered the kebab platter and Turkish pizza with meat pepperoni. The chicken is oh so tender and packed with flavor. The sides are serious with a nice vinegar onion salad plus lots of veggies. Turkish pizza was unexpectedly good as they make their own dough. Love the colorful light display - you'll understand when you visit. Enjoy

.. Wow! Never disappoints! Getting into the Christmas spirit!

My grandparents came from Turkey, and Bosphorus is the real deal. Very good food, generous portions and efficient, friendly service. One of my favorite dishes is the chicken adana kebab with yogurt. The branzino, salmon and shrimp are all fresh and well prepared. I also recommend the zucchini pancakes and falafel for appetizers. The Turkish "pizzas" are interesting. One of the managers is a real dog lover, so my four-legged friend usually gets a treat, and the waiters always bring a water dish for him without being asked. They have indoor and outdoor dining. The only downside is that it looks out on a parking lot in a truly shabby strip mall.

We were there last night and I must say it was probably the nastiest meat I have ever had! My husband started chewing on the shish kebab and stopped chewing immediately and then he smelled the meat it smelled like a dead rat! We don't know why they used such an old meat, but it was so bad he felt sick almost all day the next day! The only reason I gave them 3 stars is because the appetizers were good. Please stop using old meat to serve your customers we will never ever recommend this place to anyone again.

I was in need of a little nosh and popped in to Bosphorus cafe grill. We got an order of the falafel, LAVAS bread and spicy feta. All the food came out piping hot which I love. The falafel were just okay and the LAVAS came out in perfect puffy fashion. The stars though, was the spicy feta. Not over whipped like you've seen on TikTok's and it had the perfect amount of spice. I want to come back to try the manti next so I can get a better idea
Be the first to ReplyMy absolute favorite spot on Long Island for Turkish food.
Not only is Bosphorus in an awesome location (Port Washington, so close to the water). You truly cannot go wrong with anything on the menu - my family and I have tried essentially everything! I love their Haydari and all their meze dips, their Turkish cheese flatbreads, their Adana meats... not to mention they make GREAT cocktails. My favorites are Istanmule and Turkish Espresso Martini. 10/10!
Be the first to ReplyIf I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would.
We came there Saturday night with a reservation. The restaurant was extremely packed and when we arrived the manager told us we would have to wait as there was another table ahead of us. When I asked how long the wait would be he replied " probably a long time". Even with a reservation they expected us to wait outside while other people were seated ahead of us. They were not apologetic at all and acted quite rude with us. A little courtesy and respect go along way post Covid when we know as customers we will be paying a premium at restaurants for food and drink. But a nice attitude doesn't cost a dime! Won't go here again.
Be the first to ReplyI made a reservation for six people on Saturday.
I called a week ahead of time. When we arrived there it looks like they took too many walk ins/reservations. The maรฎtre d'/manager staff was extremely rude and condescending.. They wouldn't give us a update on how long the table would be available. No point in making reservations.....

3.5 stars overall.Lovely spot for Turkish and Mediterranean style eats. Conveniently located near a few shopping plazas and they have parking! The front section normally for parking, is currently for the outdoor dining pods. There are a few four seaters but mainly the pods are made for two. They run snug. Restaurant said they have to be reserved but I didn't have an issue as I went early (6pm on a Friday) and they accommodated us. There are plenty of outdoor tables without the pod but we wanted to be away from the crowds.Saw so many pics of the recommended Lavas Hollow Bread. It is indeed a must try but it didn't come with anything. So we had to order dips/spreads separately (hummus and tzatziki) to accompany that. We ordered the zucchini cakes - skip. Not flavorful or memorable, just plain. For Entrees we had the lamb combo (comes with two types of lamb: Adana and Shish). The Adana was more tender and the shish was a little dry. But good flavors (spices) and the portion was good. And we tried the Fish Delight, which was St. Peter fish. The wait staff couldn't describe it well but we gathered it was filet and white fish. Again, a little on the dry side. My friend didn't care for it.Skipped dessert as it was early and I was on a mission to go somewhere else. We did get to see the inside (main dining room), at a quick glance it was nice and clean. Pretty lamps and fixtures. We came for the Turkish experience but left with mixed reviews.

I love coming here!! The food is amazing and so is the service. I came during the month of Ramadan so my husband and I were fasting. The owner was so nice and set up a place for us to pray, he really went out of his way to do this and I can not tell you how much we appreciated it. The food is always amazing. For apps I recommend: Lentil soup or cheese rolls For dinner: they have amazing gyro platter, adena kabob This restaurant is also located by the water so you can stroll there before or after your meal !!

Bosphorus is great! Expensive but the appetizers/dips are great, especially in comparison to a lot of the other mediterranean restaurants around here..

Will certainly come back -especially for the special bread appetizer.

When we looked at the online menu, it seemed limited for my picky-eater husband but we were both happily surprised to find a couple more items on the restaurant's hard copy menu. We both ordered the Chicken Combo (off-the-skewer shish & adana kebab) that was sided by soft & flavorful orzo-inflected jasmine rice, pickled cabbage & red onions, matchstick carrots, all of which added great color & flavor to the chicken. Our friends ordered a huge to-share salad which, quite frankly, looked beautiful & filling in its presentation & heft. We also ordered the mixed appetizer platter of babaganoush (SO velvety & smoky), hummus & tzatziki & lavash, the air-filled, thin crusted balloonish bread. We all agreed our meals were great, filled with wonderful seasonings, the bubble that we sat in cocooned us from the evening's cold weather even though its door had multiple rips/holes in it (no individual heater). There was an upright gas-fired heater for other tables to share. On the other hand, in these still-slightly-concerning waning days of COVID, the inside was packed, with diners seated like tinned sardines. Service was friendly enough but not exactly too attentive. If we are in the area, we will gladly return again.
Be the first to ReplyThis was my second time here.
Both times had friendly, attentive service. I chose the doner (lamb gyro) platter which came with seasoned jasmine rice, raw onions and julienned carrots. Flavorful and delicious- 4.5 stars. They have a selection of cocktails, wine and beer. Prices are fair for the high food quality and large portions. They have a parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. Free Turkish tea with Yelp check in. Heated outdoor and indoor seating available. The place was packed which is understandable as the food is excellent.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous authentic Turkish cuisine.
Love the mezzes, lavash bread and the Adana Iskender. So yummy!

Food was delicious from appetizers to the complimentary apple tea. ย The only reason why this is not 5 stars is because the staff lacks enthusiasm and a little professionalism. The food is a lot to be proud of, but the staff acts they don't really want to be there. ย It's unfortunate because we were very e to have the experience.

Be the first to ReplyIf you like Turkish food, this is the place to go.
The food is fresh and delicious. This is a review of their food. We always order out: Spinach Pide(one of my favorite. The spinach is exceptionally tasty), Gyro Pide, Adana Lamb kebab(comes with rice. Very tender and never fry), babaghanous, hummus and baklava. Highly recommend the food. All of their food is seasoned really well and consistently good.
