Buckeye Express Diner Bellville Reviews from The Last Year
Not fancy.
Food is good. Sort of a dump hit the food is good. Usually looks Like it's closed but the food is good. Nice servers. Met the owner who was on site.
You walk in & order as soon as you get in the door & then
You walk in & order as soon as you get in the door & then seat yourself. It was fun eating in the train car and I loved all the Buckeye memorabilia. There was 1 girl waiting the entire place but she was on the ball & was personable. Burgers were good. I had a Woody burger & my wife had the bacon cheese burger. Fries were great & you get a ton. A big part of the lower score is that the whole place needed a good cleaning.

We loved it!! Fun restaurant for any age Counter service, diner type menu and fair prices The burgers were top notch. Cravable and would stop back again We loved the fries, plenty to share one order with two people Poppers too! Very friendly service

Drove out of our way on the way home to stop here because it looked cool. Got held up on the way and made it there at 720pm. Door was locked but sign said open. Hostess told us orders only accepted until 715pm. I do usually try not to get somewhere right at close and hadn't planned to do so this time, but pretty frustrated to be turned away when the place is still "open" according to the sign and the hours listed online...
Met our grandson and friends at this place for his birthday.
Nice theme, nice story; an abandoned steam engine [number 917] found, dismantled, transported, reassembled, hooked to a small tender, pullman car and a caboose and turned into an attraction and restaurant. The place was nice, honestly beginning to see its wear, but nice, nonetheless. As with most small businesses, struggling with not enough help, forget quality help, just getting help seems to be the best anyone can ask for these days. This issue alone is being reflected in the food. It's decent, but not much more than that. Hand cut fries were limp, a bit greasy, and tasted of overused, slightly burnt cooking oil. Fried bologna was of good quality, however, way underprepared probably due to its incredible thickness [nearly half an inch] couldn't possibly get warm enough without burning before service . Condiments are in packet form, kinda takes away from the real diner feel, but understood. I don't know, probably won't be back, not for anything detrimental, just mediocrity, nothing to draw me back. There is, however, loads of potential. Oh, and add them to the list of worthless receipt providers. All you get is a stupid CC receipt. I get that same info from my bank 3 seconds after I pay, sure don't need that silly piece of paper. Besides that, receipt never adds up to the menu prices anyway, what we need is the itemized receipt.

Food is good! Family friendly and good service.
A little pricy but it's quality and a lot of fries with the burgers and sandwiches. Thick fried bologna, fresh handmade chicken salad, and fresh hand pressed burgers are the way they do it here. Awesome train conversion to a diner adorned with football memorabilia throughout. Most The Ohio State University, but also Ohio U Bobcats, and Cleveland Browns represented. It's like someone needed a place to store their collection and decided to open an awesome train restaurant to put it in. Outside is a play zone and all kinds of old west scenes surrounding the area. Captivated by the layout and decor, but don't touch display items. Absolutely worth checking out. Only issue right now is figuring how to get up there. Take the first road to the left of the building that look like a non paved construction access road up the hill. Can't wait to pass through again to try something else on the menu!
Great food! Love the decorations! And the service was good
Great food! Love the decorations! And the service was good too! Definitely Ohio State Buckeyes territory.
Disappointed after reading all the good reviews
The menu is on the wall behind the cashier who is also waitress. Had to stand there and order. Waitress/cashier was great however I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was tough and did not taste cooked . I was given my money back and an apology.
Ohio hot spot
Adorable affordable delicious spot to find. A hidden gem. The food is always so delicious. The employee are so nice. It is a must see for sure🥰
Fun diner for a great meal
I stoped at the Buckeye Express Diner on a recommendation from a friend. The experience was very good. The format is a bit different and the inside dining is mainly in an old train car. Very fun and different. The burger and fries I had Wes great and more than I could finish. Fairly priced and super friendly people. I can’t wait to return to try other thing on the menu.
So cute!
Very cute train diner! Decorated all in Ohio State! We got burgers, onion rings and fried pickles. Everything was really good. Everyone was really nice. Very kid friendly outside also. World's largest bobblehead is there too! We definitely will be back!
Stopped here randomly on a Sunday while out driving around
Stopped here randomly on a Sunday while out driving around and the food was excellent! had the special Grinch burger and it was delicious, fries were good too. Fun atmosphere and good-quick service. it was cold out and place isn't insulated so a little chilly eating but we still enjoyed it. Would definitely stop in again if around this area.
Buckeye fans unite!
We were traveling by this years ago and this year we timed it to be able to eat dinner here. This is well worth the trip especially if you are a Buckeye fan. The train car that you dine inside of is decked out in Buckeye decor. The cheeseburgers that we ordered were huge and I thought there is no way I can eat this, but it was so good I had no problem.
Not the best. Go somewhere else to eat.
My Wife and I have been here a couple of times. Food was ok. Always took a while to get our food. For what you get, I think it is pretty$$$$, for just getting a sandwich and fries. all of our food was lukewarm and the fries were greasy as shi@, under cooked.
The Buckeye Express Diner is my all time favorite "burger
The Buckeye Express Diner is my all time favorite "burger and fries" place. I stop here anytime I'm in the Mansfield/Belleville area. The diner is housed in an old railroad dining car and there are other old "train things" like an old locomotive on site. The restaurant sits up on a hill behind all the gas stations and fast food restaurants along the main road. On my last visit, I had the "Woody" which is a burger with a horse radish sauce. The burger was excellent and the fries are always great. Even my wife who is not a burger freak like me, loves their burgers and fries. The menu is heavy on burgers and sandwiches, including hotdogs and fish. The prices are very reasonable. Top of my list for burgers and fries.
Had the Woody burger and a pizza burger, fries and
Had the Woody burger and a pizza burger, fries and mushrooms. The burgers were barely seasoned, and the hand cut fries are what you would expect from a fair. It was diner food. Best part was that it all came out good and hot. Service was alright, was quick and efficient. You order and find a seat. The kids delivering the food were pleasant. The train cars were fun, loaded with OSU memorabilia. The decor kept you busy looking, while your food cooked. Bathrooms needed some love. The stall doors didn't shut, and the door to the women's bathroom was kept wide open and didn't completely close. Same issue for men's restroom, although no stall, just one toilet and a urinal. My husband walked in on someone sitting on the toilet. Oops.
Good for being in the middle of no where Ohio.
I thought my pizza burger was 2-3mins over cooked but still edible if a tad past well done is your thing. The fries and onion rings could have used seasoning otherwise they are good. I do agree with another yelp review. The place could use some renovation as high touched surfaces are worn. Table we sat at was passed it prime and had 3inch wobble.
Lunch on a day off from work
Very neat experience, and the food was very good. The portions were very generous. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
An interesting small town diner with great food and service.
I had breakfast there and it was great and very reasonably priced
First time coming here, the place looked amazing.
I loved the decor, and the service was alright. Ordered two burgers and some onion rings, the Onion rings were amazing! The burgers were huge and tasted great, fries were delicious. The inside could use a little cleaning, but besides that an 8/10! Loved this place, and it was definitely worth the drive for this amazing food. I would recommend
Good Burger of Buckeye Experience
We, two adults, ate late lunch on Saturday afternoon. There was a sign on the front entrance, said slow services due to short stuff. It was not crowded and a kind of slow service, but no problem at all for us. We ordered Mushroom Swiss Burger with Onion Rings, Woody Burger with Homemade Fries, and two soft drink. Both burger were good, especially Woody Burger had an interesting taste by horseradish bacon sauce. We paid about $40 including 30% of tips. We will be back there!
Great diner
The diner was perfect. Great food and the atmosphere was nostalgic. As a railfan, it was over the top.
Our party of 3 had not been there in years, 1 was a first
Our party of 3 had not been there in years, 1 was a first time visitor. First impression when getting out of the car was a feeling that the outside needed updated and refreshed. Going inside further showed a need for updating. Service when ordering went smooth, food arrived timely. Nice portions of food, friendly wait staff. Flies were an issue during our meal. A staff member's young child was annoyingly loud, playing around near the front entrance. Overall, I might consider another visit, only because of the good food and portions.

Thank you for the question, if a seller is working on answering your bid, you cannot cancel it until their time is up and the bid is released back to you. The full amount of funds then go back into your AT account. Typically a seller has 48-72 hours to complete the bid.
