In all my years of tripadvising I’ve never seen such divided reviews of an establishment! The truth lies somewhere in between. It’s not as terrible as many make out, but it’s nowhere near good enough to justify the prices charged. The atmosphere is buzzy. Service was attentive and friendly. There’s definitely a good vibe, albeit it would be better with fewer trust fund kids spending their evening instagramming their spaghetti. Most of the dishes we ordered were good enough. The cace e pepe pasta was good, veal pretty tasty. Salads were decent too. Contrary to other reviews, we found the tuna tartare and steak tartare underwhelming, and lacking seasoning or additional ingredients. The tuna looked rather like a lump of spam. Presentation is definitely not a strong point. There is little imagination about the menu. It’s heart, family style Italian good - unfortunately st Michelin star prices. The wine list is good albeit heavily marked up. We wouldn’t return as we there isn’t a good reason to do so. For fine Italian dining, head to Enoteca Turi. For basic Italian food, you will find a decent local trattoria in every corner of London that does this perfectly well at a third of the cost. And without the instagram narcissists cluttering the place up!
