Cafe Jacqueline San Francisco Reviews
Service was terrible.
The waiter was not friendly and not really nice. We had to wait over an hour for our soufflé and the Prices are a lot higher than what this shows. The French onion soup was $25. The main course soufflé's range from $60 to $75 and the dessert
Truly a special experience in every possible way.
From the moment we were warmly greeted by Matthew - longtime server and Chef Jacqueline's right hand for over 30 years - it felt like stepping into something rare and timeless. The dining room itself is small and intimate, perhaps a dozen tables

If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would.
Café Jacqueline is the most well-known "hidden gem" in San Francisco. Longtime locals may not have been, but they've definitely heard whispers about it. It's a tiny spot tucked away in North Beach that delivers one of the most un
It was an interesting experience.
The food is good, but really the only thing they serve is a sweet and savory soufflé now I was invited to come here for dinner and I was looking forward to French food. All they had was soufflé's. The waiter does not like his job has been ther

Definitely worth the visit.
We flew from Houston to celebrate an anniversary and it was worth every penny. great ambiance, Nice slow pace to have long conversation over a bottle of wine. The soufflé's were outstanding. Not only light and fluffy, but all the flavors
It may take a couple of hours, but the food is excellent.
The Grand Marinier soufflé alone is worth the time and price. A gem.
One of the best date spots in San Francisco.
Don't expect expect a quick meal, but do expect one that is meticulously prepared and with love. Get one savory and one sweet soufflé as well as a French onion soup (it's my favorite French onion soup in the city). Part of the charm is

Have been here once. The food is fun and tasty but the history of the place is what made it special. The place has a bit of an air about it which is fine and makes the atmosphere feel very old San Francisco. Again the food is fine… but the his
Unforgettable Dining - that hopefully you will experience once in your life.
All of the positive reviews should confirm this cafe’s uniqueness. Too many restaurants are noisy, service intrusive, too bright/too dark with inappropriate music. Cafe Jaqueline guests seem utterly engaged in conversation, the lighting is roman

This place is amazing.
The soufflés take awhile but it's definitely worth it. I was so sad when I thought they were closing during COVID. I can't wait to go back again.
Taste and experience pure magic.
You can't get more romantic and also San Franciscan than this. Order both a savory and sweet soufflé. Take time to go thank Jacqueline in the kitchen and see the mountain of eggs and feel the love put into this food. My wife said it was possibly the

Love this place! The soufflés are definitely worth the wait. Do not get turned off by some of the comments here regarding the serving staff. They're very San Francisco -- a little wry, a little snarky, and very friendly! They treated us like family.
Our waiter was a condescending smart ass and downright rude.
The waiter who would show up in his place occasionally was a hair better but he never smiled. Delicious Gruyère soufflé and chocolate soufflé. The cucumber salad was very tasty, too. If you can get past the rude waiters, you'll have a fine time. M
A must do.
I made a reservation months in advance with no issue. The two waiters working the dining area were attentive and personable. As for the soufflés, they were delicious. The pace of the meal was a little slow, but good food takes time. Café Jacquelin

It says this place is open, just walked over there, 6pm on a Saturday night and it's dark. What a shame. No hours of operation on the door & phone number does not work
Very unique experience.
Lovely setting and very quiet and nice. The service was great, they're very attentive, and the soufflés were wow. My favorite was the French onion soup. I would say, go prepared to be there 2.5 hours because the soufflés are made once you order the
