Nice staff, great food.
Quaint local restaurant! That is all the words we have. That's all.

We went for Sunday's chef choice, and every single dish was delicious. First course was many plates of dips and salads with fresh pita. Second course was half a chicken in pita. Final course was a milk pudding w/ poached pears. We ate absolutely everything. We want to try the regular menu on a non-Sunday, but the variety of the chef's choice meal will be difficult to miss. Highly impressive meal. Great service as well!

My wife and I had a reservation for 7:00 for dinner, and arrived and were seated at that time. I was ready to leave after 25 minutes of waiting for even our drink orders to be taken, but we were visited by a waitress in the nick of time. We did really enjoy the food, which was Hummus, Baba Ganoush, pita, cheese stuffed pita, and 2 mains.Overall, I think it was an off night service-wise, so I think we will try again!

D-licious!!! My fiancé found this place not too far from our home. It was surprising we had never been before considering how much we love Mediterranean cuisine.Get. The. Lamb. Hummus. Dear lord! I could have enjoyed that as my main and it's highly likely I will in the future. The lamb was so tender and melts in your mouth. I had the realization that although I could differentiate the meat from hummus in each bite, the lamb's texture nicely melded into the hummus. The aromatics of the spices are amazing! There are strong notes of cinnamon with a very subtle taste that doesn't overpower the lamb. The pita bread was more thin than others I've tried, which only means you can enjoy more! We asked for some type of veggie on the side that I could use for the hummus since I'm Celiac. At first they looked like basic carrots. They were sliced around 1/4" thick for dipping, zested with a citrus juice and topped with fennel. I will be making this at home now. It's hard to actually enjoy vegetables sometimes and this was a brilliant way to elevate them.We also got the beet appetizer. They were cooked perfectly. Not hard or crunch in the center and not mushy. I could have gone without the parsley garnish personally. My fiancé puts Italian Parsley on pretty much everything so he really enjoyed the beets with it topped.Main courses: I got the chicken and my fiancé got the beef skewers. The serving size was large with two skewers each. After apps I could only finish one skewer, which I was happy about because that means leftovers!! Both were seasoned perfectly. And the dipping sauces...the beef came with a tomato sauce flavor explosion - I could eat by the spoonful, on its own. And the chicken was served with an amazing garlic dipping sauce. I had to ask what it was made of because the texture was a little like butter (don't let that put you off). It's 4 simple ingredients most people have at home. It'll try making it and let you know how it compares. Will be going back, and we will be bringing people to enjoy this lovely meal with us. Do make reservations if you can. We didn't and were told there was a good chance we'd be seated if we came early. They open at 4:30 and we arrive between then and 5. There was only one other table seated. By the time we left there was a wait list.Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this delicious food for your next meal!!!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is overrated and over priced.
Food takes forever to come out and when you ask for gluten free substitutes you will be met with a massive up charge on your bill (see receipt). They told us NOTHING about the up charges. It was $7 for one carrot.... ONE CARROT.The food is okay but nothing to rave about and I'm confused with all the reviews. I found the front of the house was unprofessional. Date night was ruined.

I was thrilled to find another Lebanese restaurant in my area and went with a friend from out of town. My friend NEVER eats lamb, but was willing to try the spiced lamb in sizzling oil over hummus. He ate almost the ENTIRE thing and we both agreed we would be back soon. My only misgiving is I wish they had a full bar, but that's a small price to pay because the food is king here- among the other things we tried were the babaganoush and the labneh and beets, along with the piping hot pita. This is a great, sharable spot for vegetarians. Overall, such a delicious experience, and we will be sure to come back on a Sunday for Chef's choice.

Omg! The lamb hummus is the best thing ever! Such a cute little restaurant with amazing service and the owner always cooking. Try something new. You won't be disappointed. Loved the Lebanese wine.
Be the first to ReplyGood ambience and food tastes authentic.
Service was also decent. Received the main course first which was strange to us
Be the first to ReplySolid OK.
Heard so much about this place that I was expecting more! I liked Tanoor a lot more than this place. I'm a vegetarian, so I didn't taste the chicken that my husband seemed to absolutely love. The mezzes were mostly meh - the cauliflower wasn't fully cooked and was disappointing (I have no idea if that's how it's supposed to be), and the muhammara was cold. The hummus with roasted chickpeas was really good, but the pita bread was tough. Everything I ate here made me crave the food in Tanoor more, so I won't be back.
Be the first to ReplyLove it.
We get mezzes from here often and they are all so good. Great to go food as well. Hard to figure out what is on the menu since it not online.

Great Lebanese food! I especially enjoyed the hummus balila (hummus with crispy chickpeas) and arnabeet (grilled cauliflower) -- they are must orders if you choose to check this place out.

Pros: neighborhood gem, authentic food, good quality food, easy street parking Cons: small portions, limited selection (small food menu), need more powerful ventilation for the open kitchen.

This place is a hidden gem in Ballard! The crispy chickpeas in the hummus were amazing and labneh was also delicious. The lamb kofta was juicy and flavorful. They also have an expansive whisky & scotch selection. Will definitely be returning soon!
Be the first to ReplyCame here during Sunday for their special.
My friend with me is vegan. They were incredibly accomodating for his dietary restrictions. To note: They don't have a Sunday menu; It's all chef's choice.Came here for the chef's choice Sunday and the food was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend letting them decide what to eat. Don't worry either, it's going to be way more than enough food for you. I do recommend making reservations as I saw multiple parties get turned away. This place is incredibly popular and is a small space as well. Enjoy your meal here!
Be the first to ReplyWhatever they serve in that place is definitely not
Whatever they serve in that place is definitely not Lebanese and has none of the traditional lebanese flavors. Poor imitation is even too much credit.Unpleasant service, limited menu missing some of our most traditional mezze plates, needless to say, a total disappointment. The hummus tasted like mush, the beet salad with tahini like just beets soaked in water, the kebabs were dry and overcooked, Lebanese? Really?? I don't think so. The only Lebanese going on in that place was the music, and definitely not the best selection.

I've traveled extensively in the Mediterranean region and had high expectations for this restaurant based on reviews. Honestly? Disappointed. The meze dishes we ordered (listed here) lacked expected depth and flavor: baba ganoush, hummus, cauliflower, bread with cheese, lamb skewers, peppers with walnuts.... It was kinda bland. Not sure if it was an "off" night for the kitchen, but $70 to eat fairly pedestrian refrigerator dips and snacks? Sadly, we won't be coming back.

Drive here for dinner after having read about it on Eater's "48 essential restaurants in Seattle". Simple and casual ambience reminiscent of cafes in Lebanon etc, I assume. Had chanterelle hummus, babaganoush, flatbread sandwich, lentil rice and baklava. Across the board they were all very flavorful, with a decent serving size. What we found missing were some substantive vegetarian entrees (had their only lentil rice dish) and the beloved falafel. Recommend as a good casual eatery for some Mediterranean food.
Be the first to ReplyGreat cocktails and mezzes.
Ambiance is perfect for two on a date night. Menu not as broad as I would like but they deliver on what they make.
Be the first to ReplyI love those meals that change your life.
So delicious and perfect you can't stop thinking about it and reliving the tastes and textures. That is what happened last night to us at Cafe Munir. The company was fantastic and the drink was a wonderful pairing. Starting with the mezzes we had the hummus with lamb, cauliflower, beets with tahini, babaganoush, an amazing carrot dish accompanied by flat breads. We finished with meat kabobs and all types were perfect. The paired dips for the meat were great especially their house garlic spread - intense and amazing!Desserts of milk pudding and baklava finalized it all for us with a sweet dessert wine pairing. It was a meal of dreams and I can't wait to go back. The care that is put into every dish is obvious and is truly what dining should feel like. Wish I could take pictures but we dug in so quickly we forgot!
