Cafe Sauvage Boston Reviews from The Last Year
French Bistro Brunch
Very small place, but accommodating. Went for Brunch and they DO NOT take reservations but have a waiting list. Very good food choices - baked goods were great (especially croissants!). Had a variety of breakfast/brunch items that were all excellent. Expect to be crammed around your table - very Parisian. Service was fantastic. Recommend you go and try when in Boston.
A very nice “French” discovery
A very nice discovery! Delicious dishes, impeccable service, welcome in French and a friendly and cozy atmosphere! Don’t hesitate to come whether you are French or American!
Cute little French bistro
Cute little French restaurant in the Back Bay. Tables are crowded together and the atmosphere was quite lively on a Sunday night. We enjoyed the calamari appetizer, truffle fries and side of champignones. For entrees we had the mussels and roasted chicken with sweet potato gnocchi. The chicken was mostly breast so a little dry and the gnocchi was very sweet. The sauce with coconut was rich and tasty. Nice lemon cake to end the meal - like pound cake with lemon icing and whipped ream. Service was efficient.
Nothing to write home about
Let’s be clear they don’t serve any kind of French food instead you will get what some Americans think is French food. Where else than in the U.S. would you get a croque-madame with brioche drenched in lightly sweet creamy gooey? And the expresso is nothing like what you might expect in Paname. Basically this as much French as the tourist traps in the North End are Italian. On the other hand if you don’t go for the food it is a nice place to hang up with the French people of Boston once in a while.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
