Caffe Aldo Lamberti Merchantville Reviews from The Last Year
Mother's Day, and we find ourselves at the most elegant
Mother's Day, and we find ourselves at the most elegant restaurant in the region, Caffe Aldo Lamberti. Our favorite place for Saturday nights is also the restaurant we choose for any special celebration. Our birthdays, anniversary, of course, Valentine's Day, Easter and even an annual family gathering on December 26 each year. The location is very convenient, the dining rooms are just lovely, and the folks there will make you feel special on your very first visit, the service is exquisite ! Of course, fine dining means incredible food and that's what you will find here. In addition to their superb daily menu, there are daily specials, augmented even more for special days. It wouldn't feel like a celebration if we were at Caffe AldoLamberti.
I was there twice in one week.
First time, the food was delicious. Second time it was awful. I have dietary restrictions and need dishes without meat and dairy. During my first visit I was offered a risotto that was delicious. I returned for this dish but was only offered a plain pasta with a few veggies tossed in which was so bland I didn't finish it. This place needs consistency. Also, the valet parking is pretentious and adds to the cost of your visit. It's complimentary, but, of course, you have to tip. Service is excellent.
Are the scallops real or imitation
Purchased the same scallops but starting to wonder if their real scallops tasty as always but seem gelled 10$ each I purchased 5 didn’t want the entree today
Absolutely unreal dining experience.
Our waiter Marco went above and beyond to give us a great dinner. We had the Peruvian scallops as an appetizer, papardelle bolognese, and the swordfish catch of the day as our mains. The food was delicious and so fresh we can't wait to come back. Even has an accordion player stop by our table and play That's Amore while we dined. Such a nice touch. This is a must try in south Jersey!
Amazing food and service.
One of the best soft shell crabs ever! Drinks are well crafted and perfected. Warm and friendly greeting upon arrival.
My husband and I dined there last night and I must say how
My husband and I dined there last night and I must say how much we enjoyed it. The decor is beautiful and romantic and the food was positively delicious. My husband had the French onion soup and it was a huge bowl that he loved. He requested a simply prepared fish, and they accommodated him. I had the rigatoni à la Nona and that was lovely. A nice bottle of wine and a Caesar salad completed the meal. They had a really nice crowd, and while it's pricier than the average Italian restaurant, the difference is the quality and the service. We will definitely return.
My husband and I have been here on occasion.
We went out last night and our server was delightful. He informed us of the specials and such. We did order a bottle of wine and cocktails as well as appetizers. They came as described and were pretty underwhelming. He got the homemade ravioli which was shrimp with scallops. It was great to be honest. The sauce was amazing. I ordered a filet (mid rare) which came harshly overcooked. We decided to finish our meals and get desserts to go-cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake. We came home, not even 2 miles down the road, and tried the cheesecake. It was underwhelming and had a strawberry glaze which tasted like it was out of a jar. I will probably choose to go across the bridge to Philly next time.
Dinner was delicious and the ambience was great.
I enjoyed the Signature Crabcake. It was different from a Maryland crabcake but still good flavor. For the appetizer I enjoyed the octopus. The complimentary valet parking was very convenient and out waiter was amazing.
Absolutely love it here.
The crab cake is probably the best crab cake I've ever had! The beautiful garden! The service is always awesome everyone is so nice!
We have gone to Caffe Aldo Lamberti frequently in the past
We have gone to Caffe Aldo Lamberti frequently in the past and it is usually very good, but unfortunately it wasn't last night. It was my fiancée's birthday which I wrote and choose as an option when booking the reservation and they didn't mention it at all, which was disappointing. Our server, Tom, was the highlight of our dinner! He was so friendly and made funny jokes the whole time, he really made a positive impression on our experience! We started with their winter caprese salad. The tomatoes and burrata were extremely salty. Their bread basket and pizza bread were good as always. For entrees, we had the grouper catch of the day and the salmon. My salmon was farm raised and had no flavor. The leeks on top were the one thing that made the salmon have some sort of taste. My fiancée had the special grouper. He said the sauce was good, but again the fish didn't have much of a taste. Unfortunately it seemed like an off night for their food there and with their steep pricing you would expect better. I was also surprised that they began charging a 3% credit card fee as well here.
Good but not great.
.. Ordered the salmon with sautéed spinach. It was ok, nothing special. My husband ordered the veal Parm with a side of pasta. He had the same reaction, good but not great. I tried some of his pasta and it was watery and the sauce was tasteless. Ambiance - restaurant is beautiful, lovely space. Service was great, very attentive. The chocolate chip cake was the highlight of the meal.
Nice dinner - outside bar and patio was nice but LOUD (traffic)
Nice dinner. A bit pricey for what you get. We ate at the outside bar and it was such a nice evening to eat outdoors. Note: the outside patio is really nice BUT the noise from traffic right on Route 70 is really really loud. Heads up on that. Ryan our bartender was nice and very attentive. The home made bread served is sooo good. you will fill up on just that lol. They're known for their fish entrees. I ordered a raw tuna appetizer with pistachio crust as my main meal and it was soo soo good! My husband ordered the delicious Grouper ($42). They were accommodating on Gluten free requests too. The only suggestion I have for the owner of this restaurant is to ask the bartenders to place a nice dinner napkin at each person's place setting if they dine at the bar. It's just a nice touch and makes the dinner experience feel a bit more special.
Nice Building but all that glitters is not gold
While I left a review and received a call from George he said he would call me back and I still haven't received the call. My daughter graduated and we went there to eat, a nice private room however the food was marginal but staff besides the waiter and valet were bad. For what they charge I shouldn't have to ask for butter 3 times and only after the waiter said something did I receive the butter. The food was marginal and the one softshell crab for fifty bucks is crazy. I'm still waiting for a call back.
A fabulous, unparalleled food experience. All star!
As a party of 6, we all enjoyed a fabulous dinner 8 days ago at Caffe Aldo Lamberti (Cherry Hill). While it was my husband’s and my first visit, my brother and sister-in-law regard it as their favorite restaurant. I can see why, given our experience. Chef Cipriano Illiano made his rounds around the floor, enthusiastically promoting that night’s specials, making suggestions and graciously answering questions. Happily, the ambience and table arrangements allowed us to enjoy conversations and not overhear those of others nearby. We all ended up choosing a special for our entrée and dessert - though choosing was not easy. My husband’s large scallops were pan-seared to perfection. The delicate, fresh tomato sauce on his pasta was perfect. My spinach ravioli with an assortment of vegetables, tender large shrimp and that marvelous tomato sauce was spectacular. Our party enjoyed a medley of desserts – key lime, crème brulee, an orange filled with a delicate sorbet and more. I don’t think I’ve ever left a restaurant feeling as satisfied and delighted by a dining experience. We will be back.
Mortified
Not good -bartender extremely condescending and rude. I wish I could take my tip back Shame on you Terrible experience
