Stunning food, service and ambiance.
Highly recommend for a celebration or business dinner. The servers present the dishes and provide a description of each.

We had such an incredible time during my first visit to Canoe! The restaurant not only offers the best view in Downtown Toronto, and the ambiance was absolutely stunning. I highly recommend going there with someone you love. We decided to try the Taste Canoe menu, every dish was beyond fantastic. The presentation was top-notch, and the flavors were incredibly tasty. If I had to choose a favorite, it would definitely be the Onion + Caviar. The chef used real onions, and it was simply amazing. You have to try it! Make sure to make a reservation in advance and request a window seat. It's the perfect spot to celebrate any occasion. Complimentary Parking after 5:30PM
Be the first to ReplyExtremely poor value and lacklustre service.
You get tiny portions and the price is ridiculous. They couldn't even provide any desert for food intolerance. Way overhyped.
Be the first to ReplyFirst off, the view is spectacular and worth going here
First off, the view is spectacular and worth going here regardless. The drinks are very solid, I got a Jack Daniels and Coke and it had a very generous pour of Jack Daniels. My first course was their take on a chicken wing. The dish was creative and super flavorful, although it could've been bigger. I then got the lamb saddle with the side of pasta. The lamb was super tender and perfectly cooked. The creamed kale was phenomenal, especially since I would usually never eat that. The pasta was cooked perfectly, but nothing to write home about. The service was very good. They do a fantastic job explaining exactly what your dish is when they present it. Overall, it's a bit pricey for the portions, but when you factor in the view and everything, it's worth it.
Be the first to ReplyHands down one of the best dinner experiences.
Had the tasting menu, worth more than the $180. The service was spot on, the views were amazing. I asked to be seated on the kitchen bar - absolutely elevated the experience one thousand fold. Felt as if we were amidst a well orchestrated orchestra of chefs, trying from every corners of the chefs imagination.

Tried the Canoe tasting menu and I must say, they do not disappoint. The tasting menu consist of: smoked oyster (charred game, puffed rice) + nori grissini (foie gras) pumpkin soup (butternut velouté, sweet potato, anise) chicken wing (sunchoke, truffle, Albufera, ziti pasta, morels) lingcod (scallop, celeriac, charcoal, Champagne cream) 54-hour short rib (cheek pastrami, sweetbreads, caramelized mushroom, Café de Paris butter) chanterelle (birch syrup, sea buckhorn) pear dessert (sortilège, hazelnuts, sumac) petit four My favourite dish would have to be the chicken wings. The sunchoke made the dish slightly sweet and made the dish sweet and savoury. Everything tasted delicious and although not everything was to my taste, I still recommend giving this place a try as the chefs definitely put in the time and effort in these dishes.

Canoe on the 54th floor of the Toronto-Dominion Centre is a true culinary masterpiece. From the stunning skyline views to the impeccable service, every detail is perfection. The Bison Tartare was a delight, with roasted bison, charred spring onion, pickled ramps, and a heavenly foie gras parfait. The Surf + Turf, featuring Atlantic lobster and aged Albertan filet, was a symphony of flavors, enhanced by lardo, chanterelle, and spruce tip butter. The Canadian opera cake for dessert was a sweet revelation, blending chaga, birch syrup, and sea lettuce into a delicious finale!

George and Michael both made for a truly magical evening for us. The food and wine selections were on point. Ingredients, presentation, flavours were all on point. A truly memorable dining experience!!

Food was okay but every dish was plated beautifully. Surprisingly the highlight from our dinner was actually the desserts. Service was also very good and the view was pretty nice was well.

The food is always top notch with fresh ingredients and creative ideas It's ideal for an elevated lunch or special event dinner The service is always tentative & you just can't say no to good food AND a great city view Try your best to book a window seat and thank me layer :)
Be the first to ReplyFood flavor, venue and service outstanding.
Love high up city view restaurants. Very unique concoctions and everything was delicious. Got the "Ontario Pork Jowel" wife got the halibut. Serious one star penalty for the almost pretentiously SMALL PORTIONS. Do NOT order wine by the glass- you get a big shiny glass goblet with a thin film of wine at the bottom (?!) Cheapskates. Prices high but not over-the-top. Caution- Even after five courses you may leave hungry....
Be the first to ReplyThe menu is no longer as creative as it was once was.
Execution is also mediocre. My pork crackling was too fatty and my mom's steak was too chewy.Seafood appetizers were fresh and tasty but you could have as much variety and quality for half the price in many restaurants.Nice service and still one of the best views for dining in Toronto.
Be the first to ReplyMy colleague found this restaurant and we wanted to enjoy
My colleague found this restaurant and we wanted to enjoy after a successful year and busy client meetings day. So we decided to come to Canoe. The spot is beautiful! The views, wow! Nestled on the 54th floor of a typical office building and overlooking Toronto with the CN tower right next door. The restaurant itself is certainly a spot to visit. The service was spot on. The chef and team were able to accommodate our changes to the menu (with me no pork and others at my group). They were gracious with our requests. Especially we all ordered the pre-fixe menu with multiple courses. Let's start off -- Atlantic oyster: hmm this was a shock, sure it arrived ON an oyster shell however the taste. Nothing of oyster flavor. It was a puff pastry. Bizarre, we were all a little stomped of this course - basically to start off, not exactly on the right food - venison tartare - very small portion only about two spoons, doesn't really taste like anything much I have ever had. Also had this odd tasting soup on the right. Too hearty to be beef tartare and too flavorless to be tuna tartare, this was different but not for a good thing, but glad I got to try it! Will likely not opt to have this again by choice - finally my fav (I opted out of the bacon/pork) so the chef made me an onion soup inside an onion! wow! Loved it! This was the most tasteful onion soup/consommé I have ever tasted! I wish I can learn to make it! - lobster tail - good, wrapped in a crispy kale on top of lobster cream - filet - loved how this filet was cooked! Very tender with foie gras parfait and a scope of mashed spinach. Enjoyed this dish! - followed by desserts and tarragon ice cream (tarragon had pop rocks, which I was surprised to feel it popping in my mouth) Overall for the views and service, completely worth it. The food, some choices were questionable however others hit the mark!

On the 54th Floor, the views are nothing short of spectacular. Attending a wedding reception, this is the first time we were at this venue and the staff did a good job of moving us through the bar area before seating us at our tables .The appetizers were very good, inuding chicken on a skewer, radicchio in a tempura like batter, and an antipasto shared plate. The mains included a flat iron tartare and Albertan fillet (menu attached) which was very good. Afterwards the dance floor was terrific, but we found that when we got up a few times the tables were cleared quickly without us finishing the food lol i know they need to turn iver but msybe slow down a bit or ask those around if finished Otherwise, a great venue for the wedding and Im sure the couple enjoyed immensely. -Zuk
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful restaurant with several distinct spaces.
Large floor to ceiling windows line the entire restaurant with views of downtown Toronto. Came to celebrate family anniversary and they left us a cute placeholder card to celebrate. Although we sat next to the kitchen, it was cool to see everyone in action. Appetizer portions are very small but delicious. The mains are much more substantial. Flavors are very complex but not overwhelming.

This place had a beautiful interior and an amazing view of the city. We shared the elk leg tartare for appetizer. He got the crispy pork jowl and I got the roast partridge. We also got the earl grey + citrus to share for dessert. Here are my thoughts on each of the dishes:- elk leg tartare: was probably the highlight of the meal. The meat had great texture and was flavorful. The squash purée was a great addition.- crispy pork jowl: I thought this course was quite well done. The jowl was very crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. (I'm personally not the biggest fan of fatty meats but this is definitely a good dish) - roast partridge: this was good but nothing special. The butter milk thigh was amazing but a very small portion. The rest of the partridge tasted like a very generic roast chicken. There were no unique elements to justify the price.- earl grey + citrus: really enjoyed this dish. The outside of the dessert is a smooth earl grey and citrus flavored cream. The light cream was a great balance to the sweet chocolate cake in the middle.Overall I would come here for drinks just for the view. However the food was not worth the hefty price you have to pay. If I did not have a gift card to this place, it's unlikely I will return to dine here.

A truly excellent meal - the tasting menu is a must if you're so inclined. Located on the 54th floor of a downtown Toronto skyscraper, the view and the food are hard to beat.Cocktails are very well done here and the family went for the tasting menu. Most definitely a great choice. The oyster cooked in squid ink was perfectly cooked and was a great way to start. Roasted scallop was also cooked to perfection and had a nice crispy crust. Crab porridge was by far my favorite - briny and livery from the foie but balanced perfectly with tart apple. Trout and steak courses were also very good. Dessert courses were also excellent. The spiced parsnip was reminiscent of apple pie but the pumpkin custard and winter squash was hands down the best bite of the night - spiced cake that balanced out with a delectable pumpkin custard. Petit fours were a nice way to end the meal.Service here is beyond super. Our server Fred was funny, engaging, accommodating and made our night special. Prices are what you expect from one of the finest restaurants in Toronto but well worth it (and a pretty decent value if you're comparing it to NYC tasting menus along with the conversion rate). Highly recommended if you're looking to try some of the best food in Toronto. Thumbs up.
Be the first to ReplyMy friends and I came to Canoe before the Raptors game.
Restaurant opens at 5pm for dinner and so we booked our table for 5pm. Once you are there, it becomes first come first serve and I was happy we arrived early as we got the tables along the windows to enjoy the night view. It wasn't a good idea to eat at the restaurant before a game as it was a rush for us! Canoe is a really nice , fancy restaurant where you can spend more time enjoying the view while having dinner and enjoy your wine . The waiter was amazing as we told them we were on a tight schedule. He told us if we ordered right away, the food would be at our table and we would be ok for time. I ordered the onion soup $19 and also the Crispy pork jowl $54. Most of the item seem to be seafood related , salmon, fillet, halibut and lobster. I am allergic to fish, so I felt like I didn't have too as much choices as I would like, but it was still ok. The food came pretty quickly and the onion soup was so cute as it came in an onion bowl, they also had a refill for it. The roast loin was super crispy and tasted great. My partner had the surf and turf $96 and bluefin Tuna Tartare $29, both were amazing . Customer service was great, atmosphere was nice. And we made it to the Raptors game on time. Amazing night ! Will definitely come back again and enjoy in a slower pace itinerary.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for dinner and my partner and I got the tasting
Came here for dinner and my partner and I got the tasting menu! Everything was well-crafted and we were wondering why this place isn't Michelin-rated. From the intricate presentation to the flavor and texture combos, we enjoyed our dinner very much and left with full stomachs. My favorite dishes were the oyster and crab porridge. Both had flavors and textures I've never experienced before and the words that popped into my head after eating both were "umami bomb." The most disappointing dish for my partner and me was probably the dry aged ribeye because it was so highly talked about by our waiter and a couple sitting next to us, but it tasted just fine and the lobster was ironically the star of the dish to me. Really can't complain and truly enjoyed the food and overall experience. Service and ambience were both great as well and the view from the 54th floor made me feel like I was on the top of the world!
Be the first to ReplyWowweee.
..what a place! I came here for a work holiday lunch, and it was spectacular!I only wish I'd snapped a picture of the incredible view that I enjoyed while dining here. I was looking out at the downtown buildings, lake Ontario and Billy Bishop airport. I can only imagine what the night time views would be like...I had the steak frites, and it was cooked beautifully. My colleagues had the salmon and the halibut, and I was immediately jealous that I couldn't try everything because it all looked scrumptious! The service was fantastic - they had a wine sommelier when we went and he suggested probably the nicest white wine I have ever had - I didn't make a face after taking a sip! Haha. This place was a gem - I hope I can make it back here one day!
Be the first to ReplyMy family has dined at high end, fine dining establishments
My family has dined at high end, fine dining establishments throughout the world. Canoe falls miserably short. The good news is that the food is good. Not great but solid. The bad news is that service was lacking and even laughable at times. We watched as the wrong food was brought to the wrong tables on numerous occasions, including ours. One of us was asked if we wanted another drink but not both of us even though we both had empty glasses. We were celebrating my wife's birthday tonight. There was absolutely no acknowledgement of it by our server. Ever. The table had a cheap pre-printed "Happy Birthday" placard on it. There was no amuse bouche. No petit fours after dinner. NO attempt at celebrating my wife's birthday. I'm happy to spend $500 USD on dinner but it will never be here again. Sad state of affairs at Canoe. Mediocre experience at best. And, your view doesn't make up for your shortcomings this evening.

Food was phenomenal. Service was excellent and the view was breath taking. We did the taste canoe menu and was there for 3 hours. There is no rushing perfection. Perfect place for a proposal. Get ready for some romance!

I have been there twice and love it! It's beautiful, elegant, cozy and super friendly staff. The food is delicious and service is superb! Though I wish pricing is a bit less. But overall - I recommend this place for that special event or moment in your life. :-)#latepost
Be the first to ReplyCame here for an anniversary dinner and had the 9 course
Came here for an anniversary dinner and had the 9 course tasting menu with the wine parings. It was pricy at around $600 for 2 but would have been around $350ish without the wine parings (I think). The view while eating was amazing, but when it got dark all I could really see was the lights from inside reflecting in the window. Each dish was brought out and explained in great detail, most of our menu was seafood so take a look before you go if there are certain things you don't like to eat. They do take allergies into consideration as long as you tell them ahead of time. In addition to the food, each of our wine parings was explained as well in great detail and we had a paring for all but our first course. The courses were broken out into 3 that were more like apps, 3 that represented more of a small version of a main meal and 3 that were a bit sweeter so I put them as a dessert category with the last one being the most dessert like. Overall it was a very nice time and I would come back to try their a la cart menu or for a special occasion.
