We chose this as our dinner spot for our NYC day trip and we were not disappointed! The ambiance in here is wonderful. The lighting is cozy and dim, there are many framed photos on the walls, and the fake plants help to set the mood. Service was incredible and attentive-- we got there just after they opened. The food was excellent as well, + Oreo cannoli was delicious, and the plate decorations were a nice touch. All in all great place!

Solid pizza in a cute spot hidden underneath the bridges of the Porth Authority Bus Terminal. Weird when you walk up to it, but you feel good once you're inside. The pizzas are truly great for the neighborhood, they are not the best pizza in NYC - but you can show up after a show for a pizza here and not have to line up at Razza or Lucali's which is way harder. The waitstaff is nice and accommodating. I think this is the place to drop by, get a pie, get a caesar salad, drink some chianti, and go to a show.

Stopped in for dinner before a show and would definitely come back. Really cozy decor inside, and my one caution would be that it was VERY hot inside on this winter evening. We started with the pane and olio, which was good but not worth the $10, so I'd recommend avoiding that. We split margherita and eggplant parm pizzas and really enjoyed those. The Margherita was a little undercooked and the dough was very chewy, but the crisp on the eggplant parm pizza was perfect and absolutely delicious! For dessert, we split the Oreo truffle cannoli which was great. I'll give benefit of the doubt that the pizza is more often cooked like the eggplant parm and not the chewy margherita and rate 5 stars since that is definitely the potential of this place!

The service is terrific and the restaurant is a throwback to 1960. Unfortunately the pizza is just ok. Not a spot I would be going out of the way for. The owner says that he wants his food to be just like his Nonna's. My only conclusion is his Nonna wasn't a terrific cook or she would be disappointed with the food at Capizzi.

had the best pepperoni and hot honey pizza of my entire life here. it was so good that i went two nights in a row, back to back!!! cute hidden little spot, good attentive waitstaff and very laid back vibes. GET THE HOT HONEY PEPPERONI PIZZA!!!! trust me!

So pizza bread I have had better. Canned mushrooms and artichoke small place brick oven pizza but the dough makes the pizza so let's focus on that ppl.
Be the first to ReplyCool, old school coal fired pizza joint.
The menu is small, but still covers a lot of options - salad, pizza, wine, etc... The place is small so be prepared to wait a bit. We waited about 20 minutes. They updated us several times on how long the wait would be. Once seated we opted for an artichoke salad, a sausage and onion pizza plus a spinach special pizza. Everything was delicious and the service was great as well.

Found this cozy little spot for a quick dinner before a show in the area. Restaurant is a little tight, good for dates or smaller groups. We ordered two pizzas, a white (Truffle Funghi) and red. Personally a fan of truffle AND mushroom so the white was perfect for me! Crust tasted great dipped in some olive oil. Excited to come back to try some of their other specials.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Pizza and really nice atmosphere.
Tried 2 of the classic pizzas #1. Capizzi's Pepperoni, Portobello Mushrooms and Onions Combination Pizza #2. Capizzi's Sausage, Sweet Roasted Peppers and Onions Combination Pizza. Loved it.

This place is super cute and often has lines outside on the weekend! I was able to order some takeout and the staff was kind enough to give us water and seat us while we waited for it. We ordered the Arancini Spinaci and the Hot Honey Pizza. The Arancini Spinaci was delicious and paired well with the sauce it came with. I would definitely get it again. The pizza's are all personal sized and is a bit more on the pricey side. I would rate it a 8/10, the crust was soft and not too crispy and the honey paired well with the pepperoni. I wish it had a bit more sauce. I would definitely go back to try some more pizzas.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is in a very random, but helpful, location.
Despite being tucked under the overpass connecting to Port Authority, Capizzi has a cozy and casually elegant interior. The food is also delicious, particularly the hot honey pizza! This is my go-to Times Square eatery now!

UPDATE: To add insult to injury, these clowns have allowed themselves to steal money from me! I just checked my credit card statement, and discovered the restaurant has decided to charge a higher tip amount than what I have given them. I guess they assumed most people don't check their credit card statements ... well I do!I'm therefore updating my rating of this establishment to 1 star.-----------------------------------------------------------------------If it were just for the food, I'd rate this place 3.5 stars. But the attitude of the staff was ... wow, that waiter must have been the world gaslighting champion. We made a reservation and arrived at the restaurant at 7pm sharp. I told the waiter I have a reservation and ... the guy stared at me in disbelief, doubting my every word. Dunno what was so surprising, people often make reservations at restaurants, right? The waiter acted like he was doing me a special favor, went back to the kitchen to double check, and said ... drumroll ... no reservation for you. He asked me how I made the reservation, I said over the phone. "Over the phone?", the guy asked, still in disbelief. I confirmed. I pulled out my phone to show him the call to the restaurant in the list of recent calls. It gets better from here, trust me. He stared at my phone, and asked "You made a reservation 42 minutes ago?" Yeah, that's what my phone shows, and I trust it to measure the time correctly. And then the million dollar question came: "Really?" I was at a complete loss of words. Well yeah, I had a witness to this call. And the witness was with me.At this point the waiter has succeeded in making me question my sanity (World Gaslighting Champion, remember?) He retreated back to the kitchen again ... and, surprise surprise, they suddenly found my reservation! A brief apology followed ... like a very brief one. The waiter asked us to wait outside (yes, in the cold February evening in New York), and promised to come outside and get us in within 5 minutes.Five minutes passed ... Ten ... Fifteen ... After seventeen minutes a royal gesture comes, from the cozy warmth of the restaurant, waving us in. Like, thou shalt enter now.The food was edible, not on par with the reviews, but ok. But thinking that we got the food with free entertainment included, maybe it wasn't a bad deal after all

Family run. Waitress was friendly and prompt.

Wonderful small Italian restaurant, wood fired pizza was wonderful and hands down the best cannoli I've ever had.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a cute place with ambiance and nice staff.
The trouble is the food just wasn't that great. I ordered the Loaded pizza and the Arugula salad to split with my husband. My pizza was soggy and small. $25 for a 12 inch pizza that I would not really called "loaded". I ordered it without mushrooms but still got the mushrooms. Our waitress said she would bring parm and red pepper but never did. I appreciate that the restaurant makes their food from scratch, however the pizza sauce lacked flavor and depth. We left there and went to a bar afterwards where we ordered something additional to eat because we were actually still a little hungry. The bathroom needs to be updated and maintained. The sink and the toilet are both very old and the sink is very dirty. The floor and toilet had urine on it from a man before who also left the seat up. Pretty gross thing for women who go in next. If you are going to have a single genderless bathroom, it needs to be maintained constantly. I visited a lot of restaurants, bars, coffee shops etc during my stay and this was probably the worst bathroom.

We went here after seeing Phantom of the Opera and it was right around the corner from our hotel.Really excellent wood fired pizza's! We had a cheese and pepperoni and a margarita. Crispy crust - but not blackened like so many other places doing wood fired pizza's (should not be black!) Quality cheese and toppings, and the sauce was excellent - not too sweet not too savery.Three of us crushed those two pizzas and I've been thinking about them ever since. A tiny place but an excellent find - highly recommend you try it out!

Fantastic pizza and really great service that was both attentive and helpful. These are kind of old school New York pies. If you're in the neighborhood looking for solid new York pizza, def stop in. Very close to port authority and Penn Station

After looking for a pizza place near our hotel and reading all the great reviews, we came here after a show on Saturday night, and WOW, were we happy that we did. The space itself is cozy and welcoming, the staff is super friendly, and the food was delicious. My daughter said it was the best pizza she ever had. Highly recommend!

The most amazing food!! I got a white pizza and it was the best white pizza I have ever had, and I'm from New Jersey so that's saying something. The atmosphere was so beautiful. I will say it's small but if you make a reservation you're good. Our waitress was the best and she was so nice. Our food came out fast and the homemade sangria was 10/10. I am definitely coming back to this place!
Be the first to ReplyRude staff.
We went last night to meet some friends who were already dining there. The waiter was hesitant to sit us together so I told him whatever is easiest, we're ok with doing. The place was pretty empty, not sure what the issue was. He then proceeds to tell me that for a party 6 or larger the tip is included in the bill. Mind you this is before we're even seated. We all walked out. Obvious the waiter was not in the mood to serve us anything that night.

Went there with a friend that wanted some good Italian food because we got that place recommended and it didn't disappoint.I had the Margherita pizza and added olives, artichokes and mushrooms. Especially the mushrooms tasted very fresh and they seem to use very fresh ingredients. The pizza tasted very good.Highly recommended if you are looking for a authentic, tasty and nicely run small Italian restaurant.

I cannot believe that it took me 8 months living 2 streets down to find this amazing restaurant! They have a brick oven inside serving my favorite wood fired pizza. The flavor of the sauces, the ingredients, and overall crisp of the pizza was great. I prefer my pizza extra well done for that added crisp, but this place is a hidden gem next to port authority. If you have been looking for a great pizza spot in midtown/hell's kitchen, you HAVE to visit Capizzi!Rating: 8.9/10
