Casa Urola Donostia Reviews from The Last Year
The best pintxos! Walk in accepted.
The best pintxos! Amazing flavours. Couldn’t stop ordering more… Tried all the specialities, beef, white asparges, scallops, artichoke, plate of cured ham, mushroom pinions, ham croquettes, We did a walk in and got seated at the bar. Great selection of wines on glass.
Not good. Would not recommend
I am surprised of the reviews. I have been out for a while doing reviews but decided to start again after this experience. The attention and people there where extraordinary. The chef/cook needs to taste his/her food. Oyster from France were awful. Spain GM has great oysters, please get some from your own country. The seasonal oyster appetizer was the worst I have ever had. The fish cheeks were salty and tasteless and very fishy. Old for sure the same as the oysters. I buy them fresh from my local fish store. So I know what they should taste. I had the tenderloin, small and tasteless. Wine was very good. Dessert was also very good. See for yourself. !!
A beautiful experience
I don't write many reviews, but for how I ate in this restaurant it was absolutely worth it: truly excellent cuisine (particularly the cheeks) and the quality of the raw materials truly of the highest level. It's really worth it!
Must try
Amazing food Place is very busy like most good places there but definitely worth the wait. Try white asparagus, artichoke and scallops.
Excellent
Delicious both tapas we ate, the seasonal artichokes and scallops this last special mention, next time we will book to eat at the restaurant.
Lights and shadows
Small, charming dining room with perfect acoustics, cotton tablecloths and napkins, and pretty glassware. The first courses were very good and very beautifully presented, the anchovies a bit salty. The foie, perfect. Very delicious bread. The two hakes in green sauce were bland and with a sauce that was too liquid, the monkfish good and the battered hake also, the roasted apple good. The service was a bit slow and pleasant except for the manager who did not show any empathy.
Poor
Inattentive staff and poor service characterised our evening. Despite not having many tables of dinners we were not given much attention. The wine list arrived long before the food list, which was just that; a list of items, mainly fish, with no description of how they were cooked or served. Unfortunately we don't speak Spanish and the waitress's description of the items was poor so hard to make a choice based on that. The food was ok but not very exciting.
Tasty pintxos
A great place to have some pintxos. Tasty. I thought the cod casserole with garlic ajoarriero was spectacular. Can't be missed on the tapas route
One of the best
Out of the gazillion choices of pinchos bars in the old town, this was one of the best. Some different choices to the norm but all delicious.
recommendable
A typical Basque cuisine restaurant in the old town, with very good raw materials and good preparation. The waiters were very attentive, to say the least, they were a little slow since we were in a bit of a hurry because it was Sunday.

I have some reservations coming up tomorrow that have gotten lots of views but haven’t sold yet. I haven’t made a sale yet since I just joined this week. I keep lowering the price, but am worried they won’t sell. How long did it take you to sell your first reservations? And did you have success being reimbursed by AT for no-show or cancellation fees? Just looking for a little reassurance. Thanks!

You should probably cancel prior to the cancellation date per the cancellation policy. I would imagine you would only get reimbursed for a sold listing if you happen to be charged?

My first sale took about a week. But as the other commenter said stay ontop of your cancellation windows. There’s no reimbursement for those so make sure you cancel in time then just try again.
