Landmark restaurant Place de la Madeleine
Russian themed upscale restaurant with a wide choice of caviars of course. Excellent service. My smoked eel main quite good and an excellent fruit dessert with the rare small and tasty fraise des bois.

A great place to have caviar, champagne and treat yourself to a ultra luxury experience. The service is top notch as is the menu.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and caviar with disappointing service.
The reason I only gave 3 stars was the service. The food was very good. We had the celebrated baked potatoes with Ossetra caviar and the smoked salmon and sturgeon. Be aware that the prices are high because of the caviar. The service however, was terrible. The waiter kept coming by to get our food order before we even started our drinks, too rushed. Then they never came again to check on our table until we asked for them. At the end of the meal I had to ask for the dessert menu, it was never offered.
Be the first to ReplyStill an amazing and great
Still an amazing and great restaurant but quality in service and in the kitchen wasn’t on par to previous visits. I speak excellent French so nothing was lost in translation, fyi… they no longer make individual blinis (they actually do still make the large ones but the didn’t tell us, only over heard this option at the end of the night) instead they “cheat” and bake an entire sheet tray and then cut roundelles with a cutter. That’s fine but damnit, at this price don’t cut “corners” and only serve round ones! Half of ours looked like remnants from the garbage…. The caviar and Krug was excellent, the water forgot our haricots verts (green beans). On our way out I wanted to buy and send a limoge serving egg home but they said they couldn’t do that because it would get stolen in the process but I could purchase it and send it hole Myself. This made no sense at all and I just viewed it as being lazy.

When in Paris but in need some fine caviar, go Kaspia.
Old Paris atmosphere, caviar only menu, excellent staff. Posh but in the good, old, respectful way. We had the classic caviar on hot potato dish and a nice crab salad.
Great place for an unforgettable romantic dine out in Paris but also good for a friendly business dinner.
Waiter Needed A Better Attitude!
Dined here with a globally known Parisian shoe designer and friends.
Dinner and cosy atmosphere was exceptional and could not be faulted, at all.
Our waiter (40 something, short with dark hair) however, left ALOT to be desired and had the poorest bedside manner ever experienced, in any restaurant anywhere in the world that I have been to. So much so, I am compelled to write about it, since it ruined what would have been an otherwise perfect evening.
I asked for a Kir Royale and was sniffily asked what 'type I wished to have?' - to which I responded 'Well, how many ways can I have the only one universal version of a Kir Royale' to which he sternly responded 'THERE ARE MANY VERSIONS - You can have it with Peach Liqueur, Raspberry Liqueur etc, which would you like?'. I repeated my request and stopped short of giving HIM the lesson by saying calmly 'there is only one version of a Kir Royale and that is with Creme de Cassis and Champagne, kindly ask the bartender to make me a traditional Kir Royale'.
Now, I would like to say to the management: First - If your waiters are going to be snooty, please do educate them on getting their facts right. Second - I am a certified Sommelier for over 20 years, the scene could have quickly escalated, and in such a small space, your staff member would have looked ridiculous in front of all the other diners, if I had to educate him. I chose not to do that, and I will visit your establishment again, because of the excellent food, but next time I very much hope you have staff that know what they are talking about, so that I do not have to match their arrogance!
