I wouldn't go bottomless anywhere else
Just wonderful. The bottomless mimosa fruit juice flight was a fun touch. Our wait staff was attentive and kind. Hashbrowns are a must but what was a fun surprise of excellence was the merguez migas. A WOW and will order again...Price wasn't cheap but I totally felt like I got my money's worth :)
Be the first to ReplyBest French Bread and Croissant on UES
Newly opened patisserie that serves great food and has the best French bread, sandwiches and croissants on the upper east side. The cakes and other patisserie look amazing and will try them soon. Currently obscured by construction and sits next to JG Melon on 74th St. Beats the local competitor of Breads Bakery IMO.
Be the first to ReplyCozy place for brunch coffee or desert.
Everything was great. The food the service and the prices. Only five small tables in front. I recommend it without second thought.
Be the first to ReplyGreat coffee, amazing hot chocolate must try the macaroons!!!
Stumbled across Chanson while walking around NYC with my family. What a gem!!! Hubby said it was the best coffee he had in NYC and the hot chocolate was amazing!!!! Must try the macaroons.
Be the first to ReplyBest almond croissant
The almond croissants are so amazingly delicious here!!! So flaky buttery and full of almond past and almonds on top. Perfect sweetness and crispiness. Sooooo good. Bought four on a special and had to ration them to make them last!! Also sampled the kouign amann - also delicious. Would have bought more but they sell out too fast!
Be the first to ReplyNice location, calm and quiet
I had lunch with a friend and then waited alone for an hour to meet another friend for coffee. They had no problem letting me stay at my table and wait. Very accommodating. The food was good, the coffee really good!

Much fun and informative class for the beginner or experienced baker! The results were delicious! Ana was a fabulous teacher very patient and knowledgeable. We learned a lot! The class was the highlight of our trip to NYC.
Be the first to ReplyBrunch
For all the fuss about the pastry we were surprised how limited the options were. But what they did have was beautiful and delicious . We had a lovely brunch followed by a sweet treat. The blooming tea is pretty spectacular and definitely something different.. Service was a bit patchy though.
Be the first to ReplyGreat coffee in New York!
Coffee is really nice and place is so cosy. We went there different times and really liked it. The attention was always nice. I recommend to try it!

Had a great experience for breakfast = food and service👍 Will be visiting again on my next trip in a few months
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed all around
We made 2 visits to Patisserie Chanson during a recent stay in New York. The first visit was for breakfast at the upstairs patisserie. We tried the plain and dulce de leche kouign amann, a chocolate croissant, a laminated brioche roll, and a few other items. I am a huge fan of kouign amann and we specifically came here because we know they sell them. The kouign amann were not at all what they should be. They had the carmelized sugary texture that they should have, but they were so dense!! They were more like a carmelized brioche than a kouign amann. Very disappointed in that aspect. I realize Kouign amann are difficult to master, but these would rate about a C. The rest of the items that we ordered were just average. There really wasn't anything to rave about. And for $50, it was way too expensive for the quality of the baked goods.
We returned again the same evening for the Dessert Bar. We did the Dessert Bar once before, shortly after they began the Dessert Bar, and it was fantastic. Our experience this time was very different;
With the exception of the young man who greeted us and seated us, the rest of the staff seemed very disengaged and like they just wanted to get done and get out. There wasn't nearly the level of showmanship with the desserts that we experienced on our first trip. There were active components to the desserts, but they just missed the mark. The desserts felt very robotic and rushed instead of innovative and fun like they used to.
The desserts themselves dropped a notch as well. The portions were noticeably smaller, and not quite as imaginative as before. They were mostly tasty, but certainly not the caliber that they used to be.
In addition, the Dessert Bar no longer serves a la carte cocktails, which was very disappointing. We ordered the wine/cocktail pairing with our desserts, and it was a total let down. Before, the pairings had innovative cocktails. This time, we got mostly wines. They were ok, but not worth the extra $60. They didn't enhance the experience in any way.
All in all, we were very upset with our evening here. We spent over $400, and just weren't wowed. We realize how labor intensive the old experience was, but if they are going to tone down the experience, then they should also drop the price to match. And the elimination of the cocktails is just a bad sign for the Dessert Bar in general. It feels as if the Dessert Bar is just losing its motivation.
Especially like the airy, self-seating here
This is in a popular part of town near the Flatiron district and 23rd Street. It is a handy spot to relax after shopping a few doors away at Home Depot or Eataly Market
Most of my good rating is for the space being so bright and airy. You order at the counter and you pick a table to sit down at.
The dessert bar and the life beyond
Overall an amazing experience. Most of the desserts are very original and well thought, yet there were one or two that although very delicious felt like you can get them at the chanson bakery up the stairs.
The theatricality and presentation are right on point, adding both flavor and experience value.
Service is fantastic and very attentive yet at times a little too much.
I am already inlove with the Chanson Bakery and their high tea and brunch but was definitely a whole new level.
It is a must experience for every New Yorker and tourist.
Dessert Bar - Sexy
We decided to check out the Dessert Bar on the basement level of Patisserie Chanson where a Dessert cocktail pairing is offered.
From the moment we walked into the bar we where greeted by a VERY enthusiastic host, who with light humor an impeccable hospitality made us feel at ease.
Once there we realized the experience is VERY immersive, it almost requires level of concentration and attention that we frankly were not up to. The desserts are crafted right in front of you, by assembling ingredients and components that have been previously prepared; each dessert is served with an amazing paired cocktail or spirit. The staff will thoroughly describe what is in front of you - often in a memorized way that feels a bit robotic but achieves the informative aspect is set out to provide.
One comment we will make is the service feel rushed. We honestly lost count of the courses, but would have happily taken one less for more time to enjoy each of them.
Heads up!! that bill is going to hit you HARD at the end.
Great date spot, the course progression is very sexy.
Highlight of the night - Rice pudding.
