Superseded our expectation!
Celebrated our daughter’s 21st birthday with family and friends! Food delicious and setting spectacular but the evening was definitely made more special because of the fantastic service received from our waiter Floyd! An unforgettable evening! Thank you!

I can't say what impressed us more: the breathtaking food or the breathtaking location right on the Atlantic. Every gourmet and South Africa fan has to visit here at least once. Fantastic in every respect.
Be the first to ReplyLocation amazing
Fantastic location, good food. The tastiest dish I thought was togarasvhi squid, really great. Oysters are an option but not a must. Linefish shashimi quality is top so it doesn't need much as far as we're concerned. Setting by the sea is amazing. Hotel also looks great. There was no Uber to be found so we were taken home by an employee. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Be the first to ReplyWaiter ruined the experience
The food and views are excellent. Sadly the waiter was a mite lacking in gratitude for a more than generous tip. He took 10 minutes to bring the bill then completely disappeared when he wasn't done with the service. Disgusting.
Be the first to ReplySimply unforgettable!!!
We went there for lunch to celebrate a girlfriend 50th's birthday and it was simply perfect! Amazing location, the best one I've ever seen, right on the ocean facing beautiful Hout Bay, lovely and caring staff and the food... delicious. I had the best risotto in my life, with peas, white truffle and chorizo oil... I'm Italian and I cook risotto at home so trust me I know how a great risotto has to be... Amazing!!! We went to the chef to congratulate with him... Bravo! I hope one day I'll be back to CPT and for sure I'll come here. We recommend this restaurant hundreds per cent!! What's an amazing experience! Insane as my friends say ❤️

Book early! We were lucky to get in despite trying to book several months before we arrived in Cape Town. It was only by phoning directly that we secured a booking. It is a fabulous location, right on the waters edge looking across the bay to the Sentinel. The food is also delicious, the staff delightful, a truly memorable occasion.

We were here on New Year’s Day and enjoyed the restaurant immensely. Staff and service was great, unobtrusive yet very attentive. The menu was exquisite, refined and simply stunning!
Be the first to ReplySuperb! You must try it!
This was one of our favorite restaurants on our South Africa trip. We arrived on Christmas Day to check in to the Tintswalo Hotel Atlantic and since we knew many of the restaurants would be closed on Christmas Day, we decided to eat here. Well, that was the best decision we made. This food is just exceptional. We ate a Christmas dinner, fix price menu meal here and thoroughly enjoyed every bite of our food. The service is phenomenal and you will not regret it. Also, as compared to US prices, we found this to be very reasonably priced for a multiple course dinner. Our hotel package included breakfast and breakfast was just as tasty as the dinner. Additionally, the views are gorgeous as you are right on the water. We absolutely recommend this restaurant so much that we ate at the sister restaurant in Franschhoek at the Maison winery. We regret not being able to go to the sister restaurant in Capetown called Thaali which serves Indian tapas. We have been recommending these restaurants to all the tourists we meet!! You must try it! Note- this is about 40 min from downtown Capetown. Once you arrive, you will be driven down a long windy road by the hotel staff to the restaurant on the water.
Be the first to ReplyHard to beat ocean side location with wonderful food and wines
What a location! I cannot imagine a more stunning, private and special location for dinner. Right on the water, with waves lapping beside you and views over the bay makes for an unforgettable meal. We are at dinner during December and had a lovely table for 2 on the deck. We are able to watch the sun go down whilst dining from the well curated chefs menu. We matched our own wines, which enabled us to try more of the wonderful South African wines, all helped by the excellent guidance of our water Victor. We was super fun and we had a great evening with him as our waiter. He appeared passionate about the restaurant and also his wines! All in all a very memorable evening, and coming from the UK it was the best meal we could ever expect for the price, we would never get such a high standard meal for what we consider very reasonable prices!
Be the first to ReplyThis isn’t a meal, it’s an experience!
From the minute you pull into the parking lot for your shuttle ride down, you realize, “this is going to be something!” Well, it’s just started! Absolutely stunning views from every table, over looking the water, hearing the crashing waves, seeing the art depicting natural wonders of the area, and oh, you’ve not even put a bite in your mouth, let’s you know this isn’t just going to ‘lunch’ (when we went it was mid-day). Service, well hard to describe, as everything was anticipated! Whatever you needed was already there, and not cluttering up the table ahead of time, but brought with/if not just prior, to you needing it. I hope that makes sense! For a place known for their cuisine, the portions were more than ample! The menu is “fixed” but with choices, and our family is such that we order as many different things as possible as we ‘share’ and taste each other’s dishes. (For those of you who this grosses out, please know we parcel out the food onto separate bread plates -already brought to the table when our server realized our plan). Three and a half hours ‘flew’ by, and we enjoyed great views, conversations, and oh, by the way, the food! OVER THE TOP preparation and creativity went into every course! Enough said! This isn’t lunch, it’s an experience! GKI

Be the first to Reply'Unique Location & Delicious Food" !
Beautiful Restaurant in a Unique Location ! ....... right on the edge of the beach. The set tasting menu was very well constructed as you would expect from a Chef's Warehouse Restaurant. The service was excellent and all the dishes well explained. A sweet dish at the end of the meal would have made it 'Perfect'
Be the first to ReplyIncredible restaurant, spectacular views
There is no shortage of great dining in and around Cape Town, but this was our favorite. The food was amazing, the setting is spectacular. Would highly recommend it.
Be the first to ReplyMemorable special Anniversary lunch!
From the moment we arrived at the car park at Tintswalo we were blown away by the location, service and of course the food. We were already fans of the Chef's Warehouse in Constantia and the format of 4 x courses with 2 tapas per course was familiar to us. Each course did not disappoint and the balance of the dishes was just perfect. We were given a fantastic table overlooking the ocean and that view and the flavours will remain with us for a very long time.

One of those views, make this restaurant worth a visit. The food was good, I wouldn't say it was amazing, and the service good but not amazing. It''s more of a tasting menu than tapas, some very strong flavours, I enjoyed most of the dishes but not all of them. Overall experience very good.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Experience - Highly recommended
Was an amazing experience. Fantastic view. Intimate restaurant with friendly staff. Food was amazing! The only reason I have not rated them a 5 is that the service was not as excellent as everything else. At this level of restaurant, the price that is charged and the outstanding level of the food served - I expected the same level from the service. Whilst is was good - it lacked attentiveness. We consistently refilled our own drinks and the wait between different courses was inconsistent. Again, just general lack of attention. That been said, I will most definitely go there again and will highly recommend it!

This is very special, from the stunning location to the brilliant food. Excellent service, it’s hard to beat anywhere in Cape Town.
Be the first to ReplyOceanside delight
Place a stylish restaurant virtually in the surf. Serve great cocktails and wine Then get a highly skilled imaginative chef to serve tapas style course after course of delicious seafood and meats Hire great staff who were friendly and professional Now you have the near perfect dining experience worth the 30 min drive out from central Cape Town Only quibble - the tasting menu at 950 ZAR is designed for an even number of diners so we were required to pay for 6 covers despite being a party of 5. This could be easily rectified and wouldn’t grate as much

Easily the best restaurant currently operating in Cape Town. Spectacular food and spectacular views. This was my 2nd visit and both were consistently top notch. The flavours, presentation and balance of the menu was amazing. An absolute must but booking early is essential

The food is fresh and very well presented. We had the fish in a delicious sauce and the arachini balls. The breakfast is well put together.
Be the first to ReplyMichelin-caliber genius food in an oceanside paradise
An unforgettable meal in a breathtaking place. The menu at CW Tintswalo is ambitious, well-paced, creative, and delicious. We had excellent oysters mignonette and an obscenely rich bread course before starting the 4-course small plate extravaganza. Highlights were the venison tartare, the excellent linefish dishes in rounds 2 and 3 (special shout out to the sauce substitute in course 2 due to my cholesterol meds), and unreal preparations of duck breast and, if you can believe it, the star of the show that was a smoked carrot risotto with whey and butter that may be the most memorable risotto we’ve ever had (and we’ve had a lot of it in our culinary adventures). Add to that excellent cocktails (mine a pineapple-based one; my spouse’s an excellent gin cocktail heavy on the basil), an excellent Chenin Blanc paired with our heavier plates, a sinful chocolate-based mousse bar, and impeccable service by Elvis, and this was easily one of our top meals in South Africa, possibly anywhere. Did I also mention all of this barely cracked $100 USD - continuing the absurd trend of affordable, top-class cuisine in the Mother City? This is absolutely worth the 40-minute drive out of the city center of Cape Town. We’ll be back one day for a lunch to catch the breathtaking view of Haut Bay during the day.

Wow, what an amazing place to be! The food is great and delicious! Also the service is great and very nice. This is a place where you must have been!
Be the first to ReplyGreat dining experience marred by price
To be fair, despite the poor rating, the food and the service were both excellent (and the venue is pretty and has great ambiance) and I was poised to leave on a high until the bill arrived. And I am resentful to even say so, but credit where credit is due. I was expecting to pay R750.00 pp for the Pescatarian menu (there were 4 of us), which is still being advertised for R 1,500.00 for 2 or R 750.00 per person on their website as I type this review. Instead, we were charged R 850.00 pp. Since there were 4 of us, this meant an additional R 400.00 had to be forked out. But my biggest irritation happened when I raised this with the waiter, twice, and showed him their website, he merely apologised and made no effort whatsoever to correct the overcharge or even attempt to assist. Even though it was late, he could've taken my details and tried to resolve the matter the next day. Instead, I received an apology and was wished a good evening. Basically, I was shoved aside and dismissed. A very poor show and the last time I eat at or recommend any of the CWs if this is how they operate.

We had a delicious lunch here. Even the 10-year-old enjoyed her meal. Every course is a revelation. It's not cheap, but it is delicious. On windy/rainy days they even have a covered balcony. The only bad mark is that they only provide bottled water - no free filtered water for those that want. Given the price, I would expect water to be included.

A taste journey you won't forget. 4 courses comprising 8 dishes. Each as striking as the next. As soon as you taste the next plate you will already have forgotten the last as each experience draws you forward into this delightful degustation
