This would be my last meal, the roasted chicken and foigras with the fire toasted bread is perfection. I dream of returning to this restaurant.
My second visit, just as enjoyable!
This is my second visit and I am just as excited and anticipated as my first time (which I have also reviewed here in TA a couple of years ago). I think enough has been mentioned about their bresse chicken (along side with the mountain of shoe strin
It is what it is.
Touristy, expensive & the wait staff has an attitude. But it continues to be amazing food. Everyone should dine here once before you die & then you can decide if it's your vibe or not. We've probably been 5-6 times. No need to go ev
Terrible manners
Absolutely horrible staff and service! Incredibly rude over the phone and in person. They make you feel so bad about wanting to even fine there!! Talk about nasty French attitude
SCAM ALERT
Scam alert! They only take reservations over the phone. There are several FAKE websites claiming to be their reservation sites. All take money to guarantee it. When we got to the restaurant they were rude, dismissive, insulting and arrogant. They k

It has been sold!
Have loved this place for 30 years. (Yes, Iโm old!). Never had a bad meal But last week something felt funny. Normal waiters seemed to not be there? New people? Then the chicken came. Good but was it missing something? I attributed it to je

We were very excited to try this restaurant as we heard some wonderful things from a few friends. It is a very cute, although somewhat rundown, setting, but that added to the charm and the servers were attentive and friendly. However, the food was v
If you can get a table, definitely go.
Old school vibe, good service Chicken was the recommended dish but really enjoyed the side dishes of mushrooms and crispy baked potato the most, as well as the foie gras and green salad.

A CAUTIONARY review. Enter at your own risk visitors. Lets get the basics out of the way first. We knew very well that this was a pricey place. We had the "famous" roast chicken with the fries - this was our only food. I figured a whole ch
Authentic Paris Gem.
Amazing from start to finish. An authentic French bistro with great food and service. We ordered the snails, garden salad, and duck confit and garlic potatoes. All magnificent. A definite must visit when in Paris.
A very difficult to book restaurant especially for tourists yet rewarding if you do get a table...
Restaurants serving Bresse chicken can be found throughout Paris (as you can see from my other reviews in this trip). While Chez l'Ami Louis is not the most expensive, this is considered to be on the high side. Booking is essential as it is a very sm
Old School. And French in all the ways.
First things first, the food is delicious. And perfect. Scallops Provenรงal to start. Followed by the whole roast chicken, of course, and frites, with an enormous salad to cut the richness. The mixed berries with crรจme fraรฎche for dessert were sum
Thanksgiving in Paris
A must do when in Paris, order the roast chicken and the house potatoes and you can thank me later! Great spot for a birthday too.
Amazing Restaurant
Atmosphere was excellent, restaurant has such character and a Paris 'vibe' service was great but above all the food was perfect. From the foi gras to the insanely juicy chicken and the incredible chocolate gateu it was perfect - thank you!! Ignore

Quintessential old school Parisian bistro dining.
Another reviewer wrote that it, "feels like you are going back to the 19th century" and I couldn't agree more. The food is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared for butter, decadence, and large portions. We ordered a healthy sample of t

The first time I came here was in 1982 when Louis Magnin was at the helm. He presented us our chicken, holding it by the legs. I could barely finish the escargots when the chicken and the frites arrived. Everything was abundant and delicious. The
L'Ami Louis is one of the 2 best restaurants i've been to.
I have eaten all over the world. However, it is not for Wussies, Cowards or Weaklings! There will be butter. You will sweat, and eat way too much. You will spend too much money on the vintage wine list. Well priced wines.i walked out before desert and
They Sure Aren't Friendly
But it's the best bistro in Paris. Nothing rivals the simplicity of excellence. Don't over-order. Portions are in line with prices.
VERY SALTY AND VERY EXPENSIVE
T E R R I B L E. Very salty, very overpriced, very small table, very difficult to get in and the place is not pretty, very old. Food portions are HUGE and not in a good sense, badly presented. The foie gras and the truffle is good but thatโs it. Th
No value for money!!
The price/vale of the food options is awful. Food not worth the price paid. Great wine list and attentive service but it just canโt offset merely adequate food for the prices charged. Nevermoreโฆโฆ
Exceptionally good
It was so difficult to reserve a table here but it was worth all the troubles. Every dish we had was exceptionally good and the service was very good , very friendly. We will go back there again..
Favorite restaurant anywhere!!
Visited Paris for our 10th Anniversary and our hotel concierge sent us to Chez Lโami Louis. It is a very special place!! Very small and it feels like you are stepping back in time. As Americans who speak very limited French it was a little intimid
