Really tasty food! I went with my family for breakfast, and we got a variety of things, all of which were delicious! My breakfast sandwich, was super tasty and filling, the burger was cooked to perfection! the oxtail soup was very warm and hearty, and the grilled chicken was very well flavored! Coffee and service were also good!

Was a big fan when I last came here a few times 10-12 months ago. Went today and the verdict is a big "avoid" and "waste of money" We were seated at a booth that had just been vacated by folks who left without ordering (we should've done the same frankly after this experience). We were told that the cutlery and glassware (that had been moved around on the table) was "clean". We had to repeatedly ask and then politely demand clean glasses and cutlery. I then asked for a cafe con leche and was told that it's the same as a latte by the waiter. Err no it is not. He again repeated it is the same... ok, odd service. Our food - the conpleta and burger - arrived prior to drip coffee and my cafe con leche. In fact, while we ate (about 20 min), our simple drinks never came. So we paid and asked that they never show. Burger was good though the bun was cold and I remember the burger patty itself being larger. Good smash burger though. The completa was fine though, considering we asked for an extra egg which they say they included, the portion was minuscule. Service was terrible requiring you to advocate for yourself at every turn - wtf? Seems the Bib Gourmand rec went to their heads and the place has heavily deteriorated in the last year
Be the first to ReplyI came here on my neighbors recommendation.
I am a longtime resident of the area. Came on a Saturday around 2 PM. The place was crowded and we sat at the bar. The food took one hour exactly to get to us and we were right in front of the kitchen , I gives specific instructions about the meal and it came incorrect, it was also very salty, ordered a cappuccino, and it was very lame and very bad you think being a Cuban place known for their amazing coffee this thing would've been good, but it was not, no foam no flavor , just some dirty water I will give it another try , I always do with every establishment that I visit, I know this place is busy, but one hour to get a simple egg sandwich is not acceptable, the hostess was also not very helpful. I see a lot of empty tables and yet she suggested we sat at the bar. I do, however I'm kind of impressed. They servehard liquor here , maybe to get wasted and forget the bad food and poor service? Let's see how long management takes to get back to me.

Came here on a trip with some girl friends and highly recommend this hash. We also had the pancake which you NEED to try.
Be the first to ReplyAt Chugs, the service and food left much to be desired.
Despite our waitress not taking any notes on our order, she managed to mess it up three times. To top it off, our coffees and food were served cold. The staff's hostile and unapproachable demeanor further soured our experience.

Ate lunch with my family and friends , place was very busy and it took us about 90 minutes to sit 8 people. The service was a bit slow , but food overall was really good. I'd come back on a day where it's not as busy . Highly recommend if you are near the grove and want a good place to eat
Be the first to ReplyI loved this place!! Really great food, fast service.
We went on a Monday at 2 l, no wait and sat outside which they set up nicely. We got the duck croquettes which were very good and the pan con bistec. The sandwich you can share between two people if you don't want to overindulge. They are a pretty big portion. The best thing was the mamey and guava shake. I'm not a huge fan of guava but this was so delicious I would go back just for that. Would come back again!
Be the first to ReplyFood was great.
The French toast and pancake were delish. Very dense though so I recommend splitting the pancake with another.
Be the first to ReplyWorst experience at a restaurant.
They served au jus with their sandwiches in coffee cups that sit precariously on the edges of each plate. Well my plate the cup rolled off and onto the table (my phone) and all over my pants and shoes. They didn't even comp us for their screw up on how they served their food. Aside from that, the menus were printed so faded, no one could read them, the food was meh, and the manager came over 1/2 hour later and said "Well, let me know if I can help but we don't have spare clothes in the back". Seriously? We will never be back, that place was beyond disappointing! If in Coconut Grove, I do not recommend.
Be the first to ReplyBrunch on a Tuesday was outstanding.
Service was quick and attentive. The outdoor patio had lots of space, pretty and relatively quiet. The croquettas were great but the star was the cast iron pancake! The other stand out meals for the table were the crepes and the short rib boliche. Definitely not a light meal but well worth the calories!

Tried this spot out randomly and off that bat the two hostess were THE worst hostess ever they were lying about the seating order I had to rudely complain to them after seeing 3 parties get sat before me and I have 35 min into my wait time. They claimed they were sitting 4 tops at the time after I complained and what a surprise I was sat in a 4 top table and I was a party of 2. The service was soo slow it was ridiculous and it was already slowing down by the time I sat down.. the food came out before my drinks and I ordered the drinks before anything. The food was nothing out of this world. I dont recommend this place AT ALL!

Visited Chug's a few weeks ago and my group liked liked it! Since they're listed on Michelin's "Bib Gourmand" list, I did have high expectations. We went mid-day on a Wed. The staff was nice but needed a few mins to warm up to us. Coffees and cocktails were good. My friend did get a mimosa and there was a lot to desired as they didn't fill here glass up very much. I think they gave her a wine glass instead of a champagne flute. I ordered the "cast iron pancake" and I enjoyed it! It was sweet and gave me cornbread vibes. Tasted great with the syrup it came in too. I'd consider going back.

This place is an amazing brunch spot! They don't take reservations so get there early or put your name down and walk down the street for coffee. I had the Pan con croquetta sandwhich and it was phenomenal! It was fresh, and a great flavor combo! We sat outside and that felt like an oasis in Miami - like we were teleported to Spain!
Be the first to ReplyCame here on a Saturday and it was super busy around 11am.
I waited 40 minutes to get seated and the food did not disappoint. I tried the pork hash and the pancake! The pork hash came with a lot of meat and was a good amount of food. The pancake is huge!! We couldn't finish it, but it was delicious definitely a must try when you go! I also tried their banana carajillo which was interesting. They have interesting cocktails! The place itself looks like a modern cafe. It's cute and casual. The service was okay, but that could just be bc they were really busy
Be the first to ReplyService is slow.
.. looked like there were 2 waiters and a bunch of servers waiting for the waiters permission to bring over items. Pastelitos were pretty much done by the time we got there. Had the duck croquetas and duck doesn't really belong in a croquetas. The malanga latkes were ok, guava sauce great. Frita patty melt was delish but it felt like they just used the same patty from the Frita burger they could have flatten it more to fit the rye bread size. My friends liked their dishes Abuelita platter. Didn't bother staying for dessert but across the street Fireman Derek's pie was awesome!
Be the first to Replyabsolutely must try cast iron pancake.
Best pancake i've ever had in my life. Pan con lechón is also incredible !!

Usually a wait but worth it! Breakfast and coffee is delish! Recommend the pancake or quiche. True diner feel on the inside and outside seating is also available.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was incredible.
Would highly recommend the croquettes and the cast iron pancake. The wait time was pretty standard for a brunch spot on a Sunday. Service was decent. My only complaint was the server could have cleared the plates as we hung out to talk for a little bit after we ate.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was amazing, i had the sausa egg and cheese.
This sandwich was like an explosion of flavor in your mouth. David my server was so pleasant and nice, very attention and friendly. You definitely need to try it out if your in Coconut Grove,Miami
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to have a quality breakfast.
Good ambiance. Coffee drinks are also delicious!

Pros: plenty of seating, FAST service, I was in and out in less than 45 minutes during the morning rush. I sat at the bar because the entire place was packed, it was fun to watch their well oiled machine at work. I had the veggie hash and it was a dream, all my favorites squash, platanito... yum! The cappuccino was also creamy and delightful. We also bought some Pastelito papi pastelitos to-go and they were a magnificent breakfast the next day.Cons: No reservations and they get very busy, so if you want a table you may have to wait. Parking in the area is a mess. We parked on 27th and took a nice stroll to avoid the madness.Going back soon, I wanna check out their diner menu!
Be the first to ReplyWhile spending a lazy cloudy Sunday afternoon in the Grove,
While spending a lazy cloudy Sunday afternoon in the Grove, I had a chance to check out Chug's Diner proper. (Sidebar: I had previously enjoyed their namesake burger at Taurus a while back). Although it's named a diner, it's a gentrified take on Cuban comfort food with Grove prices. That said, it was pretty well flavored with good service! My first choice for a main, the Milanesa (Cuban chicken parm) wasn't available so I ordered their "Abuela's Plate". Think of the basic rice, black beans and a banana with whatever meat you'd get at your Cuban grandma's house and you'll get the idea. The lechon (shredded pork) I enjoyed was pretty juicy and the black beans were yummy as well. The banana was clean and fresh. With this plate, maduros were extra (which I paid and enjoyed) as well as Cuban bread. The maduros weren't overly greasy but still tender and with the natural sweetness. The cuban bread was a little disappointing, as it was "flabby" (not well toasted) and came halfway through my meal.My banana carajillo (coffee liqueur) was well blended and a smooth way to beat the Sunday scaries.

This restaurant serves American style food with a Cuban edge and that results in perfection. The service is lovely, the staff is professional and kind, and the restaurant is immaculate. I ordered a breakfast sandwich wo ham (bc I'm a Jew) and it was not only a work of art but joy to my tastebuds. I also discovered a sauce that is made by a local company called Barbaro Mojo. (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbarboromojo.com&s=e723d73792564c09624e4e10e7a3c8ae82c9d844c470c9ca2e8045faeddf8116" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">barboromojo.com</a>) Thats sauce is amazing! Order yourself some. And by all means travel far and wide to Chugs!
