Coi was the worst Michelin starred restaurant I've been to because of 1) taste 2) price 3) service was decent but not what I expect from a Michelin restaurant. Let's break it down. The taste was OKAY. This is a 2-Michelin star restaurant so I expect at the minimum some dishes to be mind blowing. Granted it was Valentines Day and they had a different menu. I felt like there weren't enough dishes to grant a $700+ meal for two. None of the dishes blew my mind. They were so so. The price was close to $800 for two people ($775 including tax) and we were not satisfied for the number of dishes we got. The taste wasn't there. I would not come back nor would I recommend to my friends come. I've been to Michelin restaurants like Acquerello, AL's Place, French Laundry, Gary Danko and Commis for reference. The service was OK. The servers didn't ask us once how we liked the dishes. The cadence (timing) between dishes was also a bit long. You would think at a restaurant where the taste wasn't quite there, that the experience would be exceptional. Nope. Not there at all either. I would have given this place a 1-star given the price and taste but that would be cruel. Coi needs to step it up if it wants to hold on to its 2 stars. I wouldn't event give it 1 star. I'd probably pay at most $75 for this meal.
