Don’t believe the hype!
Lured by the Michelin Star, we were excited to try Cote Miami. Upon arrival, you are greeted by an in-hospital bellman “bouncer” that you would expect in a late-night strip joint. Instead of a welcoming demeanor he stared through you with deep contempt. Navigating past the noisy bar with patrons six deep, you are seated at your table, and the sales pitch begins. The hype of A5, Kobe, etc., is relentless, and it's no surprise the prices are unpublished. You start to recognize that this is more akin to a Samurai, aka Benihana knock-off than a culinary severe discourse in Korean cooking. Theatrics take precedence over quality and service. The dining experience is boisterous and frenetic with the roar of the bar crowd, from the open seating design to the waiter/chef cutting your meat into cube chunks with scissors and expecting you to create a taco concoction with a modest array of Korean accompaniments. We tried the seafood platter, wedge salad, and steak tartare, and they were average but not Michelin Star-worthy. The kicker was just before the cooking started; the waiter announced he was going on a 20-minute break and someone else would take over! Huh? Even Benihana’s frowns on cigarette breaks during dinner service! The service deteriorated during the break, leaving drinks and water unfilled. Management comped drinks, but we are not here for free stuff - we have resources, and we wanted to experience Micheline quality dining. This is just another theatrical steak place fast-talking the significant-eyed tourists visiting the big city. There are too many great restaurants in Miami to settle for acceptable mediocrity.

Fantastic Korean BBQ! You won't find better cuts of meat anywhere else! What you'd expect from a Michelin-rated Korean bbq restaurant. However, I did think their gochujang popcorn chicken was a bit oversauced. I was also expecting their tonkatsu ribeye to be a bit more tender. I'm a big fan of their happy hour menu, where they have a collection of cocktails and small bites available for just $8.88. You'll just need to stand at the bar to eat. Service was friendly and top notch. The ambiance was sexy and sophisticated.

We came here after a recommendation from a friend who knows the Miami scene inside out. He promised that Cote would be “hot”. When we got there we saw what he meant. It was packed and buzzing. We had a drink at the bar and waited to be shown to our table. Then something a bit weird happened and from what we understand, somebody with a similar name was seated ahead of us. We waited quite some time and eventually asked a member of staff what gives. From there they spotted the error and we were looked after like royalty. Everything was perfect. We chose a nice bottle of wine and ate 3 cuts of delicious beef. We were happily about to pay the bill when Olivia informed us that the food part of our order was on them!!! She apologised profusely for the mix up and wanted to be clear that errors like that are not how they roll. Well - to say we were surprised would be an understatement. To make errors is normal and in a busy and popular place like this one might often be dealt with coldly and made feel as if one was lucky to be there at all. Not at Cote, Miami. Not only did they acknowledge the error but they owned it and made it right. Thanks to Olivia and all the excellent staff at Cote. We had a great evening and we will be back. x

Our experience at COTE was outstanding. We did a small appetizer (“steak and eggs” which was absolutely to die for) and the Butcher’s Feast and left plenty full. We couldn’t even finish all of the stews/salad etc. Service was attentive and everything was cooked perfectly. We have a mid-level spice tolerance and didn’t find anything spicy at all, contrary to some of the other reviews.
Be the first to ReplyExpensive “Melting Pot”
Just OK…it’s an upscale “Melting Pot”. The constant switching of waiters/servers was odd. Our cook was nice along with the 5 other people coming around. The steak was good, but all the accompanying food was not. Not a lot of choice of sides. I’m on a keto diet and all I could eat was the meat. The meat was cut into halves which was very big. Sometimes I to spit it out in fear of choking! NO silverware or knife to cut only chopsticks! It’s a very young crown more there for “pictures and drinking” it seemed. Definitely NOT worth the $400.00 (only one drink ordered) for what we got! Again, staff polite. Just not the experience we would return to. Save your money IMO! I’ve dined all over the world and this isn’t it. Sorry not sorry.
Be the first to ReplyWaiter/chef with foul smelling breath salted the food from a bandaid on his pointer finger.
Very interesting dining experience with high quality well seasoned food. Our waiter turned my stomach with bad breath (he stands over you and the food while cooking it) and the way he salted the meat from his pointer finger that happened to have had a bandaid on it. Disgusting.

Wow, I went here for my birthday and the wife and I both hand the butchers feast. Amazing food! Cooked perfectly by the fantastic staff. More than enough food for both of us. A couple of great cocktails to o go with dinner. I highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyI've been wanting to go to Cote for a long whole now, and it turned out to be a disappointment ⭐️⭐️⭐️
As we wanted to try out the best Cote had to offer, we tried the Steak Omakase for two. The bottom line - I wouldnt try the Steak Omakase, I would pick specific cuts (COTE Galbi is a must!) and sides that you like (as you might find a lot of the sides not to your taste) The good: * It's a lot of food, you wont leave hungry * The COTE Galbi (marinated shortrib) are super delicious, definitely our favorite * Service was good, at times The bad: * Meat quality and preparation was high - I've had much better meat in a lot of other places, preparation was very inconsistent due to servants handling mutiple tables and generally being busy * Service was inconsistent thriughout the meal, it was sometimes great and aometimes hard to find someone that will help * Very expensive, at $180 per person, I would expect more
Be the first to ReplyIf you want to pamper yourself and experience something different, Cote is your place!
Took advantage of Miami Spice and tried something different and it did not disappoint. Cote is an experience all together, the food, ambiance, service, everything was just on point. The bill is a bit higher than most places I normally eat at but worth every penny. The quality of the food and the treatment was worth it all.
Be the first to ReplyGreat steak great service
We order the steak sampler. Everything was delicious. The bacon appetizer is a must. The cocktails are delicious also. I will return.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious steak!
Very cool vibe! We ordered the butcher’s feast which consists of 4 cuts which are 2 ounces each so a total of 8 ounces. The accompaniments are vegetables which are mostly pickled. The veggies were ok. We ordered a paella to enhance the steak otherwise it wouldn’t have been enough food. The steaks cuts were all delicious…hangar, rib eye, flat iron and short rib. So tender and flavorful and perfectly done. Excellent! Only thing keeping my rating from being a 5 star was the sides. Service was friendly. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyReally nice experience
I was looking much forward to this dinner. I had read only nice reviews even before it got the star Michelin. We had the small tasting Menu and we really enjoyed our dinner trying a different way to eat grilled meat. Personally I liked the location and especially the bar which had a generous selection of all sort of alcohol. The service at the bar and at the table was perfect not much upon arrival.

Nice food nice atmosphere but one Michelin star for a steak house really, I had a set menu and one glass of their selected wine and had a very delicious lunch.
Be the first to ReplyAs expected - a great steakhouse
Cote Miami is one of the new 1 Michelin star restaurants in Florida this year, and the experience is true to its sister 1 star restaurant in NYC (same name). As expected, the food and service are top notch. Steaks are cooked perfectly (right in front of you, at the table), wine recommendations are great, and service is perfect. On our visit they were out of non-wagyu beef, which is odd for a steakhouse. We upgraded to the A5 Wagyu, and while way more expensive, it was indeed fantastic. Overall, it's a unique and fun experience with great food and service. Interior is sleek and modern and nice to enjoy. Only giving this for stars since I think giving a steakhouse 1 Michelin star is a bit aspirational- there are many high end steakhouses that will also fit that bill and while the cook-at-table idea is fun, Cote isn't truly that much more impressive. Go for the experience and enjoy the food.

Sommelier Maritza…awesome. The bar it’s wonderful. COTE not is a restaurant, it’s a destiny. All together is a paradise. Thanks for all
Be the first to ReplyMostly Great
Service was great, Korean Bacon and the steak options we chose were absolutely amazing, my only disappointment with the food was the Paella ... It was awful. Also had high expectations about the interior design/look for the restaurant, especially after the big mirror door by the reception, but the rest of the inside was a bit underwhelming.
Be the first to ReplyPhenomenal
I was a little worried when walking in that this was going to be too trendy for my taste and for my elderly parents. The place was pretty quiet at 5 when we had a reservation (even booking almost 2 weeks in advance, the options were 5 or 10pm), so I was unsure that the booking options were accurate. I was wrong. By 530, most tables were full and it was packed by 6. I didn't understand before that they would cook the steak for you at the table, but it was an awesome surprise. For about 10 more per person, I highly recommend the Butcher's Feast, which has 4 types of meats and all the accompaniments. All of the waitstaff pitched in to make sure that your meats were turned and served appropriately. Each piece was done to perfection! Couldn't have asked for a better dinner and I will certainly be back the next time I am in town!

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile, but reservations are hard to get. I got a last minute reservation at 6pm on Saturday night. We were seated quickly. The drinks were great, and they had a nice Bordeaux by the glass. The food was amazing. Honestly, the bacon was the best dish I have tasted in a long time. The wagyu paella was great. I really understand the 5 star reviews. The service was excellent and all staff who walked by took time to service our table, if necessary, refilling water glasses etc. The place is expensive so be prepared, but if you want to splurge on great food, this is definitely a fantastic choice.

Wonderfull staff, great food, nice atmosphere. A must go. Only bear in mind that everything is really spicy
Be the first to ReplyShould be great but not quite there....
From the moment we walked in I already knew this place needed work. The hostess walks us into the main dining area and leads us to our table then suddenly stops us and states "just a moment", leaves us standing while they get the table ready. Not the best start. She takes our drink order, a few sodas and a beer, they are served by simply putting the cans down with glasses, drinks not poured. We ordered the butchers feast, the server would be making our food while constantly looking around, seemed her focus was not on our table. At times she would walk away while our meat was cooking, another server without saying a word would come over and start turning the meat then walk away. The food itself was fine. The service though and presentation are not quite there. Looks like this is the kind of restaurant that relies more on tourist and one timers instead of repeat patrons.

Great quality and dry aged cuts made with care at your table. Korean BBQ will never be the same after visiting Cote. The sides and Kimchee are a highlight. Good service and the cocktails are amazing in the bar.
Be the first to ReplyJust misses the mark
Cote Miami is a hip and appealing restaurant to have a meal, but somehow just misses the mark. The food, service, and concept are there - almost. The food was very good. The quality of the meats and cuts were excellent. The restaurant itself was visually pleasing - moody, dark, trendy. The bar was beautiful. The restrooms clean and stylish. Having dined in other Michelin star restaurants, I found Cote Miami didn't totally live up to that expectation. We opted for the butchers meal, and a special add on (as suggested by our waiter) ordering 4 courses. The concept of the staff cooking the meal is fine, however what was lacking was the next level of intuition from the staff. A well trained restaurant staff would see our meal progression and ask us how the pacing was. They would have paid more attention to my allergy. I have a shellfish allergy, which I indicated when I made the reservation and then told our waiter when we ordered. Our waiter failed to tell me that in my particular meal 4 of the 7 dishes were made with shellfish. Perhaps I would have changed my order if I knew? Later, another staff member offered to bring me some suitable options. I was really pleased that they offered to accommodate me however for a Michelin rated restaurant where you're paying a premium for the meal, I felt this should have been prevented in the first place. Overall we enjoyed the meal but found it to be overpriced for what it was. Paying for Michelin food and service is fine when that's what you get. Overall, the meal and experience was good, but I would not rate it as great and I would not bother to go back. I would gladly pay half the price for an amazing steak at a Brazilian Steakhouse without the loud music and waitstaff checking on me every 2 minutes.
Be the first to ReplyCote is the best thing to happen to Miami since Miami Vice!
Simon Kim did the world outside Korea a great service by opening in NY, I was there in the opening week and the meal itself reminded me of my very best BBQ experiences in Seoul, even the kimchee was authentic. This has been successfully transported to Miami, not a copy of NY but its own. The room is beautiful and the location great, away from South Beach. And that marinated short rib Galbi is still to die for. The service is very atypical for Miami ie great! Its genuinely caring, two examples. 1) we were a handful having been to the beach all afternoon drinking a little champagne celebrating being away from teh kids, Yusuf the GM was just a pro, really treating us as VIPs, and making sure we enjoyed our time there, a big asset for Cote. 2) the half French somm was excellent, in fact the wine list was deep and delicious, I decided to let it up to him, gave him a price which is something i almost never do, he came in $100 under and with a Cali cab sauve which was just incredible for the money, well done monsieur. Clearly I am a fan. Yes but justifiably so. Food is just downright yummy but also interesting and for someone tahst never been to korea an eye opening experience I bet, the room and atmosphere are great, the service is personal but also knowledgeable and professional and the kitchen under Chef David is engaged and focused (he let me have quick stroll through). If you are in Miami or South Beach, if you like good food and a fun atmosphere this is a MUST GO. Enjoy

Amazing food, drinks, and service! Nico was such an amazing and knowledgeable server! My new favorite restaurant in miami
Be the first to ReplyCote is one of a kind!
This may very well be one of the best restaurants in Miami, the service, the food, the wine… absurd for Miami. Thank God this place exists! Butchers feast was a fair amount of food and we added the wagyu paella, absolutely divine! If I can even get a reservation in the next month, not easy, I will def try! Ask for Matt, his service was outstanding! Joey also helped us with our wine and man that is a handsome Somm lol.
