Delicious Peruvian food in a beautiful setting!
We went to Coya for Valentine's Day and had a wonderful meal. The food was incredible and the cocktails were delicious too. We were served by Alam who was very attentive and thoughtful. We'll definitely be back soon!
Be the first to ReplyBrilliant service, great food
Went for a meal for my birthday, Angelo and Ciro are delightful, immaculate service we loved it. Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyBEWARE - HIDDEN CHARGES!!! - WONT BE RETURNING!
Food is average and overpriced. Portions are small and you end up with numerous small sharing dishes expensive for what you get. Waiter was the only positive point from the whole experience. Nice &friendly. Provided a bill at the end with a charitable donation added. No one mentioned to me what the charity was or that it would be added. So it was fraudulently added. There was also a "optional" eco charge. It wasn't optional as no one mentioned it to me. It was just fraudulently added as well. Partly my fault for not checking the bill. Service charge is included which is fine, the waiter then asks for an additional tip? Is the service charge not the tip? Final kick in the teeth as you leave there is a tip bowl present on the front desk?!! What a joke. Wont be returning.
Be the first to ReplyBad Slow Service and Messed Up Orders: Avoid!
I would have given 1 star but for the fact the food itself was good. The service was shocking. They got the starters wrong, and then took ages serving the right ones. The main courses also took forever - my one did not arrive and when I asked 35 mins later where it was, when my friend had received his 20 mins earlier, they said "something went wrong in the kitchen". We had to rush the food as a result, we did not eat at the same time and it was uncomfortable, the 'business lunch' was taking in excess of 1.5 hours, I got stomach ache trying to eat fast before my nxt appointment. Worst thing was there was no communication from the kitchen. I will never go there again nor recommend to any business diners.

Not normally one to write reviews especially if its going to be bad. Went with a group of 6 of us, spoke with the waiter and just said we will leave it to him to order for the table but picked out 1 or 2 dishes we have had before. Starters came up now and then to pick at then waiter put small steak and lobster down and said this is the mains to which we request won't be enough and need to order more. After about 10 minutes gone by the manager come over to us to say sorry cannot give any other food as kitchen is closing THIS WAS 8:40 on a Thursday night!!! quickly paid our bill and got out to NEVER return again.
Be the first to ReplyDO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!!!!!!!
PLEASE DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT So a friend of mine had to work in there and it was the worst experience ever. They were speaking behind his back in Italian thinking that he wouldn’t understand they spoke to him as if he was superior to him making him do all the work that they weren’t bothered to do, as it was in the hottest day recorded in history. The worst thing is that they got away with it and put a bad review on him which led him to loose his other job. The way i described it, is nothing compare to the way it happened if you only knew how bad it was it would break anyones heart.
Be the first to ReplyPossibly the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had
We phoned up prior to attending as we planned to use their set menu and people on our table had a nut and fish allergy and a dairy allergy. They informed us that this person could switch out options to accommodate their allergy which was great news. We arrived at the restaurant and it was a lovely welcome, we sat down and were asked if we wanted water and they brought us a bottle over and then they mentioned allergies (as we noted it on our booking). Firstly the waitress asked who had an allergy and two people on my table raised their hands, to which the waitress said “are they allergies or just intolerances” which is rather bizzare thing to say but we left it. My friend stated what she was told on the phone about substituting dishes and we were greeted with a very confused waitress. The waitress said that substituting dishes was not “what they do” at Coya and she would have to just pick what’s on the menu that doesn’t contain fish or nuts or dairy even if it meant ordering the same meal twice. Our order was then taken by the same waitress despite people noting an allergy!! We couldn’t believe a manager didn’t take our order and to be honest we should have said something then. We ordered our food and cocktails and then the waitress left. We waited almost 20 minutes for our drinks, so we called a member of staff over (who happened to be the manager) and informed her it was taking a while. She turns and says “you ordered at 12.33 and it is not 12.47 it has not been too long - I go now” and she walked off. It was almost comical how rude it was. Our drinks arrived followed by our 3 starters each that was on the set menu. 5 people ordered the bao buns and only 5 bao buns arrived despite the menu saying 2 pieces each. We flagged the waitress over to show the issue to which she says “the menu is wrong”. Of course we pushed back and they eventually gave us the 5 remaining bao buns “on the house” even though we were literally paying for them as it says 2 on the menu. By this point we just couldn’t believe how poor the service was and the quantity of food. You receive ONE skewer each with the starters it was so poor. Finally we had our main course and someone on the table who had a dairy allergy started getting a small rash on their neck. We alerted the staff that dairy likely is in one of the dishes and just to make the chefs aware in case. The manager said “it wasn’t us you must be allergic to something else”. Honestly overall it has to be the worst service and experience I’ve ever had. We paid £55 for 2 skewers, 2 bao buns, a main and one cocktail including £18 for water! If you have an allergy I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant at all, and to be honest for the price and quality of both food and experience it is NOT worth it.
Be the first to ReplyDeclined my request to process the payment faster! Terrible customer service
I usually don’t do the reviews. This place has terrible customer service. Out of 1 hour 45 minute visit no one check on me. Is there anything else I wanted to order. Wait staff is arrogant and careless. Waited 10 minutes for a check and when I asked (not nicely because of the lost patience) to make the payment faster a waiter declined my request to process the payment. Well done! Never visiting it again!
Be the first to ReplyGreat night out!
Lovely ambience! The food was simply delicious! We were with a group of friends meeting up after three years and it was the perfect place for a reunion! The margaritas were to die for! Julia and carlo went above and beyond during our dinning.Very efficient staff! The soft shell crab tacos were super tasty! Cant wait to be back!!
Be the first to ReplyA bizarre mix of amazing food and terrible service …. Such a shame
Took the family for dinner to celebrate a birthday, having eaten here a few times before. The food is exceptional, excellent ceviche and the soft shell crab tacos were superb … never going back though! The service was disorganised - we had to ask for some drinks after we’d ordered starters and by that point the glasses had already been cleared away. We felt as though we were a huge inconvenience for the staff, the service was abrupt and curt to the point of being rude. Not one single check back to see if the food was ok or if we needed anything. I’ve never seen anything like it before. We cut the meal short after the mains and got the bill. For the first time ever, I removed the optional service charge, explaining that whilst the food was excellent the service had been poor. This was met with a shrug of the shoulders and an indifferent ‘no problem’ which sums up the evening. I’ve eaten here a few times before and had a great experience which made this occasion all the more confusing … I guess if you can fill the tables then you don’t need to try? Well don’t worry, we’ll go elsewhere in the future.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and poor service
We had a table for two booked for 18:30. At 19:40 o'clock the waiter came to inform us that they needed the table at 20:00 o'clock and if they could move us to the bar. We were still waiting for one of our dishes and had not had the chance to even look at the desserts. I asked him why so early and he just shrugged 'it is all about business' I then retorted that except this there is also such thing as customer satisfaction. He just moved away. The last of the dishes came shortly after he went away. He then came back 10 minutes later to tell us that the table was no longer needed so we could stay! Phew, as this gave us a chance to order a dessert...
His attitude was also excessively familiar, which I disliked. I also asked for the tasting menu that is clearly listed on your web side and was told 'This is Mayfair'.
A rather disappointing experience and disrespectful service despite the good food, albeit at very high premium. Certainly did not feel welcome.
Memorable lunch
Five of us had a great lunch here. The food was really tasty and there was a lot of attention to detail in both the presentation of the food and the service. The restaurant, itself, is very attractive.
Be the first to ReplyImpressive
Was very impressed with both quality of service and food. I don’t mind paying if both service and food are exceptional and Coya met those really well, especially a request I had made regarding the bill. Though the restaurant was very busy we felt special. The signature sea bass dish is well worth ordering.
Be the first to ReplyA fun evening with tasty food
A bit of a different and enjoyable experience. Great decor. Had a table here on a midweek evening. It was really busy at 7pm.
Very good service with an explanations of how it works - think tapas / sharing style. Tasty food and some interesting
dishes on the menu which was fun. A good range of wines. It is a bit expensive but I’d very happily return,
Absolutely bog standard
I went for my birthday. The food wasn’t great for £80. As someone who eats out a lot I’ve spent the same at other venues and had much higher quality food. Half the time I didn’t actually even know what I was eating. You’re better off at sexy fish or sushi samba where you can get an amazing, memorable meal for a similar price per person.
I also lost a £100 deposit for two of my friends who have covid when it’s literally the law that they stay at home. I’ve never had a restaurant booking enforce a cancellation fee when it isn’t the whole party cancelling.
Also the staff/security are like prison guards stalking around during your meal, which is strange as there are so many and the place is full of women, and asking you multiple times to leave your table for the bar before you finish eating.
Fabulous evening with amazing food and brilliant service
13-Jan-22: Visited with 4 friends on a Thursday evening for a much needed night out. The restaurant was busy and buzzy with an amazing atmosphere, good music and a funky decor. Our waiter was brilliant: advising on portion sizes and number of dishes, specials, etc. Service throughout the meal was perfect, with glasses always topped up and always someone there if we wanted anything. The food was absolute perfection, from guacamole to bao buns to soft shell crab, and the most amazing huge beef rib special. We washed this down with some lovely rose and all left very happy, agreeing it was complete perfection of a night out. We'll definitely return.
Be the first to ReplySmall portions and expensive
Small portions for the price. Food was ok and decor was nice. However it was not made clear how small the portions were and we had to go and eat again elsewhere after as the food here nowhere near filled us up
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced
Food was nice but nowhere near worth the money it costs. £170 for 2 people who shared 3 starters, 2 mains and 2 sides. We had1 drink each. It's very rushed in here and staff can't wait to get you in and out. As i say, food is nice but definitely not worth the money. We was only in there an hour so it felt very rushed. Find it amazing how busy these places are considering how much they cost but i suppose majority of people go here just so they can post on Instagram. I wouldn't bother going back.
Be the first to ReplyNot as good experience as Mayfair
Food was nice but not great atmosphere. Service not very good as told by waitress that kitchen closing at 9pm and bill coming without asking around 10:30, staff seeming to rush closing while restaurant supposed to be open until midnight, quite surprising for a rather high end restaurant
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food, romantic meal, very good service!
Went on a Saturday night, great atmosphere!
The service was very attentive, never had an empty glass, servers were all smiling and very talkative.
The food was gorgeous! My boyfriend and I shared 3 starters and a main, was more than enough. We had a steak for the main, was definitely one of the best steaks I've had in a while.
Overall really lovely evening, perfect for a date night.
