If you're in Milano and craving pasta go here! Make a reservation because this place is very popular. The portions sizes were super big for me but the prices were super low. I love good food and simple pleasures, just trust me and book your table here a day or two ahead of time and enjoy.

We found this place featuring food from Abruzzo via the Bib Gourmand list. The wait was about 10-15 minutes on a Saturday at peak lunch time. The space is fairly small inside with tables for 2 or 4. It's pretty much all Italians here, and there's no English menu, which I love. Pasta portions were huge, and we over ordered, but all the dishes were €9-13.50 with the exception of a few proteins. They also give you warm grilled bread to start. - Paccheri alla Giannino: burrata and tomato sauce, good with extra pecorino with peppercorns - Chitarra alla Mugnaia: traditional Abruzzo lamb ragu - like a bolognese (no lamb gaminess), great texture on the pasta - Arrosticini: the signature Abruzzo lamb skewers - 8 of them served hot in a clay jug. It was a bit gamey for me, but flavor was good 1/2 L of house wine is only €6.50. Despite being a no frills / casual place, they change the tablecloth for each table, use cloth napkins, give you free grilled bread (included in the cover). You also get some amaretti cookies and grappa for free at the end! Bonus: air conditioning. What a gem! Closed Mondays.

Cosy neighbor spot, friendly atmosphere. Try tris of primi and arrosticini. You'll never leave hungry. Yummy
Be the first to ReplyEverything from the ambience to the service and the food
Everything from the ambience to the service and the food was impeccable. Upon entry, we were immediately greeted by who seemed like the owner of the restaurant, and then asked if we wanted English menus. The Italian menus had all the pricing, the English menus were for translation only. We needed up asking our server what he recommended, and the split both dishes: Anella alla pecorara (ham tomato )and the tagliatelle al ragū di cinghiale (wild boar) Both were fresh, served al dente and perfect portions. We were provided with complimentary brioche that was drizzled with olive oil. We also ordered a glass of Cabernet and moscato with our meals. The 1/4 carafe seemed more generous that what I am used to in the states! We ended with the tiramisu which was not too sweet and a delightful ending to our meal. 5/5 for cleanliness, authenticity, flavor, service, and ambience. Would highly recommend. They also have free WiFi available.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was fantastic all around.
The food was absolutely amazing. The waiter recommended we try the house specialty, the lamb skewers, they were decadent. The waiter was super friendly and ran out of the restaurant to say good bye when we left. The atmosphere was very cozy and a seemed like a family run place. We feasted and drank a bottle of wine, and then I'll turned out very reasonable. Tl;dr Go for the food you'll enjoy everything else as well. Also ask your waiter for recommendations

Great food, fair prices, endless toasted bread with olive oil. The buratta is excellent. The food is fresh and the prices aren't bad for the quality.
Be the first to ReplyThis is really a place frequent by locals.
I think it is best that a reservation is made before coming since almost all the tables are reserved. They have servers who speaks wonderful English so it's not a problem for non Italian language speakers. Crowd starts rolling in from 1pm for lunches. Price is reasonable for the good food. I had pasta with tomato, Aubergine and cheese as well as lamb skewers. It was definitely too much for one person.

This is a simple restaurant featuring local cuisine from the region of Abruzzu, close to Rome. So do not expect anything fancy but rather a neighborhood restaurant with a friendly and laid back feel to it. The food is, as expected when the food is from Abruzzo, heavy on meat. Prices are reasonable both for food and wine and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Dishes are large so when we ordered first pastas and then the mixed meat platter they suggested we wait and have the pasta first and then decide whether we could actually eat the mixed meat platter - as they suspected we were stuffed after the pasta so they arranged a smaller sampler of the different grilled meats. My favorite was the grilled lamb skewers but the pasta with lamb ragu was also very good. The wine list is very short and only has regional wines. I sampled two different reds and while they were not bad I was not very impressed. Price wise it was however very reasonable with the most expensive bottle of wine at €28. All in all a pleasant experience so would be happy to return.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is one of my very favorite restaurants anywhere
This place is one of my very favorite restaurants anywhere in the world. I don't say that lightly. It's not fancy or flashy, but what they do- they do extremely well. The service is outstanding. They handled some business meals with clients that I had with grace, skill and professionalism. When we went back for a fun meal later on a few days later, they were relaxed and fun yet still attentive and welcoming. They will also gladly speak English if you need that. The food is incredible. I can't say enough about it. Anything on their menu is amazing. Somehow, every time I've eaten here they manage to be even better than the outstanding meal I had with them the time before. It's like a gastronomic magic trick of some kind! The next time I'm in Milan, I fully plan on coming back and bringing friends. Don't miss out on eating here!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place, staff was extremely warm and friendly.
The service was fantastic, especially as a Canadian in Europe who experienced somewhat of a culture shock towards what i'll call the "hands-off" European approach to restaurant service. As everyone has said, the homemade burrata was to die for, and the unlimited bread with salt and olive oil was a great side to our meal. The gnocchi verdi was tasty, although a bit doughy for my taste, and the grilled meats were flavourful and everything was a generous portion. For dessert we had the tiramisu which was somewhat underwhelming after an italian vacation filled with great tiramisus, however we got complimentary cookies as well which were great, and overall everything was really tasty. 4* for the food and an extra star for the great service, especially in Italy, where the service has been really disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyThe food here was reasonably priced.
The waiter was very helpful and spoke English well. They had 2 types of gluten free pasta available, so I had the carbonara. Maybe I haven't had an authentic carbonara before... but the sauce was much eggy/yolk-ier than I was expecting. In general, pasta portions are generous. The table loved the burrata (very rich). My boyfriend enjoyed the meatloaf. They keep the table well stocked with grilled bread, and they were kind/conscious enough to bring me some rice cakes. If I went back, I think I would order off the daily specials menu - things on the other tables looked a bit better (especially something cooked in a clay pot...). Will still give it 4 stars since overall everyone was pretty happy and they were accommodating for gluten free. Also that burrata was damn good.
