The fried rice noodles with large shrimps taste good, but the overall portion is a little small
The first delicacy that comes to everyone's mind when coming to Singapore should be crabs. There are many choices for crab dishes here. It has been many years since we left Singapore again, and the price of crabs has long since increased. I didn’t do much research on the food prices and what I was eating when I visited Singapore this year. Maybe the surprise would be better than the expectation. With this premise in mind, I didn’t think it was delicious. I compared the dishes I had never tasted before and sorted out a few things I wanted to eat. The first thing that came to my mind was shrimp. If you want to talk about shrimps, Dagen The only thing that is not as luxurious as lobster is prawns. However, considering my wallet, I don’t have much money to eat lobster in Singapore, so I chose the latter. There is a reason why it is the prawn noodles from this famous restaurant. The Internet may be one of the reasons, but I think the main reason for the latter is that I also want to compare with the restaurant I ate near Chinatown the day before. That is, many tourists will visit the restaurant with many reviews, so the comparison is something It's shrimp. It was shrimp balls before but it's prawns this time. I was still extremely looking forward to coming to this store. Before I tasted it, I had to mention the twists and turns of the transportation process. As I believe many people know that Singapore will rain showers in the afternoon, I was a little lucky that I didn't bring an umbrella when I went out early this morning. At least it didn't rain in the afternoon, so we should be able to get through it safely in the evening. After the whole day's trip, I arrived at Somerset, a subway station close to the restaurant. I came out of Exit B and looked at the sky. The gloomy clouds looked like they were about to rain. I couldn't help but wonder if it would rain. Sure enough, there was no need to think too much. Yes, it rained just as I was thinking. Now, even though there is a hotel on the left near the exit, I have to walk from here to the restaurant. It took me a while without an umbrella. Basically Somerset Exit B or D are on the same side. It is recommended that you exit from Exit B to find it more easily. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to this store from near the subway station. It is recommended that friends who have no sense of direction can use their mobile phones to locate the location. When you come out, turn left and go straight to the front and then cross the road. The route is simply like an L shape. Basically, this store is easy to find. It is also on the main road. Although the store is not big, you can tell at a glance. There is a small Thai restaurant on the corner in front of them. I came to this restaurant around 6pm that day. When I arrived, it was pretty good. At least I could choose which table to sit at when ordering. Later, when the number of diners started to increase, I was glad that I came early. They were the first ones to pick up the food. The ordering and payment method means that each customer needs to order at the counter before sitting down. If you already know what you want to order, you can order directly. If you are a hesitant customer like me, you can first listen to what they recommend before making a decision. . If it’s your first time here, I guess you’ll be recommended the large prawn fried rice noodles with the biggest picture on the menu. They have two types: large prawns and large prawns. The difference is the size and price of the prawns, so I’m not sure. You can choose the big prawns, because if you have never eaten big prawns before, you will feel pressured to ask for 20 Singapore dollars. On this day, I hesitated and ordered fried rice noodles with big prawns and a cup of kopi (coffee with condensed milk). The drinks will be served first. While waiting, I look at how many tourists like me are around. Maybe later, tourists like me may be having a big meal at that moment. Finally, the food is served. , and they also come with a hot sauce. I really have to say that the hot sauce is great, mainly because it is very special. In fact, when I was eating it, I wanted to ask for more, but I just remembered how delicious it was. Their large shrimps are not whole but cut into halves, which is estimated to be 3. I didn’t count it carefully because the first thing I saw is that their rice noodles are fried in different ways. The main reason is that the rice noodles are moister. If you like dry rice noodles, I guess the number is 3. When I first saw it, I would put a question mark, would such a thing be delicious? At that moment, I also doubted it. At least when I saw the portion, I found that it was really not much. The portion of rice noodles was really not enough to make me full. If If you just want to be full, I would actually recommend their soup noodle dishes. To put it simply, their shrimps are better than the shrimp balls I had at that restaurant in Chinatown the day before. The shrimp balls there were big but ordinary. Maybe it was because they were frozen, so the freshness and sweetness of the shrimps couldn’t be tasted. , mainly because I feel that it has weight. As for the large shrimps in this restaurant, they can simply be described as feeling like grass shrimps in a smaller size. Even if they are not as fresh and sweet as freshly caught, at least they will feel slightly better without being frozen. In this regard, This is how I feel after eating. As for the ingredients of rice noodles, I think their appeal may be shrimps. In comparison, this dish cannot be described as seafood fried rice noodles. It is more like a pure meal. What you taste purely is the fusion of large shrimps and rice noodles. . For someone like me who just wants to eat to feel full, their portions are not enough. The biggest feeling I have is that the rice noodles are too wet. If there is too much water, it will feel like a wet rice dish. In comparison, Next, I began to understand that if you choose to order shrimp soup-type dishes, at least ordering a large snack will be better than fried rice noodles. This fried rice noodles is more of a dish that can be shared by two people rather than one person. My personal evaluation of this restaurant is that you can go and eat there. If nothing else, it’s relatively pure. The price is still a bit high from a tourist’s perspective like me, but from the perspective of a taster, you can still go and eat there. Let’s take a look. I’ll try their shrimp noodles next time when I have a chance to compare. Although I didn’t encounter crabs this time, I also encountered prawns, which was a bit of a surprise.
Be the first to ReplyGenerous portions
Although I had ordered the basic bowl of $6.80, they are quite generous with their sliced pork, fish cake and with 2 prawns. Soup is okay but too salty for my taste.
Be the first to ReplyPrawn noodles
Ordered prawn noodles. The bowl came with a good amount of noodles with 2 prawns, fish cake and a meat patty. I topped up with pork slices and vege. Prawns were fresh. The soup was lacking in the prawn flavour and too salty. I don't think the meat patty was necessary too, would prefer if they give me pork slices instead.
Be the first to ReplyGood Hee Mee ( Prawn noodle)
Another restaurant at a shop house at Killiney. A Michelin recognised resto serving different ways of prawn noodles ( Hee Mee). Ordered through an app their $6.80 regular soup prawn noodle. Extra Hee Zhou ( prawn cake) and their lime juice with salted plum as a beverage. The noodle tasted very good, great stock and generous amount of meat and prawns for the price. The Hee Zhou was piping hot and tasted good too. The lime juice was acceptable. Overall it was a nice meal and acceptable service and environment. The app took awhile to download as the signals are not very good. It takes some time to get used to the app.
Be the first to ReplyPrawn beehoon was delicious
Their brawn beehoon is really amazing. 16$ is quite expensive, but really worth trying. People complain it's too overpriced, but their beehoon is restaurant level quality. I'll go back for sure. Their normal prawn mee is nothing outstanding.

Bib gourmand new entrant
Newly-ushered in Bib Gourmand entrant Da Shi Jia Big Prawn Noodle’s name says it all. But also expect higher price tags since it bagged the new accolades. $6.80 is the lowest price you fork out for basic prawn noodle. The dry version is tossed in. dark sauce which is an unconventional take for the classic dish but nothing really knock out. The secret is in the broth, it’s superb and so rich you want a never-ending well of it. The other popular staple is the fried prawn roll. #eatstylishtravelstylish
Be the first to Replynot bad but not great
the place is nice - clean, air conditioned. the menu has a decent range of prawn noodle dishes which you can customise (size of prawns, types of noodles, additional ingredients like vegetables, meat, ribs), rice dishes and sides. we had the prawn noodles (small and medium prawns) a side dish of beancurd skin with prawns, and an apple juice. The prawn noodlea were ok but not great (not as good as the blanco court noodles which has a richer stock). the side dish was not bad. contained prawns inside was crispy on the outsidr. overall an above average dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyDecent prawn noodle
First visit to this place for lunch earlier in the week. Surprisingly popular and we were lucky to get a table. Pricing depends on the size of the prawns selected. Different types of mee available. No credit cards: cash or NETS only.
Be the first to ReplyThe dried prawn mee very delicious and the apple juice with plum very refreshing..must try
The dried prawn mee very delicious ..the apple juice with plum is delicious too..MUST TRY.
But the chillies needs more spicy..
Must try the fried white big prawn bee hoon !
Cooling place especially under the hot sun to come and eat the hot soupy prawn noodle. Prawn comes in size 5 different sizes that may cost you $5-$116 per bowl! You can add in spare ribs or noodle as well.. you can chose the type of noodles you prefer too... but only comment was the soup is not that tasty and blend! However the wok fry big prawn bee hoon was quite good and comes with 2 sizes of prawn! $16.8 and $19.8.. lots of lard and the been hoon stewed with perfect taste. There’s sambal you can add on in your pace and enjoy the spiciness !
Be the first to ReplyGood prawn noodle
Flavourful prawn noodle. Preferred the dry version better. Shrimp prawn roll was great. Green apple with sour plum is good too. Over all satisfied with the meal. However portion can be bigger. Price doesnt not justified with the portion served.
