I had gone to an Italian restaurant close to a theater a while ago and thought this was the same restaurant. Sadly, it was not. The tables are crowded together. We ordered meatballs, Caprese salad, and a Truffle Pizza. The tomatoes in the salad were tasteless and like cardboard. The meatballs (4 of them for $14) were about the size of a golf ball. The meat had gristle in it, the sauce was tasteless, and they were lukewarm. The "pizza" was a 12" flatbread with a 1" to 1 1/2" bare edge around the entire pizza (remember, it's only 12", which leaves a lot of bare pizza). There were minuscule pieces of mushrooms along with some chopped onions. There was a 4% service charge because we didn't pay cash. It was extremely overpriced for mediocre food. We would have had a tastier meal going elsewhere for "a slice" or even getting street meat. The wait staff was good.
Be the first to ReplyFood was amazing and authentic.
Service was great, our servers were just the nicest. The music was probably my favorite part, and added to the entire experience.

This place does not look like much on the outside, but the brunch food was delicious and the location is great. The bottomless Bloody Mary was tasty and a bargain. We would not hesitate to go back.
Be the first to ReplyMy daughter and I were there around 1pm on 3/11/2023.
We were seated at the tiniest of tables although it wasn't busy and other 2 party people had bigger tables but whatever. We each order an entree at $25$+ and I also ordered a salad. Food came out quickly but no salad, so I obviously pointed that fact out and asked for it to be removed from the bill. After the server checked on the other tables around us but excluded us I was annoyed. Our check was brought to us but a coffee drink was added that we never ordered so I pointed that out. I had an iced tea and my daughter had water plus the two entrees. He gave us a new check and lo and behold there were 2 iced teas but I only had one + what I thought would be a refill. Was told there are no free refills for iced teas. WHAT? Never have been charged for that in my entire life. So $9.00 for 2 small glasses of iced tea. This was not stated in the menu or said when I asked for more tea. Anyway the food was ok but service sucked and I wish it hadn't been our last dining experience in NYC. I hate when places take advantage of people. Highly discourage anyone from dining here when there's so many other worthy options in the area.

My husband and I dined upstairs before seeing a show and were treated like family. The brick walls, old Italian music, and rustic tables created a warm and quaint atmosphere. We have never experienced such welcoming and attentive staff! Our primary server, Leo, was engaging, flattering, and accommodating. Two other servers refilled our water and checked in often. All were polite and had perfect timing. The food was delicious. My husband enjoyed the special of the day, which was black linguini with shrimp and mussels and a fresh tomato sauce. I had the eggplant parmigiano that came with a side of spaghetti with fresh grated parmesan cheese added tableside. We shared a Caesar salad. All of it was authentic and delicious. I ended my meal with a homemade limoncello, and my husband had an Irish coffee. We will return when we are in the area again!
Be the first to ReplyGreat lunch before the matinee.
Farfalle with sausage and broccoli rabe was tasty, and my friend said the rigatoni with Bolagnese was the best she's ever had. A nice house sangiovese. Great and attentive staff.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was good and fairly priced.
The service was attentive but not consistent with an assigned waiter. Also, the ambiance was nicely decorated but extremely loud and you were packed in closely with your neighbors.

Surrounded by new construction in the works (welcome to NYC), one walks into an oasis and delicious southern Italian cookin, a step-up from Grandma's 20th century faire. Arrive 2 hours before your show to people-watch at the window tables for two or (weather-permittin) outside seating. Larger parties may reserve an entire upstairs room! Was so good to be back here today, with attentive staff and the overall great experience.

Wonderful food, reasonable priced with wonderful location in theater district. Have eaten there more times than I can count and ALWAYS had a great meal and service. Leonardo is the BEST waiter.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a wonderful meal.
The people were friendly and didn't try push us out. We arrived early and they seated us as they had a table. We were so pleased we chose them to eat before our show.

Delicious! I had one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had - flavorful and creamy! The truffle pasta and Penne with Vodka sauce were great. The place itself is a little small, but the staff is very attentive.

I made reservations for 8 people with the "heads-up" that there could be more and they were just wonderful as we grew to 16 they calmly and professionally added tables and made us feel very welcome while doing it. The wait staff was friendly and professional, our food was delicious, I had the burger and the secret sauce was so good, and everyone commented on how much we are looking forward to returning. There are a very welcome addition to the neighborhood and I would highly suggest you stop in for a meal.

Stopped in about 10:30 on a Saturday morning and had no wait to be seated. Service was excellent. Very good coffee. I ordered the stuffed French toast and my husband got two eggs over medium with sausage and breakfast potatoes. Everything came out hot and tasty. My husband especially liked the sausage which he said had a savory taste. It was pricey though- almost $50 for the two of us. But that's New York and it is very close to Times Square. We would certainly go back.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Italian atmosphere.
Upstairs was a lovely view. Wait staff was extremely attentive! Definitely recommend, especially if you're going to the Al Herschfield Theatre, it's just a short walk across the street.

Very great service and staff, we came here before our broadway show and it was perfect walking distance and service was quick so we were able to make it out in time. Food was fantastic, great wine and cocktail selections, and they were really accomodating (gave my brother a free upgrade when they ran out of the lasagna he originally ordered.) Would definitely go here again!

Daniela's is one of the places I frequent the most when I see Broadway shows. I have never had a bad meal there and I love taking people here because they're always impressed by the food. It has a gorgeous atmosphere and the employees are always very kind. I love Italian food and Daniela's has some of the best sauce that I've ever had. Their Bolognese is delightful. So creamy and delicious, with perfectly al dente pasta. The meatball appetizer is so delectable that my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I wish I could take a pot of it home. Their mixed green salad and minestrone soup were pretty flavorless on my most recent trip, we had to add a lot of salt and pepper to make it better but the pasta and meatballs more than made up for it. They also have a wonderful hot chocolate and a very tasty and decadent chocolate mousse cake that I enjoy. If you love Italian food this is a great stop and I'll definitely be back!

Fabulous neighborhood Italian where they make everything fresh. We had the Primola salad to start... my veal was fabulous. I highly recommend this local favorite with the personalities that go along with it.

Stopped here before a Broadway afternoon show and it was not very busy. The menu is standard fare - brunch items seemed a bit to be lacking flavor, but presentation of plate is quite lovely. The pizza here looks quite delicious, so I do think I'll try that next time. I ordered the corned beef hash and was a bit underwhelmed with the flavor and freshness of the dish. The eggs were also a bit over cooked. The staff is quite friendly and very apt to help. For the proximity to shows, I think this is a place to consider to stop in for drinks and a quick bite at a fair price.

We needed a quick meal before a 7 pm Broadway show - but of course, not fast food! We stepped inside, said "we have 30 minutes, max" and they got us out in 30 minutes! A glass of wine and two small meals (soup - delicious, and fried calamari). So convenient, good food (I wish we took a cannoli, to go!) and friendly, quick service. We'd like to go back again when we have more time.

Upfront, It's important to know I had bariatric surgery and so I am only capable of eating smaller portions.I requested a reasonable accommodation (half-portion of a regular meal, as I was not able to take leftovers since I was seeing a show after) and had a medical card explaining my condition. They told me that they were not able to accommodate my request and I was quite upset with this because I had my eye on a particular chicken dish that a friend raved about to me. Instead, I ended up having to get an appetizer sized plate of meatballs, which were okay, if a bit unsatisfying. It's kind of stupid on their end because I was willing to pay a slightly reduced price from the regular (certainly more than what my meatballs cost) in order to have the meal, but the manager still refused.Oh well - guess I'm crossing this restaurant off my "places to eat before a show list"!

Right in the heart of NYC's theatre district, this is a great spot to grab a quick bite before a show. I got the gnocchi, which included cherry tomatoes, evoo, radicchio, and tomato sauce. The creaminess of the gnocchi was nicely complemented by the acidity of the sauce. The dish itself was definitely tomato forward, with not much presence from the other ingredients. The portions were decently sized, about what you would expect from a nice Italian restaurant. The wait staff were very attentive, and although the restaurant was incredibly busy our food arrived in less than 20 minutes. I also ordered a glass of the Riesling, which was light, sweet, and very refreshing. The food was a little pricey, but that is expected so close to Times Square.

Came here for bottomless brunch with a Pulsd deal and had a great time! The restaurant is pretty intimate and. It very big. The service was a little on the slow side but we still had a fun time because we drank pretty slow ourselves too. The truffle pizza was pretty average - good but not very memorable. The French toast stood out to me the most. I loved the berries on top of the soft and crunchy bread. Great time and would recommend!
