We loved this place! Cute former-house-turned-restaurant.
We sat on the porch and had a lovely dinner. Best Lobster Roll I've ever had. We also shared some Blue Crab rice. Unique flavors and delicious. Glad we tried it. Had some very fresh oysters for dessert. 100% would recommend.
Be the first to ReplyLoved dining on the porch on a beautiful Spring day.
Service was spot on, always there when we needed them an personable too. And food was fabulous!
Be the first to ReplyFood was alright.
Found hair in my drink. Decided we did not want to eat our mains there when I found the hair, so we only ordered appetizers. Once the waitress found out we were only ordering drinks and appetizers, she started to have an attitude with us. My friend ordered an espresso martini and asked for baileys in it but was not informed it would be an upcharge Got charged a hospitality charge for a subpar hospitality. Still gave a tip because I don't believe in not tipping my servers, but now that I have left I don't believe the amount I left was deserved. If any of it.

Super cute spot for oysters! We were on the hunt for raw oysters for Sunday brunch. I made a reservation for this place only a couple of days beforehand. We arrived at 11 am when they opened. Our table was in the upstairs dining room with a view of Calhoun street below. The porch seating was also very inviting and would be great in nice weather. Our server was very attentive and helpful. We had some questions about the menu and the oyster selections. We started with the tuna tartare. The seasoning was excellent and I really loved the puffed rice crunchy bits. The old bay chips were very crisp and well seasoned, an excellent accompaniment to our oysters. We had several different types of oysters on the half shell. Th selection is good and I really liked the sizing explanation on the menu. If you are trying raw oysters for the first time, it will be easier to figure out where to start. The little signs on our oyster selections when they arrived were so cute! It is easy to figure out which is which, even if you're distracted when the server brings your oysters over. This is definitely for seafood lovers. Love the focused menu and it was a perfect fit for what we wanted.
Be the first to ReplyWe only went for oysters.
They took about 40 minutes to come out and one of them was bad. Don't go. Bad quality and the tab was $100, for only a dozen oysters and a glass of wine
Be the first to ReplyWe loved being able to walk here.
Our server,Madison was super friendly and gave good recs. I have an allergy so my dishes had to be modified which I appreciated. The spicy Tuna Tartare was excellent. Had a nice kick to it and was well balanced. I had the octopus and it was okay but that's because they had to remove ingredients. My peeps had the Steamboats and everyone raved about the Lobster bisque. The ambiance is lacking but the food was good!

What an amazing find! Honestly, it was one of the very best meals we've had since moving to SC a little over a year ago. We had oysters (the Oysters Delaney was my favorite bite). We also had Spicy Tuna Tartare, Spanish Octopus, & Blue Crab Rice with Grilled Shrimp - all fabulous! The cocktails were also on point, and the service was amazing.

They check all boxes for ambiance, super cute inside a historic home. Lovely aesthetic. The server was very attentive however, she forgot our tuna tartare which came with our meal as opposed to as an appetizer. The food was again, just ok. The peel and eat shrimp were incredibly overcooked and mushy plus the seasoning just wasn't very good. The tuna tartare above was overly spicy, like inedible for me. My companion had the grilled fish tacos and he stated the fish was also overcooked. I tried the tuna Bahn Mi and did enjoy that very much. The in house desserts are very good and I would certainly give them a try. Worth a try but not worth the hype.

We went here because it was an easy walk from our hotel, but what a great find! We split a salad and then I had the daily catch (tile fish) which was delicious. My husband had the hangar steak which he very much enjoyed. Service was great, even as it got busier. We sat in the bar area, which got noisy, kind of regretting not sitting on the porch. (In December! Hey, we're from New England.) We very much recommend!

The food was good the service was great! We sat on the patio ,they had heaters it was nice. I enjoyed the sangria and the roasted oysters. The hush puppies were good. My entree was the fried flounder with malt vinegar fries.

Came strictly for OYSTERS! We are oyster connoisseur who have experienced some of the best oysters so if something is a little off we can taste it fast. Delaney oysters were SO fresh, not too briny but tasteful. We also had a Ceaser salad that was delicious, had a hint of citrus which was very different then any other Ceaser we had, it match perfectly with the oysters. We sat on the patio because they were playing good music! Location: 5/5Atmosphere: 4/5Service: 4/5Food presentation: 5/5Food: 5/5Return: Yes

Ok. Not great. Food was good. Wait staff polite. Just feels overpriced for what you're getting.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was delicious.
Oysters were on point. The cocktails were excellent. The restaurant is small. That creates a great atmosphere of coziness yet may present a wait especially for a large group. Fantastic for a date:)Enjoy.

My wife & I just stumbled on this while walking back to our B & B after visiting Fort Sumter. Noticed 6 other people walking toward this little house with an Oyster sign and decided to give it a try. Fresh, delicious, creative seafood. We started with some raw oysters, then we shared three "small" plates, a plate of the best Brussels sprouts that I've ever had, a plate of spicy shrimp ajillo with French bread, and a plate of roasted oysters with horseradish, ham and crispy onions. We didn't have any room for desert, everything was so good. YMMV, I understand that their menu constantly changes and maybe we lucked out, but the place was packed by the time we left so other people in Charleston must also appreciate it.

I've been here maybe five times? Definitely worth the visit and tonight was no exception. Absolutely fresh, fastidiously clean oysters that never disappoint, the Caesar salad is always my favorite, large enough to share and tonight we had the crispy fish, which was delicious and perfectly prepared Flounder. all of the service staff were wonderful, they always are, and tonight was no different but I will say that our server of the evening, Maverick, was beyond exceptional, and took care of all of our needs in the most professional way, truly OnPoint, on top of things, friendly and knowledgeable, he delivered service of perfection and made our five star experience even better.:-)

Be the first to ReplyEverything was aesthetically beautiful!!! From the entrance
Everything was aesthetically beautiful!!! From the entrance to the restaurant, the service, the decor, the details of every plate, napkin, curtains to match the decor... southern heaven with a twist of provincial elegance. The food was delicious with minor hiccups...the citrus crudo tasted more olive oily than citrus. I wanted an explosion of citrus but got heavy oil instead. The calamari needed a little bit longer in the fryer as it was a tad chewy. Other than that the caviar service was great, the oysters were delicious, the scallops were seared on both sides and the crab rice was good too...the dessert...wow! Can't wait to dine here again!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is wonderful in every aspect.
The vibe, the decor, the staff, and the food. Ohhhhh, the food. Our waiter (absolutely lovely guy) chose a sampler of oysters for us, and we ordered even more. Dressed or plain; impeccable and fresh. From appetizers to the best flan I have ever had, everything was just so damn good. Worth the drive if you're within 2 hours of Charleston. Really.
Be the first to ReplyThis is hands down the best oysters in Charleston.
If you enjoy really flavorful, high quality oysters then Delaney's is it. The service is spot on and the cocktails are gold.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a treat.
Our server was knowledgeable about ever aspect of our meal. We ordered oysters from all the different places they were getting them. The food, the presentation were all over just exceptional. As a former fine dining server, it was a treat. The view from the balcony was relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you for our lovely evening.

Yet another amazing meal at Delaney! We brought our college aged son with us at the start of his winter break and shared some new dishes as well as some favorites.Still one of the best seafood restaurants in Charleston. Never disappoints.

Staff was very pleasant. We found a seat in the bar; my martini was fantastic. Our food was flavorful, different flavors than I would normally eat but excellent.I highly recommend this spot. The oysters were phenomenal and everything we ate was spot on.
