Be the first to ReplyGreat service, very attentive team.
We had an amazing time, it was our first time trying out Ethiopian cuisine. Good quality food and wonderful ambience.
Be the first to ReplyI was able to order easily online.
It was ready to go when I picked it up and kept on the walk home and when I reheated the next day. The meat was great and had the perfect amount of spiciness. I was able to have enough for dinner and the next day, which was nice. The only downside was the injera the Flatbread. It was so limey, and it ended up overpowering the food. I'm not sure if it was accurate taste, so I want to go back and try more items.

Absolutely love this place! The food is amazing and the customer service is equally as amazing. They do reservations or walk in. Definitely recommend the lentil Sambueza. It comes out an amazing sauce that I dream about constantly. They also have great cocktails!
Be the first to ReplyGreat quality food.
A little expensive, but on the whole, the food was flavorful and high quality. I thought the flavors could've been a little stronger, but I really loved the injera with my Demera Messob. I got it with the spicy chicken, beef, and mushrooms, and the combination of the three was pretty great. My favorite was the spicy chicken, as the beef and mushrooms were both a little lacking in flavor. The service was great, and the cashier was super nice. They accidentally made my order dine in instead of to go, but it was all good in the end. Great food, great people.
Be the first to ReplyDemera has the best Ethiopian food we've ever had.
We usually order the chefs special and are never disappointed. Spices are outstanding and service is exceptional.

The service is over the top wonderful and the team is incredibly kind and attentive. I am a visitor to the area and haven't had Ethiopian cuisine in far too long. One of the folks joining me had never experienced it and was absolutely dazzled by the experience. Cozy, warm and inviting. Low blood sugar me tried to explain the lack of silverware by waving the injera at her and saying "this is your fork." Probably won't live that down any time soon. Haha.Onto the food. Fantastic. We did the sambussa/ambasa appetizer and the bere bere sauce was good enough to drink by the cup. Then we did the 3/3 plate: siga wot, siga alicha, doro tibs, kik alicha, gomen, and tikle gomen. Everything was amazing. Can't wait to return next time I'm in the neighborhood. Wonderful experience.

All I can tell you is, everything here is handled beautifully here, from the decor, the service, and especially, to the food and drinks. Entering the restaurant, you immediately see that the setting is elegant, refined, but not snobby. This could definitely be a date night place, or the place you celebrate special occasions. For me, just eating at Demera is a special occasion. The menu has something for everyone -- omnis, vegetarians and vegans. At my most recent visit, in fact, our party of three included one meat-eater, one vegetarian, and one vegan (me). The fact that Demera actually has several vegan options is very smart. It was my birthday, and my friends said, pick a restaurant where you can eat. Very considerate, right? And so I brought my friends here.Vegetarian friend and I shared a $23 vegan platter that had all the vegan entrees. That was a good amount for a couple of middle-aged women. The meat eater had fish. We all loved our food. Even though we were there during restaurant week, service kept up with the demands. We never felt like we were forgotten or had to wait a very long time.I can't say enough good things about Demera. Do yourself a favor and book a table there soon. You'll thank me.

I had never had Ethiopian food before here, so I can't speak to its authenticity (however the owner is an Ethiopian woman so I can't imagine it's not authentic!) but I do know it's delicious. We like doing the Messob and just letting them pick for us. The coffee is delicious too.
