Great Food, Hyped too nuch?
I guess this place got Hyped up so much and ive ordered from goldbelly to have a variety of buns shipped that when i finally got to the restaurant, i thought it was great not the best. I order pork & crab xlb, it was good, it almost melts in your mouth. I also ordered pork & shrimp shumaiโฆalso good. I guess my expectation was so high, i hyped it too much too that i left feeling like it was just ok. Id still recommend to try and maybe next time, iโll order more dishes

Be the first to ReplyExcellent food as always
Got in with less than 30 minutes wait on Friday at 12:30 for 3 people! I was shocked! But the Xiao long bao took a while to come out! Our waiter was super and we got out of there quickly! We were in a rush.
Be the first to ReplyLove at First Bite!
After experiencing the Xiao Long Bao at Ding Tai Fung's Dubai locations, I knew I had to bring my parents here to experience the ultimate soup dumpling. The dumplings were served piping hot and flavourful. We thoroughly enjoyed our dumplings alongside an assortment of wontons, rice, and vegetables. The in house teas are delicious too. While some might disagree with the waitlist system or not think that these are as good as the international locations, I am glad that my family had the opportunity to dine here and create memories!
Be the first to ReplyFor fresh dim sum lovers
The first trying Din Tai Fung was in Singapore and myself and my family absolutely loved it! weโve tried this chain multiple times but are first timers trying in America. We were lucky to have searched and found one in Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara so we made a reservation for lunchtime. first arriving the place was very busy, there were queues for both takeaway and ordering in so I would definitely book in advance to save time! We ordered a number of things: From their signature dishes we ordered the crab and pork xiao long Bao that came with 10 pieces. They were nicely made and very delicious and will always be my go to order when having dim sum especially from here!! ** If youโre not a fan of crab or anything fishy tasting in general I would go for their signature pork xiao buns, they are such as lovely!! The steamed buns were also very nice, they come with two pieces each, we tried the vegetarian buns (which were my favourite), the chicken buns, and the pork buns were also nice, and for dessert i would definitely recommend the red bean buns, they are sweet tasting and a perfect alternative to your everyday desserts, we ordered 4 pieces of these to finish off our meal. We also tried two different types on wonton soup, one with vegetable pork and one vegan wonton soup. Both were lovely but if your palate is more on the meaty side go for the vegetable pork. For a first time try we ordered the truffle pork xiao long buns which were surprisingly lovely (if youโre not keen on truffle like myself) second was the fish dumplings which were made of cod! These were amazing! they were very tasteful and fresh. There was not an overpowering smell or taste of โfishinessโ, I highly recommend! And third was the spicy shrimp and pork wontons, personally these were not my favourite, and sort of odd tasting but it was nicely presented and the wonton pastry was fresh to taste. Finally we ordered some vegetables to go with the dim sum, and I do personally think that the chains in Singapore were much better at cooking their vegetables to taste and texture. The Taiwanese cabbage was my favourite out of the vegetables we ordered, it was nice and sweet and the portion was good. We expected our order of the sautรฉed broccoli to be Chinese broccoli but it wasnโt. They were also undercooked and so was very crunchy to eat. And the portion sautรฉed bok Choy was also generous but unfortunately they were very very bland and some were also undercooked , these are usually full of flavour and are always a family favourite to eat. However the overall experience was good, I would just say that I have tasted better vegetables in other chains in Asia and that the pork tastes slightly more different over here than it did over there.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible waitlist system
The resturant was packed and we had to wait to get into the bar WAITLIST. When it was our turn, one person from our party went to the restroom so the hostess Angelica let the party behind me to join the โwaitlistโ before us. And then out of nowhere, three guys popped up and joined the waitlist ahead of us. I understand why everyone has to be present to be seated. But donโt understand why they have to if just to join the waitlist. If I cannot โwaitโ for the waitlist, then make it a policy and let use know. Not be telling us we can first and then say we canโt.
Be the first to ReplyFood was not as good as some of the ones in Asia but service was good
The food was not as good as the ones in Asia, but I don't think that is not their fault. The pork taste different there. The service at this one was similar to that of the one in Hong Kong which is better than the one in Taipei and Malaysia.
I would take certain guests here.
The best soup dumplings
The best soup dumplings in the entire world. I have eaten at Din Tai Fung in China, Taiwan, Thailand, and the US, and I went out of my way on a trip to California to get here. The chocolate xiao long bao are heavenly!
Be the first to ReplySkip the line, go for the bar for instant seating!
The food was as excellent as always and sitting at the bar has definitely its perks: the wait is at best a few minutes, you get your drinks asap and can enjoy watching those who think a table is a better deal... Always worth a repeat and I am glad to see service improved since last time.
Be the first to ReplyEvery Dish Was Delicious!
Absolutely the best dumplings!!! Every dish was delicious--try the sautรฉed string bean with garlic, and be sure to have the Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Boa for dessert! We liked how each dish came out separately so we paced ourselves and enjoyed each flavor.
Reservations are highly recommended--they are always packed! We were seated immediately at our reserved time. The staff worked great as a team and all were very professional and friendly.
To start I will say the food
To start I will say the food is tasty, but pricey. We continue to eat there because the service was good. Yesterday we ordered take out. It was late which is not a big deal. The lady handed me my rather large order and told me it was all good and checked and sent me on my way from the middle of the line. When I got home I found five dishes were missing!!! I tried to call. No phone to call at all. No way to return to the shop as they would have been closed by the time we got there. They said they had no one to answer phones. Then I called in the morning and they said they I would have to talk to corporate guest services. How are they going to help Me get my order re-delivered in time for my daughterโs birthday. Horrific customer service. Donโt eat there.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food but a long wait. Prepare for well over an hour.
We knew the wait was going to be long, even later on a Saturday evening. Our service was excellent, the food arrives very quickly, prices are very good, just watch for a few items that can be much more expensive than most of the menu.
Be the first to ReplyBest dumplings!
You can find it in the mall (Valley Fair), and usually there's a waiting list. But it's totally worth it. The dumplings were to die for.
I got the Pork Xiao Long Bao dumplings and the Pork Hot and Sour soup. Delicious!!!
Great food and service
Once seated the food came out very quickly and the wait staff was excellent. The only down side was the long wait

Been here several times and doesn't fail to satisfy my craving for Chinese food. The dishes they serve here are simply amazing that's why there is always a wait for a table but it's just worth the wait and they go by pretty fast. This is a Taiwanese base franchise that is all over California. If you like Chinese/Asian food you will simply fall in love with this place. Service is fast and prices are just way too cheap for the quality of food they serve. I was with my wife in London recently and was pleasantly surprised that they have just opened in Covent Garden. You simply have to try this place I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!!
Be the first to ReplyNice place to eat dumplings
This was my first trip to a Din Tai Fung. My friend got us the reservation 2 weeks in advance, so we didn't have to deal with the long wait beforehand. Although people wait outside, the restaurant itself feels calm and is spacious. The menu is easy to order from and dishes come out as they are ready. Service was okay. Dumplings were pretty good, but I'm not sure I would wait 2 hours for them - there are a lot of places in the bay area with good options. But I'm glad I went once to see what all the hype was about.
