Great drinks, good food.
Service good. Ambience, great! Don't hesitate! Parking ok, just drive around.
Be the first to ReplyI used to LOVE Don Antonio's.
I'm withholding one star until they bring back taco Wednesdays! Please, let us have taco Wednesday back!
Be the first to ReplyService is the best! I love the food and margaritas.
Cadillac margaritas are my favorite. The whole restaurant is comfortable and you should check out the cave when you are there.

One of new go to Mexican restaurants! Don Antonio's is a lively restaurant on pico. When you walk in, you see that the restaurant is divided into two sections. One half has a bar where the other half is mainly just the restaurant. The staff is really nice, greeted us and gave us the option of sitting wherever we felt comfortable. For food, I ordered the fish tacos plate and a Cadillac margarita. The fish tacos were cooked to perfection and it was such a large size that I had to take portions home. The drinks had just the right amount of alcohol in them and were delicious. This is the perfect spot for a date or even to just kick back with some friends.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food! Great service.
I'd eat here once a week if I could! I've never had a bad meal.
Be the first to ReplyAfter years of curiosity piqued by the ever-present weekend
After years of curiosity piqued by the ever-present weekend queues outside Don Antonio's on Pico, I finally took the plunge. Let's just say, I wasn't just satisfied; I was absolutely astonished, particularly by their refried beans. Honestly, they serve the best refried beans I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. It's not often that a side dish steals the show, but in this case, it takes the spotlight and deserves a standing ovation. While some menu items might not hit the mark for everyone, the refried beans alone are worth the wait. I suggest doing a bit of homework before you go: ask questions and look at pictures, especially if you're particular about sauce on your dishes. A bit of preparation can turn a good dining experience into a great one at Don Antonio's. This spot has quickly become my new go-to for those cravings that only Mexican cuisine can satisfy. A word to the wise, though: they are closed on Mondays, and, as luck would have it, that seems to be when my cravings hit their peak. Plan accordingly to avoid disappointment. In summary, if you've been on the fence about trying Don Antonio's, consider this a sign to give it a go. The refried beans alone are a game-changer and the drinks are AMAZING!

The carne asada was good as well and the shrimp and chicken fajitas. Chips are good and so are the flour tortillas. The margarita was ok and I was not a fan of the rice and beans. Service was great, we sat outside nice ambiance and it was nice not crowded yet we went for early dinner on a Saturday
Be the first to ReplyI don't often leave reviews, rather I never leave reviews.
However the date night dining experience my girlfriend and I had at Don Antonio's was FANTASTIC! We order the cucumber margaritas and the beef fajitas for two. Our waitress was fantastic, as soon as we sat down we ordered within 5 minutes, margaritas came out 2 minutes later, food was out after 10 minutes. Personally I've never had good Mexican food, if you asked me yesterday what I was craving it certainly would've been from another region of the world. Rice and beans vs. steak and vegetables???? (you get the picture). Well Don Antonio's completely changed my mind and we will be back. Anyone wondering why this place isn't 5/5 stars, read the less than reviews.... They don't make sense! Best restaurant I've been to in LA post pandemic. Other restaurants need to take notes!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food, friendly service, quirky atmosphere.
We'll be back for more margaritas
Be the first to ReplyI ordered the carnitas chimichanga.
There was a lot of meat in it, but I thought it was just alright. Overall, I would give the food a 3, but for the amazing service and kind staff, Don Antonio's deserves a 4.

I like this place a lot, but can't help but compare to my other 2 more favorite spots in the hood, Gilberts and La Talpa.Their salsa is the bomb and different than the other 2, love the garlickiness of it.I had a potato taco and a cheese enchilada. Lunch special is spot on from a price perspective, but I like the potato taco and enchilada better and gilberts and the enchilada better at la talpa. What I do love here are the comfy booths, that's reason enough to choose this one over the other 2. They also have solid frozen margaritas, I had a mango that wasn't too sweet relative to others I've had.
Be the first to ReplyWent here for the first time today to celebrate my birthday.
The potato taco, rice/beans, margaritas, chips/salsa, and service was perfection. Will definitely be back!
Be the first to ReplyYes Don's has been there for 40 something years.
After reading the reviews about the food and drinks I decided to go there for a quick lunch. The food is just what I expected, decent. I noticed they have a good locals following. I've had better carnitas elsewhere. The cantina sign and façade makes it look really inviting. I was lucky to get a parking spot on their property from the ally way behind,3 spots total. Enter the restaurant and the old school charm, has left the building. The booths in the bar area is probably the best option. Best meaning the, least depressing. The room I sat in looked like it was a muerto tomb. What were they thinking with this dark grey sprayed on stone everywhere? Cave like feeling, depressingly unappetizing, a cenote without water to float around in? NAILED IT!The people who wrote the good reviews surely just keep their head down and stuff their face.

Wait staff is good, food is okay, ambiance is a little kitschy but it's why I've been back a few times.
Be the first to ReplyThis is another long-standing neighborhood fixture.
Great food, great atmosphere and, mostly, great people. Everyone there is friendly...but...the #1 guy there is behind the bar ...CARLOS. Makes the best margaritas. My fav is a skinny margarita. Don't like ''em too sweet. Carlos squeezes a whole lime into these and the are perfecto!!!!Food: I have a few favorite. A wet machaca burrito. Spenser steak tacos. Carne asada torta. (Even their fries (which you won't see ordered) are amazing. Carnitas. And moreDefinitely worth a visit!
Be the first to ReplyI happen to come across this place by driving by.
I ordered the chili vede and it was delicious. Our server Jorge, was on point. Making sure everything we ordered met there standards and checked on us for drinks etc. Over all I'll definitely be back and recommend this old school ethnic food.
Be the first to ReplyIYKYK!! This place is fire.
. if you want bomb authentic enchiladas, ceviche and some delicious fish/asada tacos then this is the place you wanna try out also their chips and salsa is super addicting (no joke) we always get full before our entrees so becareful with that lol. Their service is the best they always go above and beyond for hubby and I (vip stauts) never disappoints us. Most definitely a must try!
Be the first to ReplyGo early or wait in line! Come hungry and thirsty too.
Funky cave like dining room, but your not there for atmosphere. Order the shrimp fajita and you'll bring home leftovers!Always my favorite, service is friendly and attentive. Great place to fill up!

New Favorite Mexican restaurant in west LA!! The vibes are so authentic & the wait staff are super friendly. The food and drinks are so good and reasonably priced for the amount you get. There was no drink menu which was odd... so we had to ask the waiter the prices. Regular margarita was $11Jumbo margarita (20oz) was $14I got the super burrito with shrimp and it was massive and super yummy. Definitely will be getting it again. We also got the queso fundido which was tasty but greasy.. Overall the atmosphere was great and I will be coming back again in the (near) future.I would consider getting reservations because they had a 30 min wait at 5:30-6pm on a Saturday.FYI - There is no parking lot but there is paid street parking and it's free after 6pm.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent peach margarita.
Am voting only on that. An extremely vegetarian UNfriendly place, alas. I called in advance, and was told that the tortillas were made without lard, the enchilada sauce was made without chicken stock, and that the beans were made without lard. Upon arrival, the waiter (thank God!) informed us that the beans *were* made with lard, the enchilada red sauce was made with chicken stock, and the tortillas were made without lard...but were fried in lard to soften them. The vegetarians in our group had to leave and go elsewhere to eat. (The meat-eaters who stayed, however, said that the food was very good.)
Be the first to ReplyMuchas gracias, Don Antonio! I don't like Chile Rellenos.
Turns out I've only had bad ones til now. Great service, a little pricey but you get huge portions. Their two item combos, $16, are a great deal. The salsa is quite spicy but we were undaunted cuz their chips are fresh and light. You can always get a margarita, though they are weak. They were busy for dinner on a rainy night. My friends recommended here for happy hour but they no longer have that. They do have lunch specials until 3pm for $11.We celebrated a friend's birthday with a Mexican custard dessert that I didn't like but my friends did. The interior is dark but still welcoming with many cozy booths. We were stumped by most of the trivia questions on their napkins. The outdoor is festive and great for warmer nights. We found street parking easily. Interestingly it's right next to another Mexican place. Would come again for the service and convenient location.
Be the first to ReplyReally good food and awesome service.
One of the greatest spot for Mexican food. The food arrives looking really good and it taste as awesome as it looks. The nachos especials are so good! Must leave some space for the Xango dessert.

They have certainly stepped it up post-pandemic! Staff seems happy to be working. They are SUPER friendly and attentive. Food was good. Fajitas were the star of the night for sure. If you can hold off the appetizers and chips to leave more room for the food. Enjoy a blended margarita to round out the meal. Delicious!!!

Jesus and benito are fabulous Do in top of things Extremely efficient kind response I have a tentative really made our experience your lovely thank you so much for having such outstanding employees
Be the first to ReplyI wandered in and sat at the bar for lunch.
Super friendly bartenders. These guys hustle! Lots of different things going on and work to do but you are never off their radar. I ordered a few margaritas (my favorite drink in the world!). Delish! Loved their chips and salsa. The chips are homemade and are a thicker, flavorful chip, as opposed to the common thinner chip. I finished off with the chille relleno, so yummy! I will def be back!Since I was alone, I found a free meter (Sunday) for parking, though it was the only one I found and it was only 12 noon for lunch. I suggest trying them out!!
