Great Food and Great Atmosphere
The food was fantastic and so was the wait staff. I probably had the best steak that I have had on a long time. It is a little pricey, but not terrible. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Be the first to ReplyNice View. So, so food.
Dukes was okay. The food was so, so. Kids had the buffet which was basic. Some cold salads were a bit warm. Other hot foods were only warmish. For the cost of the buffet it wasn’t worth it. The beach view was nice. Our server was friendly and efficient. I would try other places for the cost of Dukes.
Be the first to ReplyA “Must Do” in Waikiki!
We went to Duke’s on a Sunday afternoon and we had a great time! Great service, great live music, and delicious food! Highly recommend!!
Be the first to ReplyQuite good!
Lovely atmosphere and very good food. The service was excellent and they had live music in the afternoon which was appreciated. The drinks were well-made and overall no complaints. I suggest the macadamia nut hummus!
Be the first to ReplyWhy weren't the mai tais better?
I had been told that drinks (mai tais in particular) at sunset at Duke's were a "must" when on Oahu. I like a good mai tai and have mixed my own at home. The mai tai I got at Duke's was poor. There was a bit of a fruit flavor, but the predominant flavor was neither rum nor fruit but kerosene. Perhaps they've switched to a very cheap rum? I went back there another night with some friends. I gave the mai tai another try. I had a different bartender than the first night and had high hopes for a better drink. Nope. Kerosene again. A friend who tried a sip of my mai tai characterized it as "undrinkable." If this is your claim to fame, Duke's, you really need to do it a little better. We got food and it was decent. One disappointment (beyond the bizarrely bad mai tais) was the fact that the barrier surrounding the patio seating means that, even though you managed to get a table at the front of the patio at sunset, you can't actually see the sunset as you drink your expensive, kerosene-flavored drink at sunset.

Be the first to ReplyGood spot for food or drinks
Visited Duke's many times during our stay. Had breakfast buffet most mornings - it will set you up for the day. Great choice of food. Staff are attentive and place is very clean. Would highly recommend. Had food there in the evening - again great service and good food. Hula Pie is massive and has to be tried. Also went there just for drinks - really busy - every time we went in there it was packed - loads of staff and you'll never go thirsty or hungry there.
Be the first to ReplyLunch by the beach
We stayed at the Outrigger so we had lunch several times at Duke’s since it was super convenient when we were spending the time at the beach. Note this place is always busy which means the wait staff is working non stop so please be patient. Wait staff we had was great and the food was good. We had a great view of the beach but the only issue is the walkin and find your own table, not a fan of that. You will have people just stand by your table if they think you are leaving which is super annoying. Dukes should change that.
Be the first to ReplyGo on Taco Tuesday.
Went for lunch on Taco Tuesday; food was decent at a good price as it is discounted for Taco Tuesday. Special pricing on drinks too. Worth a visit.
Be the first to ReplyHula Pie!
We go to Dukes each time we are at the Royal Hawaiian. Always good food, service and drinks! We had the traditional burger, fish tacos and nachos. Also, of course, hula pie! Today we were able to see my favorite Hawaiian band “Maunalua”
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere and food.
Awesome breakfast buffet with lots of variety. The fresh pineapple and Portuguese sausages were the highlights. Lovely atmosphere on the beach. Kept humming Jimmy Buffet's Duke's on Sunday in my head. Aloha.

Be the first to ReplyAwesome dinner!
We had a reservation it’s a busy place. The mai tai’s were awesome! We had the salad bar with our meal (great selection) two of us had the prime rib, steak & ribs were also ordered and all were excellent. The service was excellent and we had a great evening! Don’t leave without trying the hula pie….very good!
Be the first to ReplyHula Pie is always the Best!
Had reservations thru Open Table and were seated right when we arrived. A fun, kind of a must do, when in Waikiki. We've been there serval times before. Food was all good and of course, so was the Hula Pie.
Be the first to ReplyYuk! Not worth it!
So this was all the hype. We had 2 friends recommend it. They said food was great and that although it was a kinda tourist trap place, the food was great. Well I must say, I’m a foodies and this was terrible! We ordered ribs and chicken. The food was over sauced and it was just not good. Definitely a cute little place. Maybe for a quick lunch sandwich or burger, cuz you really can’t mess up a burger but not good at all and I would not recommend it.

Love this place!! We went as a family of 7. Great service, even for the kids! Food was amazing. Beautiful restaurant. We’re already planning on coming here a second time before we leave the island. You have to try the pineapple upside down cake and the lava cake souffle. For Appetizers we had the boat for 2 and the chicken wings. Both were fantastic. We had the: Wagyu steak- 5 stars Hamachi Kama- 5 stars Macadamia nut crusted sword fish -5 stars Paella- 5 stars. All delicious
Be the first to ReplyFood good, wait is horrendous
This place has been here for years. If you don't mind the wait and the hordes of people, you'll find the food is pretty good, but you'll pay for the privilege. My filet of beef measured about 2 1/2 inches square at a cost of $54. If you plan to dine here, plan on a two hour wait, so if you'd like to eat around 6pm, get your name on the list at 4pm. They will text you when your table is ready and it won't be any earlier than two hours.
Be the first to ReplyRestaurant better than pool service
Good food although we had to wait for quite a while Came for lunch and the serves were good and the lava flow cocktail was great ! We also had drinks out by the pool Once but these were very average / I suspect little to no alcohol And others nearby were saying the same
Be the first to ReplyGreat lunch
We walked along the beach and had a beach morning, swim, nice and close to Dukes so we could have an early lunch, in their barefoot bar. Got a great table out front, had a very efficient and friendly waitress. Hubby and i both had burgers. Cheeseburger and chicken burger. Massive!!!!! Craft beer is on offer, as are cocktails which are delicious. Very casual, very busy coz its so good
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Food , make a reservation
The food was fresh, presentation nice, and servers very informative. Order a variety of appetizers - you won’t be disappointed. Loved the fish fish with crushed macadamia nuts
Be the first to ReplyDelicious breakfast Buffett.
We had read the reviews on this place so thought we’d pay it a visit. We went for the breakfast buffet at $25 a person & you could not fault the service, selection of items to choose from. The homemade granola was delicious. My husband opted for an omelette which he said was tasty. The waitress was great & couldn’t do enough to help. Well worth a visit. We tried to book in for an evening meal but they are booked well in advance, you can go for a walk in but be prepared to wait.
Be the first to ReplyBack Deck is the way to go!
We had read about Duke's and the lines. So we had gotten in line for dinner at 4 pm and were told we couldn't get sat until 730pm. So we put our names on the list and set out to explore the beach. As we approached the beach we saw tables available on the back deck and were sat immediately. There was live music while we ate. It was just a perfect experience. We had 3 courses and lots of drinks. Our kids got up several times to dance and play in the sand while we enjoyed our extended family vacation in Hawaii.

Be the first to ReplyAmazing food & great service
We just got into Hawaii off of a 9 hour flight from Chicago. We were very hungry & looking forward to getting food. Let me say this was probably one of the best meals with a great view & our server was very attentive. Wish I remembered his name but thank you for the great meal! We shared the poke tacos and I got the mahi mahi & my husband got the ribs everything we had was very tasty
Be the first to ReplyAlways a trip to Duke's is in order, at least once.
Been coming here for years, always enjoy the salad bar buffet for lunch. Central location, with beautiful views. Sunday afternoon's are the best with live music outside and great Dig me Daiquiri's!
