Excellent Italian, Tastes like Italy!
Reviewing Terra, the restaurant on the rooftop. Excellent Italian in a beautiful setting. 2nd time eating at the restaurant and will definitely be back. Love the floor to ceiling windows and all of the indoor and outdoor greenery. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The Sommalier was knowledgable and let us taste 2 wines we were deciding on. We shared the proscuitto and mozzarella with toasted bread. My friend had the swordfish and loved it. I had the Cavatappi with beef and pork ragu and it was delicious. We then shared the tiramisu and it was one of the best I ever had. Love this place so much!

This is a cool place to venture around. Tried some cheese and picked up gelato which is delightful. Nocciola flavor is out of this world.Beem always looking for close to authentic Arancini and this is it! I always have fun venturing the market area on the 3rd floor. We always hit up this place every time weโre in the area.
Be the first to ReplySmall Marketplace / Expensive Restaurant
Iโve been to at least 3 other Eataly locations in North America, and this one felt the smallest. If youโve never been to one, itโs worth looking at the variety and selection of products. I got same pasta and a pizza kit to try later in the week. The pasta was good and was impressed with the pizza. I ate at La Pizza & La Pasta restaurant inside. It was ok. Decent quality food, but expensive for the quality and quantity you get. Itโs convenient but certainly not a place I would deliberately go out of my way to go to. I would recommend getting food from the marketplace instead

What a cool venue! Our daughter brought us here. Itโs like a three story piece of Italy. A cafe and bakery on ground floor, a wine shop on middle floor and Italian market and rooftop dining on third floor. Fun to stroll through the place. We came here for a cocktail on the rooftop bar on a Friday afternoon to catch some of the nice warm sunshine. It was wonderful! We ordered some bread and olive oil as an appetizer. Our drinks were very good, too. Collin was a very good server, friendly and accommodating!

Did not live up to Chicago's Eataly which is wonderful. The food at Terra was just ok; the wine steward was not helpful. He basically agreed that there were no Chardonnay's under $60 that were buttery. If that the case, they need to add one. If that's not the case, he needs training. He also said it wasn't so busy (so he was ok to help me).
Be the first to ReplyGood food, small portion sizes
We ate dinner at La Pizza & La Pasta restaurant within Eataly. - The food tasted very good, including the pizza. - The hostess and the waiter were quite good. We had reservations, which I would recommend, as the restaurant was full (Sat night) and quite a few people were in a wait line. Anyways, we were almost immediatly taken back to our table, which only comfortably fit 4. We were a group of 6 (and the reservation was made for 6). However, a nearby table, which hadn't been cleaned yet, had room for 6 and the hostess had it immediatly cleaned for us. So that worked out well and the hostess was kind and apologetic about the wait. The not great was: - The restaurant is very loud. We could barely talk to each other. Note that there is outdoor dining. - The waiter told us the pizza and pasta are made in separate kitchens so if some in our party orders pizza and some pasta, the food may not come out at the same time. As it turned out, all our food was brought at the same time, but beforehand it was a bit stressful - as it is no fun when one's food arrives late and everyone else has to wait, and then, their food gets cold. - But the main "not great" was the portion size. Rather than a full plate of pasta, it was brought in a small-ish soup bowl size portion. It wasn't enough to fill up those that ordered it - and these are "regular sized" adults. - Also no "free" bread before dinner. If you want bread, you need to pay for it. - And, I might as well throw in that the prices are rather high, especially when one considers the portion size. All in all, a few in our group were still hungry when dinner was over.

Can you imagine settling in for a wonderful celebration dinner and after looking at the menu finding nothing that looked good only to find what you finally ordered wasnโt good as you feared it wouldnโt be. Cavatelli with meat ragu was dry, undercooked and meat was nondescript. Another had Coulotte steak, tough and chewy which clearly is a lower quality cut of meat and for $52 a waste of money. Crudo of seafood was good as was the burrata and peach salad but would have helped to serve bread with the crudo. By the way donโt think they would be willing to modify an order, like substituting a different pasta (squid ink pasta out for a milder non-fishy one)- too much trouble it seems. Service was painfully slow and could never bring all the plates out at same time so we could all start eating together. The adjacent market is brimming with delectable foods so youโd think they could put that on the menu. Terrible disappointment and wonโt be back.
Be the first to ReplyRidiculous - don't go
This place is a complete rip off. The service was terrible and food mediocre and boy what a rip off. They charged $53.00 for a 6 oz. piece of salmon and handful of greens with no dressing. I was told extra salsa verde on the side would be an up charge. Absolutely ridiculous! Oh they charged $10 for 4 small pieces of sourdough bread. I will never go back

We eat at Terra restaurant located at the top floor of Eataly store in Silicon Valley. We reserved a table for two and arrived on time . The host seated us right away at the very first available table located right by the exit /entrance area. In the matter of a few minutes I felt that I am not comfortable at this table since it was non stop traffic in and out . I asked the host to change a table and he agreed to switch the tables for a better one. So finally we got much more comfortable table at the centre of the dining room . After about 10 minutes our waitress finally noticed us and approached us . We ordered a bottle of red wine , a few appetisers , the tagliatelle pasta and grilled pork chop with potatoes on side . The crab salad for $24 was totally tasteless. No salt , no pepper no olive oil or a lemon or anything to enchase the taste . It was rotator uneatable and tasteless.โฆ. The grilled skewers, tasteless pasta and over dried pork chop -$34 โฆ The food was so far from Italian fare as it is only possible to imagineโฆ so disappointed with the food preparation and presentation.Unfortunately we did not enjoyed the food at all . We expected much more from this place. We will not ever come back and wil not recommend it to anyone who loves and understands good Italian food.

What a wonderful visit we had to celebrate our daughter's birthday! We were seated at a nice outdoor table overlooking the area as we requested. Our waiter, Orlando, was so personable as he delivered the bruschetta, focaccia (2 kinds) we ordered to start, along with our hibiscus spritzers, all were enjoyable. Lasagna, Ravioli al spinachi and Cacio e Pepe were our lunch choices. The pasta's were excellent with fresh cheese and great presentation. The waiter came to the table to prepare the Cacio e Pepe in a cheese bowl, explaining each step. The entire lunch made for a very special celebration. Gelato and tarts finished a perfect meal. Can't wait for our next visit.

We had been to the same store in Milan as a Tommy tourist in 2010 and had racked up gifts to show off to people back home Thirteen year later on a Friday evening with a pizza craving, we see of this store in valley fair and excited to go there and relive old times with all excitement Brace your seat belts for here on First the new Valley Fair Shopping Center - commissioned by MBAs from Westfield has lost all its old charm and has been transmogrified in to a greedy developers paradise with 100s of new luxury shops that is now way over valleyโs pay grade with recession. The parking lot is now an ugly multi storied maze with many regions being closed dead ends . After research of parking with trial and error on level 4, with markers showing ways to go to Eataly, we finally parked and that showed a sign to walk on the rooftop of the mall ( yes it is a rooftop with all open visible large industrial hvac central gear). We saw Eataly far away and had to jump many rails and electrical danger spots on that cold night - it felt like Jason Bourne looking for the hunt. Finally we find the place and a nice waiter comes in and charms us in to getting an Italian Coca Cola. Again as dumb American tourists we nod our heads to it and he brings a dark bottle of Italian cola that tastes horrible with strong after taste of chemicals that we all cannot pronounce. STRIKE ONE We order two simple over priced veg pizzas, one red and one pesto and both have NO TASTE, the crusts is soggy snd sides are unpleasantly chewy. For the first time in our 39 years of marriage I saw my better half throwing away the sides. She always likes and eats sides no matter how pizza is at any place . STRIKE TWO. Then we seek a last chance and order a 3 headed gelato cone and after half hour the waiter comes back saying they have only flavor !!! The gelato looked like waiting in the cone for arrival of Haleyโs comet and was dipped last minute in a chocolate. We politely cancel that order at this point - STRIKE THREE After coming out in the store as tourist we bought some Italian toffees and they also taste crap !! So finally we concluded we are the idiots to go there in the first place as Tommy tourist reminiscing our Milan experience 13 years back. Shop has awesome ambience but zero - actually negative gastric appeal or actual taste for food or drinks If you crave for Italian - go to neighboring American pizza shop and let go of this pretentious Italian ambiance and rip off ( we shelled out $65 for a horrible pizza, slow service and a toxic fancy Italian Coca Cola we never consumed.). The parking and adventure of Jason Bourne was a bonus Drop it!

Incredible food Experience. Very unique venue. Was cold the night we were there and the doors were left open so we needed to keep requesting them to close the doors but that was the only issue.
Be the first to ReplyTerra is okay.
We had a good waitress. A couple of the desserts were imaginative and notable like truffle oil over white gelato. A good waiter brought ours table side by gelato cart. Italian fare usually comes with bigger portions, but this chain's portions would most likely not be adequate for hungry young men. This Santa Clara restaurant would do better if it separated dining sections into a zen section, and another section for diners who want to be in much louder PF Chang like ambiances.

We ate lunch on the fourth floor at the pizza and pasta restaurant. Even with reservations for a Thursday, we had to wait to be seated. There were a number of staff members milling around in the room, but for about five minutes we were left waiting at the opening. The room is large, bright with a nice California-type light table and chairs. The hardscapes do result in a noisy environment when it became full. We had checked the menu on line and had hoped for some additional options. There were none. We ended up ordering salads with an extra cost for chicken. Be careful if you have allergies. I specifically told the waiter that I was allergic to onions. He checked with the chef and returned to OK my salad choice. First bite of my salad, I taste onion. I called the waited over and explained there were onions. He returned to the chef. Yep, onions are added to the marinated chickpeas. A new salad was made. The waiter informed us that the pizza and the regular menu came from different kitchens. Therefore, if you ordered food from both kitchens, the food would arrive at different time. We found the menu selection was limited, only one fish dish and it was expensive. Two salads with the chicken add-on and a bottle of sparkling water was over $60 with tip. For us, this is a one and done place. One tip, take the Stevens Creek parking lot to the fourth floor for the entrance. We wandered through the various floors, but made no purchases.

Pizza was pretty good, not enough sauce for me but my wife liked it a lot. However the service was terrible - server had such an accent he was hard to understand especially given the noise level, he spilled the wine. 'Nuff said? Not likely to return

Excellent food in a nice setting. Each dish was delicious and service extremely attentive. Drinks were excellent, too. Only issue: somewhat loud if you are there for business. Definitely coming back!
Be the first to ReplyLunch 2nd visit at the first floor counter.
Lasagne was mediocre at best. Pizza was just ok. Taste is more like Italian fast food. Staff looks and acts like they would rather be anywhere but serving customers. Although I have not tried the rest of the menu. However coffee bar is great.

I rarely post reviews unless it is absolutely needed, let's start from beginning to end. Ratings from 1-5. I made a reservation at Eataly Silicon Valley for a party of 20 with Jerianne B. (event coordinator). The total cost was $4K (our family enjoys eating out) Pros - Pleasant to speak with 3 out of 5 Cons - Timely response is a 2 out of 5 I informed her one of our family member is vegetarian, her response was the spagetti is without meat. No other options was given. Spagetti ingredients is made with eggs therefore it is not vegetarian friendly. My suggestion is for her to very with the Chef then inform your guest. Notes regarding the event was not updated therefore my daughter was over charged for the deposit. 1 out of 5 Day of the Event - 10/30/22 The Guest Manager with the stripe shirt before you walk into Terra was very welcoming. 5 out of 5 Helpful in sorting out the $600+ over charge. 5 out of 5 Brett or Brent our host/waiter experience Pros - Very Attentive 5 out of 5 ratings 4 out of 5 meals was served on time Cons - Course 3 was served in a timely manner EXCEPT for the children's meal - which was extremely late since kids take awhile to eat. 2 out of 5 Brett continues to reiterate the type of wine we should order that is least expensive. Then at the end of the meal he mentioned they provide sorbet that is free, I started to take offense and felt that I was being discriminated against from the way we look. The party of 20 occupations are first responder, a business owner and a real estate investor. Brett continues to report the cost of something that offended most of my family members and myself. This is our first time at Eataly and the last impression of this place should not be typing my reviews that are mostly cons.

Overpriced!! Group of 6 dined at Terra a couple weeks ago. Food was just OK. Best items we had were appetizers and dessert, no entree was worth the $$. Service was good.

I been at this restaurant in Los Angeles . This one in San Jose. The staff has horrible manners . We waited over 45 minutes for food. Food was overprice . I asked for some steak for my salad they gave me 3 pieces for 12 dollars. Overprice establishment , that pretty soon will be the place NOT to go when the newest goes away. I am from San Diego I was visiting . I would never tell my friends to come here to eat . Also the staff and bar tender thought they were too good for everyone . I was scared to ask for another drink. After 450 For a lunch for 4 people . Felt like a waste of my time and money. The rude staff makes it worst . Including the manager

$200 lunch for 3 - SHARED salad, small appetizer, Ragu, ravioli, 1 chicken skewer $29 dessert, 2 drinks, 1 Pelegrรญno. Portion are just right not โBuccaโ size. Salad $16 and appetizer $21 for about 3 medium scallops, was good but our Ragu $27 and ravioli $23 (and tasteless) was served at room temperature so maybe it couldโve been good. We were hungry (food took almost 30 minutes!) so we just ate it. Maybe we expected too much ๐คท๐ป โ๏ธ.
