Emmy Squared: East Village - New York Reviews from The Last Year
This place offers delicious food and drinks in a casual
This place offers delicious food and drinks in a casual environment. If you're looking for a place to enjoy quality pizza and salads but not so casual that it's a pizzeria, this is a great choice. The area is littered with endless food and drink options but this one should stand out for a dinner with friends or a casual date night. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the overall atmosphere can get really loud and the place can feel super busy, which is not conducive to a cozy, intimate dinner. There were several large groups seated near us, and loud music playing from the speakers, making conversation difficult at times. It's hard to know if it was a combination of the two or just the loud groups that made the noise level so unenjoyable. It's totally possible that on another night, the vibe could be very different. We also paid for grilled chicken to be added to our salad and it only came with 5 small chunks. They were delicious, but at basically a dollar per bite, that doesn't seem very worth it. Overall, these small things do not prevent this place from being a great place to go and grab a bite. I would absolutely come back as the food was absolutely delicious and the location is near a ton of great bars.

This is the third location we've been to of Emmy's and this
This is the third location we've been to of Emmy's and this is by far the worst. The quality is terrible for pizza and burger. If you're a fan or want to try for the first time do not come to this location. We even came when barely anyone was here and they sat us right next the one table that was occupied like it's a tight squeeze. And some of the empty tables were still dirty and never cleaned. We love Emmy's but it feels like the quality and ambience was lost in this place. Additionally, the bathrooms are not maintained at all. It was disgusting in there. One of the toilets didn't have a seat attached and the air dryer doesn't work.
Decent pizza.
Good service. Laid back ambiance. Not spending I would go out of my way for. But I am in the neighborhood then I won't mind trying again. A bit hyped as with most places in the city. I liked my pizzas in Queens!

we used the team at Emmy for CATERING AND EVENTS, and they were superb. From organizing to finish they were responsive, flexible, helpful and most of all the food and service was A++. Would highly recommend them for any event. Alice and her team were fast and friendly and all our guests had a blast. Thank you!
Ive ordered delivery twice via their app.
Both times they claimed delivery complete, but nothing was delivered, and they charged me anyway. Lesson learned, avoid!
Fast Food Version of Detroit Pizza
We actually ate at the Emmy’s Squared on West 48th, but that location isn’t on Tripadvisor to review. We weren’t much taken with our experience at Emmy’s. We like Detroit style pizza. Emmy’s makes, however, a fast-food version of the pie. Detroit pizza is a slow food, but Emmy’s was cranking out pies left and right while we were there, mostly for delivery or takeout. The pies have decent toppings, but the crust is light and fluffy—not the thick chewy focaccia-like crust you get with a good Detroit pizza. The salad also appeared to have come from a big bowl of premixed ingredients. The drink menu is small and expensive compared to similar establishments. Our server seemed disinterested. She took our order and brought our food and that was it. To top it off, in the early morning hours after we ate at Emmy’s some young person started trying to misuse the credit card with which we’d bought our meal there.
I rarely stray away from simple pizzas.
I normally just get cheese or pepperoni, as the opportunity cost of trying a new pizza and not liking it is just so damn great. Some of y'all do SO much with your pizza smh. There are few things better than bread, cheese, red sauce, and some pepperoni done well. Simple, yet effective. Oddly similar to my mid range jump shot... All this to say, my girlfriend really wanted the Colony pizza from Emmy Squared, as she is far more adventurous with her pizza. I realize this only adds honey and jalapenos to a pepperoni pizza ahahaaha but still, I was nervous. Plus she was buying so what was I really gonna say lol. Upon opening the box, I was hopeful. It still looked delicious. I mean it literally just adds jalapenos to what I normally get so...... I know I'm nuts, but I can only be me. After ripping into my first bite, I got a mouth full of jalapeno so that threw me off a bit, but I composed myself and kept forging on. I ended up eating 3 slices, and was gonna go for 4 but didn't want to be a little piggy wiggly because I'm tryna be rockstar skinny. I prob shouldn't be eating pizza when I'm tryna be rockstar skinny, but here we are. I did end up eating around the jalapenos if we are being honest, but that honey did add so much to my normal pepperoni pizza. It inspired me to start adding hot honey to my pepperoni pizzas. I know I'm behind the 8 ball on that but whatever. It is what it is. Thank you, Emmy Squared, for taking me on this journey. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Emmy Squared is a popular pizza chain with quite a few locations across the country. They serve Detroit-style pizza, which is basically pan pizza (Pizza hut? Iykyk). They have a nice cocktail menu, and I enjoyed their Sangria and Hot Toddy (not on the menu but the bartender did a terrific job making me one!). As an appetizer, we tried the Zia Fries (minus bacon): these were quite tasty and I loved the queso on top that had a slight kick. For our pizzas we had the Angel (truffle mushroom) and the MVP (vodka sauce pizza): both were good but to be honest, the thick and heavy crust kind of took away from the sauce. The Angel pizza could have used more salt/flavor in my opinion as well. I enjoyed the variety of vegetarian options and the prices were good-we were able to try quite a bit for a reasonable price. Overall a good experience but the pizza just wasn't quite my style-the crust tends to take away from the flavor but if you like a thick crust, this is for you!

Closer to "Flint Style" than "Detroit Style" Placed an order to go, was given a 100 minute wait time. Showed up to pick up pizza 15 minutes before scheduled time, and the pizzas were already sitting out and cold. Crust for one had started to get a little soggy. Even if it was hot and fresh, crust seemed a little undercooked. Would not recommend.
Tasty and cordial
Pleasant experience. Staff practically of Latinos and African Americans, friendliness and guidance on the menu. Magnificent Detroit-style square pizza experience A “must” if you are in NYC and you don't enjoy food designed for tourists as much. Try and you will return

Ordered takeout from here-- got there a little late and was worried I missed the best of my fresh pizza. I was wrong. I love Detroit style pizza, and this is incredible! Delicious buttery, crispy edges. Fluffy dough. Wonderful vodka sauce. I can't recommend this place enough
One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.
This is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The staff were nice, service was fast enough, and it wasn’t busy even though it was around 5.30 on a Saturday evening. The pizza was INSANE! Any pizza lover going to NYC MUST go here. Highly recommend.
Amazing place
Best pizza place in East Village. Food is delicious and service even better. Our waitress Janessa was such a sweet girl. This place has a good vibe.
