Saw this place on the travel channel and is was exactly as advertised. Bomb af. The brisket and the pork belly were cooked perfectly. So much smoky flavor. Love this place and I'll definitely be back!

I didn't take any pics because we inhaled our food, but this 5 star review is especially for your spicy mustard. Do you sell this? I would eat it with everything. EVERYTHING. We had their brisket and burnt bacon ends with pickles, cornbread and that delicious potato salad. We could've definitely gotten one more side. I can't wait to come back and try the other fares. Staff was super friendly and answered all my questions. Bartender was super friendly and helpful too! There's indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating is more shared long tables, the outdoor is more cozy for smaller groups. The music was bumping classic rock but not too loud to hear your partner/friends. I wish I lived closer I would be by more often. Can I buy that mustard?
Be the first to ReplyCame here on a Saturday around 5 PM.
The ambiance is nice and rustic. It's cafeteria style so I sat at the table while my husband ordered at the counter. We ordered ribs, brisket, one sausage, burnt end beans and a potato salad. The brisket was delicious. It was very soft and crispy on the edges with a good flavor. The sausage was good (average sausage taste) nothing too special. The ribs were bleh. They were super dry and had barely any meat on them. The potato salad was good and the burnt end beans were too sweet (gave it a Chef Boyardee taste) I was expecting them to be on the more smokey side. Overall, it was ok. I would come back only for the brisket. I also wish there was a more eclectic options for sides.

excellent barbecue taste like Texas highly recommend coming here if you're in brooklyn recommend the brisket, as well as the burnt ends and beans with mashed potatoes, cornbread spareribs everything is absolutely delicious!
Be the first to ReplyIf I could give this a 4.
5 I would. So to start, the atmosphere/vibe is immaculate. Love the walls, the bar area, the employees, everything is just awesome. Service is super good, I should've asked for the guys name but he was super nice and chill. Let's talk about the food/alcohol now: The alcohol was good. I had the "around the town" whiskey flight (local stuff). Was super good and happy. Was $30 with pretty good pours. My favorite by far was the straight malt interboro whiskey (see pictures). If you don't want to get a flight. Get that. Beer selection, they have a pilsner at the the top of the list that's made for them. DEFINITELY get that. Goes super well with the bbq and just tastes super good. Tried the hefe as well and that was alright. Stick to the pilsner, trust. The tap handles are pretty cool and their alcohol selection overall was good. I went during lunch and they didn't have a bartender at the moment so only simple drinks could've been made so I decided against their cocktail stuff but I can imagine their smoked drinks being really good, especially with their whiskey selection. Food: My wife and I got a pretty good selection (wish I had a bigger stomach for more). We got the ribs, brisket, pork belly, broccoli salad, burnt ends baked beans, half sour pickles, sausage, rolls came with everything. My wife and I differ on the order of these but since I'm writing the reviews... You get my list! I'd say stick with the brisket, (despite some other reviews) the burnt ends baked beans, and the sausage. I'm a big pickle fan and knew what I was getting into with half sour pickles and they are good for what they are but I like more of the vinegar bite with the savory bbq. They have a good crunch and a salty taste. Brisket is solid (both the top thing for my wife and I), especially with the spicy bbq and the sweet bbq sauces. Bark is good, smoke flavor, just a solid pick. I'm a big fan of broccoli salad (but a different style) which I did ask him what it was like and knew it was different than what I was used to. I like the mayo style with onion, bacon, cheddar, and some apple cider vinegar. This is more vinegar dressing (pretty light) with some red pepper, garlic, and I think coarse salt (my wife didn't like that part because there was a bit of a brunch/grind with certain bites) although it didn't bother me at all. I liked the snap and flavor of the sausage, I could see some people saying it was a bit dry but again, it is a smoked sausage, and I ended up alternating dipping it in their sauces or having it plain. I loved it honestly. Beans were awesome. Sweet, savory, and just super good. This might be a hit or miss depending on the review that you read. Overall, this seems to be the place to go for NYC, at least for what I looked up. And it's solid. Only reason I think it's not a 5/5 for me is because I've been to a lot of places in Los Angeles, Texas, and I smoke a lot of meats myself so I know what it can be. It's still definitely worth going though in my opinion. Grab some bbq (brisket, beans, and maybe some ribs), a beer, and a whiskey if that's your thing and have a good time. Hope this helps, cheers everybody
Be the first to ReplyFood: When you get their pork belly fresh and tender.
It's the juiciest bite you'll ever have. So good with their spicy barbecue sauce and their buns. They have nice cocktails as well. Service: Great. Recommend cuts different cuts to you. They got a whole selection but I generally go with their pork belly. Ambiance: Great vibes for a barbecue place, sometimes they have sports playing on their screen on game days. My favorite BBQ spot in Brooklyn.
Be the first to ReplyThe cashier was very nice and had a very pleasant attitude.
That alone made me order $40 worth of food for lunch for one person. However, the food was a whole nother thing. For starters, the brisket was a bit fatty with no seasoning what so ever. I am a connoisseur of bbq and was expecting it to be on the lines of Hill Country (NYC), Hometown (Red Hook-Brooklyn), Meat Mitch (Kansas City), or Brad's BBQ (Oxford, Al) but it wasn't. I had the coleslaw and it was bland as well. The pork sausage was okay but was a little over cooked. The baked beans were not good at all. They were of the consistency of thick chili. Needless to say, I packed up my food and brought it home to give to my husband because I wasn't too pleased with the taste.

Best barbecue I've had in a long time! Each meat is sold by the 1/2 pound, which is more than enough for most folks. Highly recommend the pulled pork as well as the ribs, where the meat practically fell off the bone. My only beef (pun intended!) was with the cornbread, which could have been better. That is not enough to stop me from going back though!. The place is pretty much self-serve, so not much to say there. The place looks like it is a converted garage, and if you're not paying attention, you could walk right past it. Definitely looking forward to my second visit!
Be the first to ReplyIf you love bbq, this is the place to go.
The food is always great, and you feel the atmosphere tired to a bbq pit. There's always a friendly crowd and it's an easy place to go in, sit down, enjoy a wonderful bbq meal. Only thing I desire are French fries from here, other than that, it's awesome! Their spicy sauces and meat cut is AMAZING. Don't even get me started on the pork belly, I've never tried it until I came here and now I want it everywhere I go hoping for the same exact taste presented at Fette Sau. Looking forward to stopping by again, for my 4th visit!
Be the first to ReplySometimes the food here is amazing.
5-star worthy. Sometimes it's awful. Zero star worthy. Dried out and nearly inedible. How can you possibly dry out pork belly? It makes no sense. There's no way the staff can't see that the meat is dried out and overcooked and yet they serve it anyway. I wish management would address this issue and develop some basic quality control and consistency of their product. Also, the meats are generally served room temp and it gets cold by the time you bring your tray to the table.
Be the first to ReplyAs always, the food was amazing.
Staff was friendly and very helpful and know their meat! All forge food was juicy and super tender and the star of the meal was the spicy pork sausage narrowly beating out the pork belly.
Be the first to ReplyTexas bbq in Brooklyn.
It's excellent and a must go if you ever are traveling throughout Brooklyn. We live about 45 minutes away with traffic but ventured into Brooklyn to get this bbq. It's seriously excellent. A-little expensive for portion size but it's worth it. We ordered the brisket, baked beans with burnt ends and a few pickles. Very tasty. Not super Smokey which I loved. A lot of bbq is overcooked with smoke, this was perfect. The baked beans were excellent and the pickles were also very good. We will be back for sure. It was awesome. Beautiful meats

Beware if ordering online--- both times I have ordered the delivery came missing several items. They make you pay for sauce- bbq, mustard, vinegar but then don't add it to the bag. I found the meat to be incredibly dry and flavorless without the added condiments-- will never order again.

Friends and I went here for our weekly restaurant exploration. The place was packed and not that big to begin with. The food is alright, not the worst bbq and definitely not the best. For the price though, they're definitely asking a bit much for what you get. This place was a one and done kind of deal. Also my friends and I all had to take monstrous toilet shattering diarrhea after. Not in a food poisoning kind of way, just when something doesn't sit right.

I have been trying to get here for the pastrami since I saw this place on the Food Network. Well today Thursday no pastrami; I was told they only have it on weekends. We got Niman Ranch Beef Brisket it was as dry as it looked and it was cold. This was a surprise since it came out of the warmer. I am so disappointed in this visit. I was hoping to hire them to cater an event. Well on to another location. I don't know if it was an off day but after this first visit I doubt that I will return. The brisket being so dry took away from the other foods we tried. Having said this I can not join the wagon and say the food was great because it was not.

The issue I had here was there was a lack of seating and the seating at the part was particularly uncomfortable. There wasn't a foot rest on the bar stools so your legs sort of dangled off the stool. This wouldn't have so much been a problem if the seats were not made out of tractor seats which slanted forward. It felt the entire time I was seated I was having to engage my core. The food, however, was authentic barbecue and while I'm not usually a big wings fan the chicken wings here were fantastic. I also enjoyed the banana cream pie.

As a born and raised Texan, the chicken is actually pretty good. The homemade ranch definitely brings a spicy flavor to it however, for the portion size, eh. Again, I'm used to the cost of living in Texas so take that into consideration. It was $15 for a piece of chicken and five pickles. Would I come back? Maybe. Not pressed though.

simply put: great barbecue food, big portions, fairly priced. the staff was incredibly kind and even let us try some samples. from the long hall dining tables to the painted meats on the wall, the restaurant itself was a non-pretentious, casual spot to slow down for a great bite

Nice atmosphere. Great bar. Sauces are good. Staff is very friendly.

Growing up in the south I've always been a fan of southern Bbq foods. However, good southern Bbq food is hard to come by. This place however can take all my money!! We got the Brisket, pulled pork, ribs, wingsBeans, pickles, and potatoes - all of it was amazing! Also each sauce is delicious! I'm pretty sure I doused all the sauces on each item
Be the first to ReplyNot great or bad, just sort of above average bbq.
Meat was flavorful but I felt a bit overpriced. Sides were ok.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced to the moon and back.
Was super delicious years ago but I'm afraid all the popularity killed it
Be the first to ReplyGreat ribs and pulled pork! Wasn't a huge fan of the sides.
Love the atmosphere, great for a casual hangout
