Top of the Rock is Tops!!
This was the last observation deck that we visited on our trip to New York and well worth it. went up on a Sunday morning and therefore the line was not long at all. The views are magnificent, especially across Central Park and the Empire State building. The iconic photo of the workers on the beam can be reenacted on the observation deck and is highly recommended even for those fearful of heights.
Be the first to ReplyNot really worth it
We used the CityPass to get our digital ticket for 8:15pm on a Thursday night. It was packed with people and crazy hot! The viewing decks were packed and took a while to get an unobstructed view. It didn’t help that there was no breeze up at the top either. Once you do get a view, it’s beautiful. Not sure when it’s not busy, but the beam lift for $25 is a crazy price! Not sure if it was worth it.
Be the first to ReplyVERY BUSY ,BUT WORTH IT
Easy access but they were strict on entry times. Didn't mind queuing for the lift as we soon got in and fast up to floor72! Then it was chaos ! - People moving about everywhere and very difficult to get to take pictures . It needed a rota system ,which should have been easy as the tickets were timed, so that so.many come out and so many in ! Views were well worth it though !
Be the first to ReplyA fantastic view of the city
Had a really lovely time up the Rock. We purchased the RockMoMa joint ticket so we could experience both attractions at a slightly discounted price, really worth it! We went in the early evening and must have timed it well as there was no queue to enter, and we were able to get right to the top really quickly. There’s about three levels to enjoy, but really enjoyed being able to have a drink overlooking the view. The gift shop is a little pricey but still some really fun things for sale there.

We booked the top of the rock for 7.00 on a Monday evening. Queuing to get in was simple and efficient. No problems going up to the lower viewing platform. There's a cafe to buy food and drink if you want. No problems going up to the top viewing platform. It was fairly busy, but you could get to the edge and take in the view, with a bit of patience. Top of the Rock gives great views of the empire state, central Park and the south of Manhattan island. Highly recommended. There are plenty of places to get something to eat in the Rockerfeller centre.

A fantastic experience and great views of the city that never sleeps. We had our 9 year old grand daughter with us and she was curious where everyone lives, now she knows .
Be the first to ReplyA must see - evenings before sunset was fab!
Great place for visit 8pm in June. Friendly and efficient staff. Good amenities toilets etc. I recommend this over ESB for the above.
Be the first to ReplyIt’s not so great at the top
We found the experience a bit of a let down. There were long queues to actually get up to the top in the lifts. It is narrow in some areas and there were far too many people allowed in. Once you enter you can stay as long as you want and people tend to do this to wait for sunset. You can buy food and drink but seating was limited. Not enough staff to manage all these visitors we couldn’t even find the exit! There are better views elsewhere

The Top of the Rock offers beautiful views of New York. Of course, the observation floors are lower than the Empire State Building (ESB), but what I liked most about it is that the views are not obstructed by gates. The walls are made of a different material (not sure if it is glass), and it is easier to get a nice clear shot of the city. The only structure that was not easy to see was the Chrysler Building – it is visible, but slightly covered by another building, so a slice of the left side was in view. There is a restaurant where you can get refreshments (wine, soda, ice cream) -- I paid $17 for half a glass of Rhone. The view of the sunset is amazing.

We were able to change our dates with the Express Pass which was great since it was calling for rain. We also skipped all the lines and got a discount in the store. The views at TOTR are amazing and this is the best observation deck in NYC!
Be the first to ReplyReally good . We got there before dark so we could see the view in daylight and then stayed for the night time view.
Brilliant . Great view daytime and night . Took an hour to get out though . I think there were too many people for The night time viewing

Excellent observation deck on three levels above NYC. Great views of central park and the Empire State Building. You can see the Statue of Liberty in the distance. Highly recommend this on a sunny day as the views will be even better

A very nice observation deck in the heart of New York. The best place to see the sunset! Really very atmospheric and worth the money!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a view !
Very central view of Manhattan, where on one side we can admire the Empire State Building and on the other Central Park. Even though it is not as high as the other observatories, I find the view splendid. Perhaps do it first to get that “Wow” effect before discovering the view from the other observatories.

Well worth a visit for fantastic views across New York. We pre-booked tickets and there was minimal queing. Staff we're pleasant. We were disappointed with official photos of us sitting on "the beam". Expected the photo to be edited to look like the famous "Lunch a top a Skyscraper" but it was nothing more than a photo of us sitting on a metal beam bolted to the floor.

Great way to see some spectacular views of New York. Probably the best view over Central Park. There is a new attraction called The Beam but unfortunately it was out of order when we visited.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing view of the city by night
We took a late trip to the top of the rock wasn’t looking forward as the day before it was cancelled for safety reasons due to heavy snow completely understandable and the staff changed our tickets promptly. Nice friendly staff on all floors The views blew me away I thought we would see much by my god I was mistaken! The lifts were interactive and they were so much fun you could see all the lights for miles and miles. We couldn’t use the the new beam as it was closed but will return in summertime and visit again :)
Be the first to ReplyGood but limited terrace access
I had already been there twice in the past, but it has changed a lot! The view is always superb, you can clearly see Central Park even if there are more and more very tall buildings coming up in front of it! On the other hand, what has changed is the fact that inside you now have cords for queues everywhere (before you could walk around in peace, we had more space) AND, the What's more annoying is that certain places on the terrace are no longer accessible unless you pay to take photos and I don't know what attraction! Everything has become like this now, there is the base price, we are limited and the more we pay the more we can benefit. Before it was simpler and I don’t think anyone complained about it 😅

We had an excellent day for seeing the views, lots of great things to look at!! We had both pictures taken to remind us of this amazing day.

What a view! We chose Top of the Rock based on the recommendation of a family member. We really wanted to see all of the lights at night and figured this was the best way. We were not disappointed! The views were beautiful and we were lucky enough to have a relatively clear night.
Be the first to ReplyBest view in New York- great for groups
The best view in New York and such incredible staff that made the experience even more special. We were a group of 17 students and 3 adults and every member of staff was so helpful, kind and happy. From our tour guide Micah who was hilarious and made us giggle throughout the tour to each member if the security team and top of the rock staff who were helpful from top to bottom including Sharnell and her team. A huge thank you and a must see for anyone visiting New York. Definitely the best to go at night to see the whole city lit up- we went at 7pm for our tour and were at the top for 8pm. Do not miss!
Be the first to ReplyAnother NYC observation deck with stunning views
Had a Sightseeing pass so we did 3 of the NYC observation decks in one day. Unfortunately it was raining when we got to this one Nice outdoor observatory with stunning views Hard to compare them all as each offer unique aerial views of the city that never sleeps

Breathtaking views. Go as early as possible in the morning to avoid crowds. In my opinion way better than the Empire State Building.
Be the first to ReplyWOW, a must see on your trip to NYC.
Of the 3 towers we visited on our NYC trip, we all agreed that Top Of the Rock has the best views! And the best photo opps. we loved the multi level observation decks to visit. And the employees there are amazing. Especially Kheenan. We got to chat with him while in line to enter and he was so friendly, entertaining, and welcoming. He made our wait fun and go by fast. He has a fantastic personality and infectious smile. He is definitely an asset to your team. I will look for him again on my next visit to the Observation Deck.

Well worth a visit. I took my parents who are in their 60s and 70s and they both enjoyed the experience. It was a quick experience, we had completed it within a hour.
