Fleming's Prime Steakhouse reminded me in a magical way
Fleming's Prime Steakhouse reminded me in a magical way that Ruth's Chris Diner is not the only player in the upscale steakhouse chain space. If I have to be the one to say it, I will... Fleming's is flat out better than Ruth's Chris. I am an absolute lover of Auntie Ruth's, so the paradox of pain and freedom wracks my soul as I make that bold statement. Unfortunately being young, recently-married, and in college calls for a visit to such a steakhouse in exclusively the most celebratory of occasions. This occasion happened to be the celebration of my beautiful mother's 50th birthday (pictured holding her birthday berries desert). With all of this being said, my wife and I will likely choose to make a reservation at this hotspot across from the Delta Center over visiting Aunt Ruth's house for our next big celebration. If I could have a quality Fleming's steak with lobster drenched in butter every night, you bet your britches I would happily do so, and accept my diagnosis with severe atherosclerosis at the ripe age of 24 with open arms. Great service from pleasant staff. Truly a fantastic dining experience.

Great service - Great steaks - Great drinks - just an outstanding dinner. Found easy street parking on Sunday. The best Fleming's I've been to yet.

Nestled in gateway, this upscale restaurant is a nice spot for a fancy night out. Overall, very polite service with eager staff that was constantly cleared dishes and brought over water. The house bread comes with two dips, one sweet and one savory, that are great for snacking on. The stand out to me was the calamari and the lobster mac & cheese. It was perfectly seasoned and rich in sauce. The steaks also looked great. Overall, this is a nice place to celebrate special occasions but nothing i would crave to return to given its overall steep price (steaks are $50-68, starters are $20-30).
Be the first to ReplyNot impressed.
Food was overpriced and bland, tiny portions for suc.h an expensive meal.I have to say the service was probably the worst we have ever had.I literally had to chase our server down every time I needed anything.I have had better service at a bad buffet. I asked to talk to the manager after we had payed, waited and that didn't happen.I doubt we will ever go back
Be the first to Reply100/10! This just became my new favorite restaurant in SLC.
Went here for the two for Tuesday dinner and it was incredible. Every single dish was SO good. One of my favorite things was the Brie cream cheese spread they bring out for their baked bread. I could literally eat that every day for the rest of my life and never be sick of it. There was plenty of food and we even got leftovers! Our server Fabian was amazing. He was super attentive and professional and kind. And do NOT skip dessert when you come here!! You will not regret it!
Be the first to ReplyGreat service always.
Food amazing. Recommend seafood platter. One of my favorite places.

I came to this restaurant for the Twosday deal which landed right on my bday about 3 years ago, the food was great the Tomahawk was cooked to perfection and the sides were to die for. I cannot complain on the service because it has always been a hit each and every time I've come here. I brought my mom for her bday in 24' and the sides are still delicious, however I found the Tomahawk to be VERY chewy and flavor was quite bland, not what you'd expect from a $100 35 oz piece of meat. Overall the ambiance was great! My parents were very happy with their food selection so I suppose that's what matters. I would recommend this place for any occasion.
Be the first to ReplyI have to start this by saying the service was 5 stars.
Our waiter, Derek was fantastic. My glass was never empty. All of our requests were met quickly and with perfection. The ambiance, fantastic. Dimly lit but not too dim, quiet, seating was comfortable. The food, well, I gotta say, I was a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the food was great, the steaks were cooked just they way we requested, the salads were on chilled.ppates, the desserts were amazing, but it wasn't out-of-this-world amazing. Perhaps this place had been so hyped up to me that it was unfair to them, but the food was just good, not amazing. Service, 5 stars, ambiance 4 stars, good, 3.5 stars.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary--only our second time at Fleming's. Seated right away at a large table. There are several servers, so you're not left alone much. My water was constantly topped off. The bread and cheesy butters they served were really delicious! However, when I slowed down, they took the bread away, without asking if I was done or if I'd like to take it home. (I wish they wouldn't assume.) We ordered and shared a Pear & Blue Cheese Salad (seasonal) and the Sweet Chili Calamari to start, both of which we both loved. Plates were immediately cleared. Then came the entrees. The steaks were absolutely amazing (medium rare), as were the shrimp & scallops. Yumm! I only finished half of my 8 ounces. The Fleming's Potatoes were delicious and creamy! We got the Gooey Butter Cake to go, and they packaged up our leftovers, too. We were up and out of there in 60 minutes, which felt a little rushed to me. We left a $40 tip since the service was good, but at these prices, I'd like it to take a bit more time! It was very nice for our special occasion.
Be the first to ReplyI had the bone in filet and it was not very good.
The meat was not very tender and was without much flavor. The mashed potatoes were ok as was the bread.

We could not have been happier with our experience! There are many steakhouse options downtown and I have to say Flemings tops them all! The construction would be the only negative but we understand that has zero to do with Flemings. Once inside, from the initial greeting to the end of our meal was fantastic! Loved the service , food , and ambiance ! Thank you Flemings for a wonderful evening.

The food is amazing! Our waiter was "Jordan" and he was the nicest guy, seemed to genuinely want to give the best service. Made our 23rd anniversary that much more special- he went out of his way. Thank you!!

Fleming's used to be our go to location for a nice dinner out or any celebration. Something has changed. It felt like I was at Red Robin chasing down the server for refills, our salads showed up before our appetizers, we had to pre-bus our table after waiting 15 minutes for someone to check in, half of the menu was sold out like they had not prepped enough food for the day, just not what we have seen in the past. At $100 per person, you let me down Fleming's.

Boyfriend wanted to take me to a nice dinner for my birthday, we had a reservation at 7:30 we arrived at gateway at 7:15. We did not get to Fleming's until almost 7:45. The parking and directions are an absolute joke, not to mention it's to freezing outside to be walking around for a half hour trying to figure out your location. On top of that, after we were finally in the building our waiter was absolutely amazing gave us our crab cakes on the house and two free desserts and some truffles. He was the only good thing about it experience!!! We ordered the Christmas special that comes with a filet and a lobster tail (lobster was the whole reason we chose this place) after receiving our entree our lobsters were extremely overcooked hard to even chew. And for this we will never be dining at Flemings again.
