Fouquet's Paris Reviews from The Last Year

Ambiance is great for people watching if you sit near the window. Alex our waiter is bilingual and has a pleasant personality that is helpful. The escargot was delicious, and the Cesar salad was plentiful. Actually could not finish it because it was so filling. Inside look on the walls, there are photos of a lot of the famous people that have dined here. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and we all would go back when in town. Enjoy!

1/1/2024 I made a reservation on January 2nd through Yelp, I highly recommend to make a reservation. I always come to Fouquet when am in Paris. The service is fantastic and the French ambiance is a great experience. It's pricy,,,$182 for lunch. The French onion soup was delicious and the croquet monsieur was so good. They bring olives and fresh bread to the table. Emma our waiter was so nice. It was my bday so they did bring a cutie tiny cake and chocolate for me. Loved the experience. It's a must try. My $41 dollar salad was a bit under dressed. We dined on 01/01/24.
very good food! more expensive than usual but still good.
the service is really good and they make sure your doing ok. the vibe is so good in there too. one of my favorite parts is the people and how nice they are.
My wife and I had the pleasure of eating here on our last
My wife and I had the pleasure of eating here on our last night in Paris. The food was incredible and equally important was the quality of the service. Our server's name was Leo. He was very polite, friendly and helpful when we had questions about the menu and wine selections. The quality of his service was so outstanding, we made a point of asking for the manager and letting her know how pleased we were with his service.

We were walking by on the Champs d'Elysee and saw the signs for Paris and New York restaurant. We came in for a glass of wine. What an adorable restaurant. Great service and the waiter was very kind to take pictures of us. The olives that came with the drinks were phenomenal. I had the Hermitage red wine which was fabulous.
The location is perfect, and the decor is very French.
I was given a nice table by a window, perfect for eating solo. The staff was beyond friendly and attentive. The food left much to be desired. I ordered the prix fixe meal. The foie gras was okay, but nothing special, but better than from a grocery store. The only accompaniment was a spoonful of caramelized onions (5 Guys style) that did not complement, and no mustard, gherkin pickles, etc. The lamb chops were overdone and cooked at a low temperature that left no flavorful searing. They were accompanied by a demiglace sauce where the bones and vegetables were not braised enough, leaving the sauce tasting more like a rich beef broth. It was an unpleasant lamb and beef flavor combination. The spinach side dish was quickly smothered with garlic and was delicious, primarily because it was fresh and grown in France. The creme brule dessert looked like a slice of pumpkin pie but without any of the delight. The hard candied shell had dissolved days before serving and the custard filling was thick and tencious. Even worse, was the pie shell that had been soaking for days and had turned into a leathery layer impenetrable with a fork. The dessert was a disaster and should have never crossed the kitchen door except for the back kitchen door leading to the dumpster, what an embarrassment! I did not complain because I felt bad for the staff, paid, left a 20% tip, and had an unforgivable experience.
This is more of a spot to go for ambiance than the food
This is more of a spot to go for ambiance than the food itself. White tablecloth, expansive corner spot in Champs-Elysses, I've been told it's an institution of sorts. I found the food very average and the prices very high for the quality of the food, especially when there are so many restaurants in Paris. I ordered the beef tartare (spicy) and it was okay. Nothing super impressive in my opinion. I would even venture to say I've had better tartare in the city.
Very average.
We had escargot three places (all different) and this one was the worst. It was small and not the best. We only went for light apps. The butter was good haha very random. Drinks also great. We just went because it was close to us.
Great location.
Pretty restaurant. Good service. Onion soup was okay with very little broth but good flavor. Hamburger with fries was good, just underdone for what I ordered. The escargot was great.
11/10/23.
It wasn't officially dinner time but we were ready to eat something and on a damp and cool late afternoon, also ready for a nice red wine. As we walked along the Champs-Elysees, the expanse of red awning and classy font for Fouquet's drew our attention. The door was opened for us as we approached and the black velvet chairs, around small tables with white linens and red room accents against the white walls definitely begged us to stay. We were offered a choice of a a couple tables for two, selecting one by the window so we could continue to "people watch" while we refreshed our spirits. We ordered glassy of a very full bodied red and a charcuterie plate. Slices of a beautiful and hearty bread, a bowl of seasoned olives, and a wonderful butter were placed on the table. The wine came quickly thereafter and then a luscious plate of meat assortments, pickles and onions. We had hoped for a little cheese but there was none. Hubs chose to have another of the same red wine, while I was still had about half left. Our server was wonderful and surprised us with a plate with 2 delicious chocolates with 2 bite size little cakes, similar to Madeline sauce though shaped a bit differently than I see them in the US. As we lingered savoring those, he brought us yet another of the same! Although I intended to finish my wine, as I got to the bottom, there was at least a teaspoon of sediment, which I do think the bartender or server (I didn't see who made the pour) should have noticed and stopped pouring before adding all that to my glass). However the overall experience was excellent. Since I can't give 4 1/2 stars, I gave 5 because it was certainly better than 4 stars.
