Outstanding
We had the seven course dinner with sake match which was excellent. The food was delicious, service excellent. Relaxed tranquil surroundings, highly recommended
Be the first to ReplyAwesome sake tasting & dinner
The restaurant sounded a bit too expensive as we haven’t visited restautants at such price range. But it was awesome. The dinner and sakes were all forth of every yen. The food was great and it was nicely enhanced with accompanying sakes that were served in different ways depending on the sake. The dinner was the absolute highlight of our two week Japan trip.

Fushikino was a highlight of our week in Tokyo. Essentially a tasting menu with sake pairings, the delivery and associated explanation is handled by the owner in this small (10 seat) restaurant. The selected sakes were complex and opened our eyes (or taste buds!) to what good sake could be. As good as the sake was, the food too was a treat. Was the evening worth the high cost? Absolutely.
We made a reservation online a week before we arrived in Tokyo, and a lead time is apparently often needed. I can understand why as Fushikino’s reputation becomes more well known.
Birthday feast to remember
I was taken to this restaurant for my birthday this year and it was an incredible experience. We went for the 8 course menu paired with a different sake for each course and the sake masters carefully explained the origins of each sake type and the production procedure. The food courses were immaculate in taste and presentation and a fantastic example of traditional Japanese cuisine at its finest. The sake cups were an amazing exhibition of japanese art and craft and one of which we were informed was over 200 years old, and we were honoured to have been able to use such a historical item! Each cup was uniquely chosen in various antique shops by the sake master and there was a story for each artist of every cup. The staff were absolutely superb, very knowledgable and wonderfully friendly and welcoming. An amazing experience and one which will not be forgotten soon.
