A Fabulous Dining Experience!
Beautiful restaurant. Inviting decor. Wait staff is first rate: friendly, prompt, helpful. Food is creative and delicious. Our choices: Appetizers: Fried Artichokes, and Pistachio stuffed mozzarella cheese sticks. Main dishes: Rigatoni a la Vodka, Eggplant Rolatini. For dessert, vanilla bean gelato with rock salt and olive oil. Everything was absolutely superb. Nice wine selection too. Fabulous place!

The food was not good. Portions were small and price was big. Didn't like the pasta. Chicken had no taste. Don't even get a salad with your entree. That's a separate charge. We won't be back.
Be the first to ReplyOMG - WONDERFUL!
We enjoy fine dining and have eaten at some of the best Italian restaurants across the nation โ this was our first time at Gaetano's and based on our experience they certainly rank in the upper echelon of great Italian restaurants in the Vegas area. We read some of the recent negative reviews about this marvelous family-owned restaurant and all I can conclude is, those negative reviews were about some other place; because our experience, from the time we arrived for our 6 PM dinner reservation until we left hours later, was nothing short of spectacular. We were promptly greeted as we entered the restaurant and shown quickly to our table in the main dining room. Our water glasses were filled seemingly before we even sat down, the menus were presented with a smile and another wonderful greeting, and the wine list was handed over promptly. That extra little attention to detail set the tone for the marvelous evening ahead. It took us about five minutes to scan the marvelous wine list and settle on a lovely 2017 Amarone. The bottle and crystal appeared 2 minutes later, and the wine was nothing short of amazing. We declined to have it decanted and just slowly savored it out of the bottle. Our waiter highlighted some house specialties on the menu, but quickly ventured to off-the-menu choices that were the highlights of our meal. The squash blossoms (currently in season) were amazing โ so delicate and flavorful. I could easily have ordered a second round and made a meal of them. Our breadbasket (amazing homemade bread and crackers) was always refreshed, and the accompanying olive oil and balsamic was just incredible. We settled on the Caesar salad for two as our next course, and what arrived was one of the bet salads Iโve ever eaten. Perfectly balanced with their homemade dressing, and exactly the right portion, filling but not overwhelming. Our waiter made a point of timing each course, ensuring we had time to enjoy the wine and bread between courses, and of course our water glasses always seemed to just be refilled like magic by the attentive staff who were standing our of sight and just appeared out of nowhere to grab a dirty dish, replace a piece of silverware, brush away crumbs, or ensure if we needed anything. When the entrees arrived, I was blown away โ the crab-stuffed salmon (again off the menu) was among the best Iโve ever eaten. I was sneaking glances at my mate to see if she was watching me lick the last bits of crab off my fingers โ truly scrumptious. The owner stopped by multiple times to check on us, and he shared the marvelous stories of how they picked the wines themselves and stocked the cellar from visits to Itay, and then regaled us with the story of using his grandmotherโs recipes for some of their most amazing dishes (like the Sicilian Eggplant Rollatine) The entire service experience was perfect โ never intrusive, always on time, very helpful, and enabled us to enjoy our time together, without ever having to ask for anythingโฆ We were too overwhelmed from dinner to order dessert, so we savored the last of the wine, and our waiter insisted on bringing us some complimentary aperitifs before we left. The dessert menu did look marvelous, but that is for another day. Yes, dinner was a little pricey, but nothing outrageous and well worth it! The wine list had many excellent selections across a wide price range, and we concluded this would also be a lovely place to stop in for a late-night drink and dessert after a night on the town. If you are expecting Olive Graden Italian, this is not the place you want to try. However, if you want an exceptional dining experience, try Gaetanoโs! Highly recommend reservations especially on the weekendโฆ

Happy hour scam. no seating available despite 10+ empty seats. When I complained, we were asked to leave.
Be the first to ReplyWe were warned
Yes, all the reviews of the restaurant were very positive. We thought it would be great to try them out through the happy hour. We had plans initially a few weeks ago, and friends who have lived here 20 years, said they were not interested in joining us, and did not care for the place. Our plans changed, and we did not go then, but did yesterday. Since, we had guests in, we ventured over. Well, we were not even able to eat, despite the restaurant and bar being empty. There was just a single guy at the bar and happy hour menu was not available in the restaurant. We were told everything was reserved. We expressed our dismay and disappointment, and were asked to leave. Obviously, we will not be going back, and will be telling our network of friends about our experience. We were warned and should of taking the advice of our experienced friends.

I disagree with the other reviews here. Ate last night on December 5th. The house salad for 2 was very soggy and the portions were small. The eggplant Parmesan was not good and tasted very nutty almost like it was undercooked and the sauce was an orange marinara sauce that I wouldnโt feed to my dog as it was so low quality and had a weird taste to it. The chicken piccata was OK. We heard this place was good and had high rating but the food quality was nowhere near that of Olive Garden, which would been a better choice . we will never go back there again. The restaurant itself was very large and nice and service was good. The bread they serve was toasted and of low quality . Their wine list was way overpriced and not worth even ordering the wine by the glass. They mustโve thought they were on the strip by charging these prices. We are from NY Italian neighborhoods. We know Italian food!

Wonderful meal. We enjoyed the special meat ball appetizer and bruchetta to start. Moved on to a wonderful pastas including a special blue cheese pasta and ravioli with short rib. Their pastas are made fresh everyday and by far the best in the Las Vegas area. Our server Barry was helpful and attentive throughout the night. The ambience is fun Italian all the way. The salads are huge and can easily be shared. Great wine list and the Tartufo for desert was just perfect.

We went to a local restaurant for our anniversary dinner instead of going to The Strip. In addition to having an incredible meal, we had fantastic service and a great time. Will go there every year now

One of our very favorite Vegas restaurants. Food is authentic Italian of the best quality. All pastaโs are made in house. Nice wine selection. Professional and friendly service. Great cocktails; try the Sicilian Old Fashioned! Great to be away from the hustle and bustle and high prices on the strip!
Be the first to ReplyGood Pasta. Affordable prices.
Reservation highly recommended. Excellent service. Food was above average. Far more economical eating here than the strip.

This came to my attention as Joe Rogan's favourite Vegas restaurant, but then I read that it changed ownership and went downhill. Nevertheless, thought we would give it a try. Glad we did! Service was great, as was the setting. Their pastas are excellent, and their caesar salad was the best we tasted in Vegas. My bone-in pork chop was top notch. We shall return.

Vongole, scampi, ravioli, pork chops, salads wine, desert and many more is what our table tasted and everyone was quite satisfied with their meal! If youโre in this part of town and wanted Italian food, Iโd recommend for the tasty Food, Service and ambiance! ๐

Excellent Italian food! Was very quiet on a Sunday evening, but food and service were exceptional. Food was well prepared and perfectly seasoned. Nice wine list.

This was my first time here. We arrived a bit early but weโre still accommodated right away. Started off with some cocktails and an outrageous burrata salad with arugula prosciutto And tomato that was really great. Had a bread bowl with several different types with an nice side of Olive oil and a good aged balsamic. For our entrees we ordered the rigatoni bolognese and Lasagna with a side sausage and meatball. Like the balsamic the sausage was high quality and very good. The lasagna had a bit too much bolognese for my liking and the meatball was just ok. For desert I ordered coffee with a side of sambuca and a piece of their tiramisu. The. Great thing about tiramisu is that wherever you get it, itโs always different shaped or layered. Sometimes it comes in a bowl or glass and sometimes like here on a plate. This was a very good one. On this night they had a wine and dinner pairing event and the host was on a microphone and he must have had his lips right on the microphone cause they was a a lot distortion in his voice that brought the ambiance down a bit. That may or may not have been the reason for the partitions in the middle of the room. All in all it was a nice experience.

We haven't been back to the Las Vegas area in 2 years (think Covid) but had to have another dinner at Gaetano's. Same great food and house made breads as before. Our server, Jake, was wonderful and helpful with the wine selection and menu items. A real great find just a short drive from the strip, without the crowds.

The restaurant hours are 5pm but they kept us and two other couples waiting outside in cold until 5:10. The interior and atmosphere were nice. The food was highly overpriced. I don't mind paying more if the food is good, but we found it to be so so nothing special. I have enjoyed the food at olive garden which we consider mediocre as good or better then this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThere was 6 of us for dinner,
There was 6 of us for dinner, we had reservations and were promptly seated. Our waiter Nick was attentive and pleasant. I ordered the chicken piccata and a side of spinach. The chicken was a bit tough and lacked flavor(seasoning). It just was ok.

I had dined at Gaetano's on numerous occasions in the past and have always enjoyed their cuisine. The former owner/operator was a wonderful host who would make a point of coming to every guest at most every table and welcoming them to his restaurant. Since his passing his son and wife have continued to run the operation, but the son could sure use his father's great personality.
In any event, my guest and I were some of the first to return after the Covid-19 re-opening. We were greeted rather abruptly by the son who took us to a two-top table crammed up against the wall adjacent to the bar. No one else was in the restaurant at the time. I initially thought that perhaps they had a new seating arrangement pursuant to State restrictions, however the next three guests, two of them couples, like myself, were seated at larger four top tables adjacent to my table. They filled up the entire row of tables next to us. While those tables were barely 6' apart, once the chairs were pulled out, it allowed about 2'-3' feet between guests. We were very uncomfortable sitting so close to the guests directly across from us. So much for social distancing policies.
Our waiter, whom we did not recognize with his face mask on, was only partially attentive during the course of our meal as the restaurant began to fill up. What ultimately bothered me was that the Mom began seating some of the subsequent guests and was overheard to ask each guest where they would like to sit. I made my feelings known to the waiter...he could have cared less. Oddly enough, during our 80 minute dining experience, not one other couple was seated at the other four empty tables crammed against the wall.
Our waiter further aggravated the situation when I told him that the bottle of Chianti Reserva, I had ordered, appeared to be "corked." His response was, "you have to let it air out" and he refused to take it back. Chianti of this grade, usually does not improve with aeration...and it did not!
We made the best of the meal, paid the bill and left. Perhaps things will improve as everyone adjusts to re-opening, but I will not know that, because I will never return!
Moral of this story is this, "loyalty get you nowhere in today's mixed up world."

We just finished our Easter Menu dinner. WOW! Fantastic. Everything was perfect. We had the Pork Braciolla. Best we have had in years. Great job Nick!
